Intel Gigabit ET Dual Port Card In ASUS P9X79 WS Motherboard?
Nov 4, 2012reliability of the ET dual port server adapter. I have a Windows Server 2012 hyper-v host thats used to run all of the vm's I use in my house on an ASUS P9X79 WS motherboard. The board comes with 2 Intel gigabit nic's, one of which is an Intel server nic. Ever since installing Server 2012 it only registers one onboard adapter for use and the other isn't. Because of this I am planning on getting a second server grade network adapter for the vm's to use and have the onboard dedicated to management only. The only thing currently holding me back is if the OS will properly detect and run the network card in a non-server motherboard? Any insight as to if it will work on my board or not? Google has only revealed uses on server boards and not workstations.

Sep 2, 2011Only trying to have the mail server reachable via the secondary ISP link if the primary ISP link goes out. The public MX records with priority markings should make it so any outside hosts tries the first ISP address then the second ISP address if the first is unavailable. I would be using object tracking to control the default gateway in the ASA. I'm just a bit fuzzy on the NAT with a dual ISP config on single box.It shouldn't happen but... if traffic comes in on ISP2 while ISP1 is still up (and the current default gate) that traffic should return out the ISP2 interface (using the ISP2 address and avoiding asymmetric routing) since there already an existing connection present inside the ASA. Any server initiated traffic would still use the current default gateway defined via object tracking on the ASA.

May 23, 2011I have a Dell Server on the way to me, a T110 to be specific. It will have win server 2008 R2 on it. I ordered it to come with Dual NIC cards. To be specific it is 1 card that has two rj-45 ports on it. My question is, what is the benefit of dual ports? I have heard of teaming but don't really know if that applies. I will be using this server for our company website and to facilitate local office backups as well as backing up our regional offices to it. I could see that it would benefit local LAN traffic speed, but outside of the LAN would it still benefit the speed of incoming connections from branch offices running backups?

We have configured the router in Smart Link backup.We try to connect with WAN1 and WAN2 enabled and all works fine.
We try to connect with WAN1 disabled and automatically WAN2 is activated.The problem start here...if WAN1 is activated while there are connections using WAN2, these connections falls!
How I must configure the router to permit that active connections are not disconnected from WAN2 even when WAN1 connection come back?

Jan 23, 2013We have a couple of 6500 series switches and have 3 BGP peerings to each. The 6500 series switches are loaded with WS-SUP720-3B Supervisor Engine. I believe there is a limit to the number of IPv4 routes WS-SUP720-3B supports(256,000). We also have "soft-reconfiguration inbound" configured on the BGP peerings. Thus when I do a "show ip bgp A.B.C.D" it displays three routes from 3 BGP peers and it displays an additional 3 "received-only routes" which I think is due to the "soft-reconfiguration inbound" configuration. We currently filter inbound routes from the BGP peers to be between /0 and /27
We are now looking to add another 2 BGP peerings. I am not too sure if the WS-SUP720-3B will be able to handle all the BGP routes. Is this limit of 256,000 IPv4 routes due to Processor memory limitation or is it software related? Would removing the "soft-reconfiguration inbound" save me some memory ?

Max time 50 %.In the morning when Branch location are off then time also high utilization.High utilization is not continue after intervals of time or periodic time its goes to high.

Set up the WDR4300 with a USB drive connected (Platinum MyDrive CP 500 GB USB 3.0).Enabled the Media server, shared the entire drive, stuck an test .avi on there.My laptop has no trouble playing it from the attached storage, my Xbox sees the folders and files, recognizes them as playable formats but then does nothing once I hit play to get the file going.If I copy the exact same file to the shared folders on my laptop, navigate from the Xbox to that location it streams within the second.Also tried the same thing with a 16 Gb USB thumbdrive, same result.

I've recently bought the TP-LINK WDR3600 and am very happy with it. I'm using its media server feature so I can watch movies on my TV through DLNA, but have found a problem: the MP4 files are not shown. All the other files work perfectly (AVI, MKV), but the MP4 files are not shown in Windows Media Player or LG Smart TV. I assume the Media Server software simply does not include this kind of files when scanning. Is there any way of accessing the media server configuration file and "enable" MP4 files?

I've set up my printer (HP PSC 2410) to the router using TL-WDR3600_V1.0_USB Print Service Client Setup and that part's fine. The USB Printer Controller sees the printer as an "auto-connected printer" and I can select the printer as my default to print to. My problem lies with the fact that every time I try to print something, it causes a BSOD. I'm using Windows 8 and checked to make sure the USB Print Service Client Setup program was compatible with Windows 8 before I attempted anything. The HP PSC 2410 printer is on the Print Server Compatibility list so I don't know why I'm having problems.
The error I get each time I try to print is: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (TplinkUDSTcpBus.sys). One of the draws of this router was that I could hook up my printer via USB and print wirelessly

I am trying to restrict external access to a ftp server I have running, to a single external IP address. Is this possible? It can be done for the Remote Management IP Address page, where you can enter a single address or 255.255.255.255 to allow all external hosts. But the set up of a virtual server does not appear to have that option.

I have the WDR-3600 with a usb drive. I have updated to latest firmware 3.13.26. I am having problems with the media server. I have 331 folders shared in the Music folder. When I access it via the DLNA it will only show the first 123 folders. I can access all of the folders via network share but not via the media server. I have checked this on my music player and my android phone and tablet. Both of them can only see the first 123 folders.

For the past couple weeks, my download speeds have gone from 1.0 MB/s to < 100 KB/s up to 400 KB/s if I'm lucky.I used to be able to download files and watch videos at the same time with very little trouble, but now I only have enough bandwidth to either do one or the other without causing any problems. I thought my ISP had throttled my bandwidth, but I've run the Glasnost tests at url... and it came back as fine.It may not mean anything, but I should note that a few weeks ago, we had storms move through the area and lightning struck our house. It ended up shocking my mom through the USB mouse while she was using my computer, it blew out one of my computer speakers, and I believe it's the reason why the ethernet port on my motherboard no longer works.

I know you need a riser card to extend the PCI-e slot to the expansion slot, but since FlexATX and Mini-ITX are difference shapes/lengths, I don't know if the case's expansion slot is designed to only work with one or the other.
