Belkin Router Kills Upload Capacity On One Computer Only

Jun 22, 2011

I have a laptop and a PC, both connected to the same router, connected to a Time Warner Road Runner cable modem. The laptop works fine whether it is in wireless or wired mode. The PC does not have wireless. When the PC is connected to the router, it's download speed is OK but I have zero upload speed - which of course kills my ability to do almost any online or even LAN task, including browsing and file transferring over LAN.When I plug directly into the modem, bypassing the Belkin, the PC connection works just fine. It only encounters errors when going through the router, but every other computer in the household works fine through the router (3 laptops, work great either wired or wireless using same cables and ports as the PC). The PC worked fine in my old apartment with a different router, but as soon as I got to this one, nothing.

Both comp's have WinXP Home Edition. The PC has a Realtek onboard NIC, called PCIe GBE Family NIC in Device Manager. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and using multiple driver versions, to no avail. The Ethernet cable is known working. The router is a Belkin F5D9230-4 Wireless G Plus MIMO Router with fully updated firmware. All my firewalls are turned off, including that of the router.Everything is up to date, I have done full virus and malware scans, power cycled everything, and I just cannot solve this problem.

Belkin Routers :: N600 Significantly Slowing System's Upload Speed

Dec 23, 2012

At the recommendation of a tech, I ran a speed test (speedtest.net) on my system with my N600 in place. The upload speeds averaged out to 0.21mbps. I took the router out of the system and the speed climbed to an average of 0.37. What is the problem with the router and what need I do to boost the upload speed with it in place?

Cisco WAN :: 1721 / Maximum Router CEF Capacity?

May 8, 2012

I have a 1721 router with 3 equal routes to 0.0.0.0, using CEF for load balancing with universal load balancing algorithm. It doesn`t NAT, just routing. I wonder which is the maximum capacity of the router, since it should support up to 40000 connections to different destination IP. Is the limit set by the router resources (CPU, memory, ...) or a maximum limit of entries in the table FIB / RIB?

Cisco WAN :: Capacity Benchmark On 3825 Router

Aug 3, 2011

What is the maximum amount of traffic a 3825 router can take. I know that a 3825 is rated to handle half of a DS3/T3. We are planning to put a 50Mbps point to point metro Ethernet circuit between two 3825's and run encryption over that line. I just want to make sure we don't max out the router as I remember once a customer maxed out a 3825 with a ton or GRE tunnels and the router crashed every time they did their nightly data dump.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E1000 - Watch HULU Through Player It Kills Entire Internet Connection?

Dec 17, 2011

I have the E1000 Linksys Router and I am using a network cable to connect to my Sony Blu-ray BDP-S370. When I watch HULU through the player it kills the entire internet connection for all PCs. I have to unplug the router in order to restart it. Everything will also work just fine until the next crash. Here's the thing, I'll watch a bit of the show and see the commercials and the router will only crash when it comes back to the show. If I watched 100 commercials they would not crash, but as soon as it returns to the show CRASH. Restart and we watch again.

Belkin Basic USB Wireless Adapter / Very Slow Download Speed - Upload Speed Is Fine

Jan 11, 2011

Recently my desktop has experienced very slow download speeds (~0.11 Mbps), however the upload speed appears to be in line (~2.0Mbps). These numbers are taken from Comcast's speed test (my ISP). It is obviously a problem with my PC because everything else on the network (PS3, Laptop) have great signals with no problems. I just recently reverted the Desktop back to its factory state, and everything was working fine for a couple of months. The desktop in question uses Vista 32-bit and the Belkin Basic USB Wireless Adapter.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT120N Get Better Internet Connection / Have More Capacity To Connect Different Devices

Jul 10, 2012

Reciently I bought a WRT120N Router to get a better internet connection and to have more capacity to connect different wireless devices, because the modem from my internet provider company is extremely restrictive.

I use an iMac, a Notebook with Windows 7 and a Netbook with Ubuntu 11.04, besides different devices (iPhone, iPod, PS3, Kindle). Although when I configured the router I connected every devices simultaneasly, with better signal quality than before, after using it for a couple of days I found that it disconnects itself, I can't access internet, and my only solution it's to switch it off and on.

Adding WAP To Network Kills Wired Speed?

Oct 2, 2011

If you look at my attachment it shows a thousand words; but basically I have a 4 port Thompson ADSL modem/router which handles the DHCP, and plugged into this are my main PC which I use to serve video files and music to my PS3 - which is connected to the same router but via a switch. The WIFI on the Thompson modem is switched off.In this scenario alone (NO Belkin wireless access point) my media plays beautifully via PS3 Media Server. However the moment I connect the Belkin into the switch as well, it plays havoc with the wired connection speed between the PC and PS3, dropping it to near unplayable speeds. Massive video stutters, music stops etc. I measured it using a PC on the end of the cable instead of the PS3 and it came out at about 1.4Mbps using 'LAN Speed Test'[CODE]

WPA2-PK Encryption Drastically Kills Internet Speeds

Jan 20, 2011

Currently my home network is on WEP security. Really crappy security and limits all speeds to 54mbps. So I changed security to WPA2-PK and afterwards the internet is DEADLY slow. speedtest.net shows me at about 1mbps compared to 13-20 with WEP encryption. Something is obviously wrong here, and I can't figure out what. [code] I'm really puzzled as to why WPA2-PK is so awful. After changing it I can't log back into 192.168.1.1 unless I power cycle the router and connect via wired connection.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Intel 82578DC With Windows 7 64-bit Kills Wireless

Apr 5, 2010

I recently built a new computer with an Intel DP55WB motherboard which contains the 8257DC Gigabit controller.  I am running Windows 7 64-bit with the latest Intel drivers. I have noticed that when the new computer is on the network, the wireless recycles and then completely fails. I thought the DIR-655 had died, but when I rebooted the router with the computer turned off, the wireless came back up.  I checked the router logs, and multiple wireless restarts are clearly indicated. After about a dozen wireless restarts, the wireless turns off. I am running firmware 1.20 (I haven't seen any reason to upgrade until now).

Delete The Belkin Pin Code From Computer?

Aug 17, 2012

How can I remove the PIN code that's been configured in my computer. My computer shares in a home network that bumps everyone out whenever I go into the internet including the owner of the BELKIN network router to whom we are connected to the internet. I mistakenly connected into the network via the router's PIN Code resulting in my computer being configured and the rest of computers in the network being bumped out. Instead of just typing the passphrase/password I typed in the text box the PIN code for the Belkin router when it asked for the PIN code instead of just connecting into the internet without necessarily configuring my computer for the BELKIN router? how to remove the PIN code in my computer so that I do not bump everyone in the network.

D-Link DIR-655 :: 4 Mbps Upload Via CAT5 But Only 1 Mbps Upload Via N-format Wireless?

Jun 30, 2011

I just upgraded my cable modem from the Motorola Sufboard 5120 to the DOCSIS 3.0 capable 6120. Provisioned it with Comcast and their "Blast" service (supposedly it caps at 16 down, 2 up).

I had, in the past, used my desktop via N-format wireless (DWA-525 N-format PCI adapter and DIR-655 N-format router) to do a speedtest.net test. I was getting 16 down and 2 up (as advertised). When I switched to the 6120, I did a speedtest.net test again to see what kind of gains, if any, I was getting.  Turns out, I was getting 20+ down (nice improvement) and 1/2 Mbps up (a fourth of what I used to be getting?). Called Comcast. They "sent signals" (don't they always?) and claimed that it fixed it. My download speeds increased a smidge (about 22), but my upload speeds were still .5. Called Motorola, they had me do a few things and now I get 1 Mbps up and 27 - 30 down via wireless.

My download speeds are great. I'm content with that. If I hardwire from the cable modem directly to a ****py old laptop, a speedtest.net shows 4 Mbps up. So why do I get such a high upload speed when hardwired (4 Mbps), but a fraction of it (1/4th) when wireless? I'm not using any other devices to sap bandwidth (some are connected -- i.e. another desktop, my Droid phone, etc., but aren't actively pulling packets). And why would it go from 2 up (on my desktop via wireless in the past) to only 1 up (via wireless now) when the setup is the same across the board (as best I recall) other than upgrading my cable modem.

Since I get 4 up when hardwired straight off the cable modem, I assume my DIR-655 is slowing me down somehow. How to pick up the pace a bit? I've already tried the standard "power cycling", etc.

Oh, and the reason I go wireless -- my cable modem and wireless router are in my game room in the basement for my PS3. My desktop computer (and the wife's desktop computer) are two floors directly above it in our "office".  Signal strength is "excellent" ... always has been.  And again, pretty much everything is the same.

Cisco WAN :: 7600 Hardware TCAM Entry Capacity Exceeded

Nov 30, 2011

I am seeing the following log messages appear on our border edge 7600 router (SUP720-3BXL)  The messages seem to appear when tag switching has been enabled on the interface, so somehow related I presume.  The MPLS forwarding table is very small however. [code]

I can't see anything that is using up the ACL_TCAM HI BANK using "show tcam global acl"  There aren't any ACL's applied to any of the interfaces, or policy-maps.  The only ACL's in use are for SNMP, ntp, and VTY.  These are very small any way.  Interface Gi1/22, and 1/1 have tag switching enabled.  [code]

The router has a full BGP routing table learned via an upstream (EBGP) peer neighbor, and an IBGP peer.  The CPU utilisation seems fine, as is memory usage.  CEF seems to be running okay.  It's currently running [code] Are prefix lists part of TCAM?  Is the router over-resourced holding a full bgp routing table?

Any list of routers and switches supporting variety of throughput's from 1 MB to 1 GB.I have heard some experts stating "Switches don't have throughput concerns as they switch the traffic and don't need to route traffic" How true is the statement?? and if it is, Why do we require 6500's instead of 3560 Distribution Switches.
