Cisco Infrastructure :: SRE-9XX Quad Core Upgrade Processor In Devices
Sep 23, 2012
Any thoughts on Cisco putting a quad core processor in some near future version of this card?, the current versions are simple dual processors that does not give you much to work with if running ESXi 5 on one of the vCPUs.
I have a very basic networking question If I have, say, 3750's (or any L3 switch, capable of routing) at the edge and a 4500 at the core, where should I route? At the edge? At the Core? Both?
recommend a cisco core switch and access switches in IPTV network infrastructure?I was ask to implement a network for IPTV system but i don't have idea what will be the model i will use.
In my organization we have several 2950T that conected each other. We have 4 floor with each floor have 1 sw except 4th flr have 3 sw.
Main server, apps, db ( 15 units) connected to core sw at 4th flr. Currently the problem is others devices can't connected to the server at core sw. Test ping and the network to core sw is intermittent problem. When ping 100 times only 30 reply. After 10 minutes the connection restored. Ping 100 times successful. It will not having problem again until the next day. This already happen 3 days. Any command for me to use to check if port or the switch having problem? Any log i can collect
Doing a bug scrub on our dual core, dual Sup 720 6500s tonight. We are going from s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI4a.bin to SXI9. I want to get a second set of eyes on my script since I have not done this for about 1 1/2 years. Following this doc:[URL]
I want to upgrade IOS for my production core 3750 switch. Below is Show version/fash output. I have IOS image "c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-55.SE7", need to confirm below concerns:-
1-As this is stackable switch do i need to upgrade on all Switch..i can see there are 3 flash while doing show flash? 2-Is above IOS image support with my switch? do i able to enable ssh? 3-is flash memory is enough to succefully upgrade IOS? 4-Any other point which i should keep in mind before upgrading..any special feature which this IOS wont support.
I am planning to upgrade the current core switch(3750) to 6509 series switch. Since we have a production network running we have to plan for an online core switch upgrade.
Is there any challenge to upgrade core switch 6500 series from Nexus 7009 which runs NxOS, because i have 3750X series switches connected at distribution and access layer in my network topology??
Is there any challenge if we place NxOS in core and IOS in distribution and Access layer??? how we are able to match sh run config in existing 6500 switch to Nexus 7009 NXOS?
I am going to be updating the IOS on our Cisco ASA 5520 from verion 7.0(8) to 8.2(5). I am also going to setup AnyConnect. Are there any major changes in the 2 IOS versions that I need to be aware of or will the config work in either version? Also, we are currently using the Cisco VPN Client to connect to our network. Will that still work after the upgrade?
trying to upgrade an 1811 to the latest firmware. [code] just seems to always boot back to the original file and not the one i just tftp'd up. could it be that this router requires additional ram to support this ios?
I have upgraded NCS 1.1.1.24 to PI 1.2 lately. The installation process completed successfully. But now i am not able to log in to the GUI anymore as root. After entering the password all I get is a blank site (undefined).I get the same result with all known browsers. Rebooting or restarting NCS does not change anything.
after an upgrade of NCS 1.1.1.24 to CPI 1.2 on green field, it was not possible to reuse the GUI. During the upgrade, I''ve shortly seen an oracle DB error, but the upgrade was going through, without problems. At the end, it was not possible to use the GUI, and every trial to start the services was stopped with errors.I've found the following severe Bug ID's in the support forum: Bug CSCuc29378 Prime Infrastructure 1.2 won't start after a db restore/Upgrade from NCS1.1.1.24 Oracle DB bug as well: CSCtw59460.I see only a new installation from scratch (1.2) as solution, but the bug is not resolved in V1.2, as seen in the bug tool.
- As the customer has an v.1.0 license who worked with NCS 1.1.1, do I need an upgrade order to be able to activate an installation from the v 1.2 ova (new PAK)??
- I'm searching for a one year CPI partner license, because I heard about in some Cisco Live sessions, but I did not find a way to acces´s to it.
Im getting a bit confused about the whole upgrade migration process for the following config to Cisco Prime Infrastructure:
LMS - Version 4.1 , 500 devices. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1 NCS – version 1.1 , 50 devices Red Hat Linux ( 64 Bit) (Installation software - NCS-VA-1.0.1.4-small.ova)
I want to be able to backup databases and migrate licensing from LMS and NCS to one platform.
I have a client who has LMS 4.1 with SAS support, I know that I can upgrade him to the Prime infrastructure for LMS and NCS, however he is licensed for 100 devices. He also has WCS 7.0 with 50 AP licenses, I want to upgrade his LMS to Prime infrastructure and then migrate his WCS to NCS, but how do I know combine the both so that he is on one platform.
I am running 12.3(11) T8 on Cisco 2821 platform and trying to upgrade to 15.0. No luck. So I tried to upgrade it to 12.4 24T. But failed several times on different routers. Is there an intermediate version I should land before jumping to 12.4 24T?
I am upgrading the network equipment at my place of employment. We use Cisco C3560, 2960, 4506 and I was noticing that IOS 15.0.x is available. After doing some reading it appears that Cisco is going to a pay for the licensing functionality that you want. Do I need to purchase licenses to upgrade from IOS 12.X to 15.0.x to maintain functionality?
I recently installed a firmware upgrade on my E3000 to firmware version 1.0.04.build 6. Since the upgrade I am unable to see any of my files on my network computer which is running windows 7. Before everything was fine and I could stream to my dvd players and dish receivers.
How do I upgrade the boot rom version on the 7200 router? I am running IOS Version 12.4(22)T and when I plug in the serial ds3 card in my router it keeps rebooting with a watch dog error ( see below). Also, what version should I upgrade to?

We are getting ready to start testing Quad VSS for our production VSS environments we have done the research and per documentation it seems pretty straight forward.
I want to make sure that the dual to quad VSS is easily done across our multiple VSS setups and I am curious of those that have done this already have you ran into any gotchas on the turn up of the ICS Sup?
Also, just a ICS in a single chassis instead of one in both chassis of the VSS?
In one of our environments we have all single home devices going to VSS switch 1 and only dual homed devices. going to switch 2 so may be desireable to only install an ICS in the switch 1 VSS.
I set up Catalyst6500 Quad-SUP VSS system.I have a problem with slow BGP convergence(80sec) on VSS switchover. Each chassis has a bgp peer and "bgp graceful-restart" is disabled.I investigated BGP behavior with "debug ip bgp events" and "debug ip bgp update".I found that BGP process waited a peer to reply until timeout and after the timeout BGP table was calculated.I guess this timer makes the convergence slow. How can I adjust this timer value ?
I search at all cisco pages about support of VSS quad supervisor 2T support.Even relase notes, q&a etc. But until now I don’t found any pros or contra. Customer use the newest IOS 15.1.1-SY Customer uses already several system with quad sup720, has also experience.Customers actual state is:With quad sup 2T the 2nd sup2t of each VSS-chassis drops in rommon.Without VSS the same sup2t comes up either as active or standby!
We have a quad port NIC on our Dell server.I want to take all 4 ports and plug it into our switch and have it all go to the same IP of the server and just have to share the data load in/out.Do I need to configure anything to do this?
I'm just courious as to the platform specs of the SRP500 series routers. What processor is used, how fast is it and how much RAM and flash do they have?
We have a couple of 6500 series switches and have 3 BGP peerings to each. The 6500 series switches are loaded with WS-SUP720-3B Supervisor Engine. I believe there is a limit to the number of IPv4 routes WS-SUP720-3B supports(256,000). We also have "soft-reconfiguration inbound" configured on the BGP peerings. Thus when I do a "show ip bgp A.B.C.D" it displays three routes from 3 BGP peers and it displays an additional 3 "received-only routes" which I think is due to the "soft-reconfiguration inbound" configuration. We currently filter inbound routes from the BGP peers to be between /0 and /27
We are now looking to add another 2 BGP peerings. I am not too sure if the WS-SUP720-3B will be able to handle all the BGP routes. Is this limit of 256,000 IPv4 routes due to Processor memory limitation or is it software related? Would removing the "soft-reconfiguration inbound" save me some memory ?
