I need configuring my N900 router to be able to use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection to get into my computer from a client's location. I also want to be able to host websites I'm developing so my clients can see the changes before publishing to their website. I have not been able to find anywhere what settings to set to what in order for these two things to be available to me.

My primary network address range is 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.10. So I gave address to belkin as 192.168.1.100. But I can not access this address from both primary and belkin network.
How to get "Video Mover" to work on my N900 DB. My TV has a DLNA client and can see other DLNA servers (PCs, etc.) but cannot see the Belkin.

Comcast technician says modem is fine, but router appears to be the problem. Cannot find the extension .bin to download upgraded firmware and I don't know whether or not that will work. Since my house is wired with cat5 cables, I was thinking about putting an 8port router in my networking box that is tucked away in the corner of the house, and then using my new Dlink 857 router as just an access point in a more optimal location in the house.
My questions are as follows:
Would be slower for either the wireless internet speed or the speed of file transfers between the wired computers?
Would I be able to transfer files both ways from the NAS that would be hard wired to the 8-port router? Is there any benefit/disadvantage to my idea that I have not thought of? I know it is possible, but do I want to do it?

I have the Netgear wndr4500 router setup as an AP. The wndr4500 has a feature for guest wifi but will not connect to the internet. The main wifi will connect to the internet fine. I'm wondering if I use the WNDR4500 as an AP, the guest features do not work?

It seems that my computer gets assigned a temporary ip automatically and then there will be times when I get "kicked out" and my computer doesn't get connected to the internet. Sometimes for few minutes and sometimes for hours.
No idea what happens there but could be that there are no ips left to assign to my computer and someone else gets the ip address.Anyway I'm trying to find out if I can configure my computer with a static ip.
The maximum number of dhcp users was changed from 50 to 100 by me. IDK if that means that I can assign a static ip from 1 to 100 but say I pick a number 160 so the ip would be xxx.xxx.x.160.

My phone is a Nokia-N900, and I find the most useful way to interact with it from my PC is by ssh. Luckily it is possible to switch out the usb-networking module in the devices kernel to make it appear to windows as a generic RNDIS gadget. Plugging it into a windows PC I can now ssh into it, I can open an sftp session, everything works perfectly...
Except I can't access the web. I can't view other network resources. I look in the network connections section in the control panel and see my two connections, but I don't see any way to set which one to use for what. Seeing as I only use usb0 for ssh and eth0 for everything else, it seems I need a way to set it up so that usb0 only gets port 22 or something similar.
Is there any way to achieve this, or another method by which I could leave my phone connected to my Pc while using it for other network tasks?

I've tried using CMDPrompt and releasing/renewing IP to no avail. I use the belkin n150 router with updated firmware and the linksys wireless-g pci adapter with v3 drivers. Never had an issue before up until now.

since my router setp does not show "guest access" under "wireless" I skipped to #6 as stated. However when I get to #9 there is no "guest settings" dropdown for me to use.

I can access other systems connected on the main WIfi network, but I cannot access Internet.I observe as well that all systems connected to the Extender appear, from the main Wifi network, having the same Mac address. I believe that my ISP (Telenet) does not accept that, and that this is the reason I cannot connect to Internet. Is there any way to change that behaviour ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I set up the Belkin F9K1102 as an access point I can no longer access it via the ip-address and it does not accept the new ip-address I've given it, but takes the ip-address 192.168.2.254, while my network is on the 192.168.1.XXX address series. The only way I can do this is by manually given the router a new address, then manually turn of the DHCP- server and finally move the internet cable from the WAN port to one of the LAN ports - but then the LED-indicator on the router is blinkin red.

The problem I have is in configuring the old router. It won't allow me to change any settings, or at least the changes don't stick, even after clicking "apply changes". I tried creating an administrative password but I am not even sure that this is working. I am using a Macbook, so perhaps this is an Apple compatibility issue. I have tried resetting the router and reverting to Factory default settings, but no joy.
