I've goggled and searched here, and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I need to make a couple changes to a clients Cisco 800 series router, enable ping replies add ip addresses to the ssh ACL.I can't seem to find any basic commands for CLI anywhere.

My Draytek 2710 just dies after 2 years so I was looking for something a little more reliable and noticed the spec of the SRP527W-U.I take it with only one antenna and reading a couple of past discussions, the wireless will only manage n-lite as some people call it i.e. 150Mbps, and not the full 300? Oh, and are the ports still only 100M and not Gig?I know the 547 would tick both these boxes but we are talking twice the price. How does the quality and logevity of the SRP500 series compare to the RV series (which would need an adsl modem) or the Linksys boxes?

The objective is to route specific VLAN traffic and the caveat is that I have multiple VLANs with the same network address.
For example:
VLAN100 10.10.10.0/28 VLAN101 10.10.11.0/28 VLAN102 10.10.12.0/28
VLAN103 10.10.12.0/28
VLAN104 10.10.11.0/28
I need traffic going from VLAN100 with a destination of 10.10.11.0 forwarded to VLAN101 and NOT VLAN104.
This task is currently being completed by a multi context firewall and we're trying to decommission the asset.

View 2 Replies View RelatedConfiguring an application using routing mode on cisco ace clients ---asa--3750--cisco ace--- servers behind vip,visa card transaction servers.i am able to setup a vip on ace using routing mode on ACE,as the servers need to see the client ip ,so we are not performing SNAT,this part is working fine,when a request comes from the client ,it goes to the vip and to one of the backend servers ,and the request will be forwaded back to the ace ,as the default gateway on the servers is pointing to the server vlan on ace.but if the transaction from the servers need to go to the visa card transaction servers ,how can we achieve this ,and after fetching the data from visa servers,does the reply will be fwd to the ACE or ASAs directly.

I don't have any special need, besides Internet connection and DHCP for some guest clients.There are around 30 IP phones (static IP), 30 PCs (static IP), and 10 wireless APs (users get dynamic IP). Maximum load is 5 phones, 5 PCs and 20 phones/laptops connected via wi-fi.
I guess I should go for Cisco 800 series. Would model 861 be good or I will need 881 or even 891?

I'm trying to turn off SSH version 1 & 2 to pass PCI compliance. Problem is, I cannot touch the VPN link between the two offices. I'm afraid the PKI certificate used for the VPN will be deleted if i zeroize the RSA key which seems to be the only way to stop the router responding on port 22.
Here is the stuff from the running config related to the crypto map:

I'm only CCNA so I'm not even sure if the certificate or RSA key is being used for the VPN link, but I can't tell from the running config that zeroizing it would be a good idea and not break the VPN. I'm open to other ways of disabling SSH, as we are able to just connect using a console cable. But it looks like denying port 22 with an access-list doesn't even stop the router from responding to the port.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI can see the console on the router. (Using the USB console connected to a Macintosh.) I was configuring the router though this console connection, and I created a new user (priv level 15) and removed the default 'cisco' user. So I'm stuck at the username/password login prompt now.
I decided to do the password recovery procedure (via the cisco doc I found etc), but I cannot break into ROMMON during the boot process. I'm not sure if that's because my Mac isn't sending the break, or what.
The pw recovery doc says you can "remove flash" if you can't break into the boot sequence. However, I cannot find any instructions on how to remove the flash. I've opened the router, and I see one very small daughter card on the main board that I think is the flash, but I'm not about to start arbitrarly prying parts off.
My Cisco seems to be stuck when it boots up, with the following:
Upgrade ROMMON initalized
And it goes on with self comperessing image then an OK but then it starts loading again all over.
I have a routed interface on a Cisco 6500 Series switch. I am trying to find a way to adjust the tcp mss.To date I have not yet been able to find a way to accomplish this. Is this just not supported?

View 0 Replies View Relatedwe are using cisco 6509 series switches as core switches. and Cisco 4510,4507 series switches as edge switches. all the vlans are created at core switches and propogating to edge switches through VTP. we are using OSPF as routing protocol at core switch for internal routing. till now we are using 4510,4507 switches as layer 2 switches. Since, 4510 & 4507 switches are hign end swithces i want use them as layer 3 switches instead of layer 2.if i change these switches from layer 2 to layer 3 does it make any impact on our network or better to keep them as layer 2 switches.if i change these switches to layer 3 is there any advantage i will have.

As you can see from the above output there is a problem with the command on this interface. When I try to set Fa0 as my source it works fine:

Is this because fa4 is layer 3 and fa0 is a switchport? If so, is there another way to set fa4 as the source?
I have mounted a cisco 2950G series switch in the network. we are working on Multicasting so I have LAN connectivity from one location ot other.
Situation:- 1- we do not have to do anything at remote location. its already done with final configuration and working fine because we other location witch are connected with this same HP switch at remote site and working fine but problem is only with one location where I have changed switch(cisco2960). when i connect cable from MUx to the switch cisco switch (Local) on particular port its does not response (LED continuously glowing amber color and does not go to green color) and communication does not start.for fixing this issue I have done so many things, vlan, duplex, speed- done everything but response.
situation 2:-when I changed this cisco device and use any other vendor's switch whether its manageable not manageable its get start proper communication. so I am unable to figure out whats the issue with. is there new or latest switch are not compatible with other vendor.
