Nov 24, 2011I'm just courious as to the platform specs of the SRP500 series routers. What processor is used, how fast is it and how much RAM and flash do they have?

My Draytek 2710 just dies after 2 years so I was looking for something a little more reliable and noticed the spec of the SRP527W-U.I take it with only one antenna and reading a couple of past discussions, the wireless will only manage n-lite as some people call it i.e. 150Mbps, and not the full 300? Oh, and are the ports still only 100M and not Gig?I know the 547 would tick both these boxes but we are talking twice the price. How does the quality and logevity of the SRP500 series compare to the RV series (which would need an adsl modem) or the Linksys boxes?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a couple of 6500 series switches and have 3 BGP peerings to each. The 6500 series switches are loaded with WS-SUP720-3B Supervisor Engine. I believe there is a limit to the number of IPv4 routes WS-SUP720-3B supports(256,000). We also have "soft-reconfiguration inbound" configured on the BGP peerings. Thus when I do a "show ip bgp A.B.C.D" it displays three routes from 3 BGP peers and it displays an additional 3 "received-only routes" which I think is due to the "soft-reconfiguration inbound" configuration. We currently filter inbound routes from the BGP peers to be between /0 and /27
We are now looking to add another 2 BGP peerings. I am not too sure if the WS-SUP720-3B will be able to handle all the BGP routes. Is this limit of 256,000 IPv4 routes due to Processor memory limitation or is it software related? Would removing the "soft-reconfiguration inbound" save me some memory ?
My client using 3845 as a core router . 200 number of branch are connected through 6 ISP.Some of days average process shows 90 % . Max time 50 %.In the morning when Branch location are off then time also high utilization.High utilization is not continue after intervals of time or periodic time its goes to high.
have any solution for that ?. before once 3845 is crash for that. another is ready for replacee. We test another device like core switches for observation CPU rate.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been able to put two Linksys routers in series no problem but this doesn't seem to work with an RV042.I have a number of customers that need to connect to a private email network via a router based VPN, but since VPN traffic is not filtered in the firewall, I would like to use an older Linksys router to manage the VPN(s) and have it pass data in through the filters of an RV042 on the DMZ port.I am getting stuck on the very frist part of this. Although I can connect to both the RV042 and LinkSys directly (by adjusting my subnet), I cannot ping the Linksys when it is connected through the DMZ port even if I disable the RV042 Internet port.
I know both the Internet and DMZ ports work on the RV042. I suspected that perhaps the RV won't pass through private IPs and tried known available pubic IPs instead of the 192.168.2.x subnet, but still no ping. What would be limiting the RV in this case? Is is possible to setup the RV to work in series with another router? Is there any other way to filter VPN traffic?

How to track the cause of this? We only have routing protocols and 5 static routes to Null 0, so I cant see how this can be a route loop, but willing to stand corrected. Routes are learned from BGP with OSPF/MPLS internally on the network. This switch also connects to access switches on RIP and EIGRP.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have deployed a number of 800 series routers for some of our clients and have found that in many cases they seem to disconnect at an excessive rate. When I connected to the console of one the other day I could see that the virtual-interface for the ADSL connection was down, but not the ATM or DSL interface. If I disconnected the cable and reconnected the virtual-circuit came back up momentarily before disconnecting within a minute.
If I switched off the router for a few minutes and powered it back on it would usually remain up for a few hours. I reconfigured the router again using exactly the same config and it seemed to stay up for quite long periods for 4 or 5 days before reverting to type. [code]
