View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having an issue with my internet connection. I have AT&T Uverse high speed internet, complete with the Motorola NVG510 ADSL modem. For the past couple weeks, my download speeds have gone from 1.0 MB/s to < 100 KB/s up to 400 KB/s if I'm lucky.I used to be able to download files and watch videos at the same time with very little trouble, but now I only have enough bandwidth to either do one or the other without causing any problems. I thought my ISP had throttled my bandwidth, but I've run the Glasnost tests at url... and it came back as fine.It may not mean anything, but I should note that a few weeks ago, we had storms move through the area and lightning struck our house. It ended up shocking my mom through the USB mouse while she was using my computer, it blew out one of my computer speakers, and I believe it's the reason why the ethernet port on my motherboard no longer works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanna get one of the following Atom boards for a Pfsense box:
X7SPA-HF-D525 Mini-ITX - [URL]
X7SPE-HF-D525 FlexATX - [URL]
X7SPA-HF D510 Mini-ITX - [URL]
X7SPE-HF D510 FlexATX - [URL]
And put it in this case: [URL]
However, I can't find any info on which style motherboard is compatible with the expansion slot on the front of the case. I know you need a riser card to extend the PCI-e slot to the expansion slot, but since FlexATX and Mini-ITX are difference shapes/lengths, I don't know if the case's expansion slot is designed to only work with one or the other.
I have installed a new motherboard in my destop, i purchased the same model(ms 6763 ver 1.0) but for some reason the driver for the ethernet controller hasnt installedThe motherboard didnt come with a driver disk. I would like to know how or where i can obtain said driver. I have tried a number of sites online via a diffferent pc (as mine at present wont go online as i cannot connect it to hub) but these sites want to install driver/hardware identifier software and as it is a different computer i want to install said driver this solution is no good to me

i have installed debian squeeze (headless shell only) on a 1gb pen drive that is readonly (using aufs)it its a great setup for me?i use it for file server, webserver (local only), SAN server etc...the only problem i have is that sometimes the drive access is slow when using iscsi from it, or coping files.on samba i get about 30MB/s NFS i get about 55MB/s using iperf i get max 61MB/s (but if i setup the server on it - 114MB/s can be transferred to it) is there any way to increase network performance on it? if you have this board what type of transfer speeds do you get?
I recently upgraded my 2811 router with an AC- IP power supply, and installed a HWIC-4ESW-POE, with an Inline Power Daughter Card (ILPM-4) installed on the HWIC.
The second I turned the router's power on, there was a spark and a burning smell. Everything still works, except POE. Examining the card, I see it caused a circuit on the ILPM-4 motherboard to blow, and there is black residue everywhere. This is a Genuine Cisco power supply, but why it's done this.
Furthermore, when the power supply was first installed, it had so much electricity (and I know this is why the card got toasted) that touching the end of the console cable or an Ethernet cable connected to the router, or even the router chassis, would cause you to get a small electric shock, like touching a mild electric fence. Clearly, the power supply I installed is "too-powerful", but it is a 2811-AC-IP and nothing should have caused this.
I have a P7H55 Asus Motherboard with the ethernet port and cable working fine individually. However, when i connect them together, the ethernet light on the router remains stable as if connected but still the desktop shows not connected. This time i have installed the drivers which came from the motherboard manufacturer and are the latest. In the Network and Sharing Center, the icon is enabled. It does not show cross sign.

View 1 Replies View Relatedreliability of the ET dual port server adapter. I have a Windows Server 2012 hyper-v host thats used to run all of the vm's I use in my house on an ASUS P9X79 WS motherboard. The board comes with 2 Intel gigabit nic's, one of which is an Intel server nic. Ever since installing Server 2012 it only registers one onboard adapter for use and the other isn't. Because of this I am planning on getting a second server grade network adapter for the vm's to use and have the onboard dedicated to management only. The only thing currently holding me back is if the OS will properly detect and run the network card in a non-server motherboard? Any insight as to if it will work on my board or not? Google has only revealed uses on server boards and not workstations.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis has been driving me absolutely crazy but I am glad to have found the source of it. Over the past 4-5 weeks ever since i built my new computer, my computer has always had this wierd high pitch noise. I dont know if its coil whine or not, but the sound signature is def not the same as the coil whine that comes from my 7970 card. It sounds more digital.
What could be the cause of this? And what would the remedy be? My ethernet cable is approx 60 ft so it will be a pain in the ass to replace. Or buy another NIC?
edit: forgot to mention....the noise is constant. Not intermittent with usage. No amount of load or idle on the network changes the noise.
I have an ASUS Z77 Motherboard and when I install the AI Suite II which comes on the installation disc it blocks my internet connection. When I uninstall the software my connection is fine. I am using an Ethernet connection by the way. I think it is being blocked by the component called Network iControl. As soon as that component is uninstalled my Internet connection comes back. I want to have the software, but I also want to have my connection.
