I have an n600 ( F9K1102 v1 , firmware 1.00.09 ). My ISP provides my main router for my network, but I want to use the N600 as an access point, I have activated the "Use as Access Point" feature.Is it possible to still utilize the Guest Access feature in this case?
View 1 RepliesWhen I set up the Belkin F9K1102 as an access point I can no longer access it via the ip-address and it does not accept the new ip-address I've given it, but takes the ip-address 192.168.2.254, while my network is on the 192.168.1.XXX address series. The only way I can do this is by manually given the router a new address, then manually turn of the DHCP- server and finally move the internet cable from the WAN port to one of the LAN ports - but then the LED-indicator on the router is blinkin red.

since my router setp does not show "guest access" under "wireless" I skipped to #6 as stated. However when I get to #9 there is no "guest settings" dropdown for me to use.
Can I use my F5D7230-4 as an access point? I need to provide a hardwired ethernet connection to my A/V reciever but not have a wired port in the area of my house. I have an existing wireless router thru Century Link. Could I have the Belkin attach itself to the wireless network and then have a cat 5 come out of one of the four ports to connect my A/V reciever to the network?

Is it possible to upgrade my router to the v3 firmware? I'm guessing that I can't because its a v1 router, but just thought I'd ask just in case I can. Don't want to brick the thing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to configure an older Belkin Router (Model Number 5FD8230-4) as an Access Point so that I can boost the range of my network. The problem I have is in configuring the old router. It won't allow me to change any settings, or at least the changes don't stick, even after clicking "apply changes". I tried creating an administrative password but I am not even sure that this is working. I am using a Macbook, so perhaps this is an Apple compatibility issue. I have tried resetting the router and reverting to Factory default settings, but no joy.

It worked, computer connected to the Belkin via wire was getting IP address from DHCP on main router. But: The Belkin device itself became invisible. I lost connection to Belkin device via config page via HTTP. It does not respond to any IP address so I actually cannot use it for purpose I wanted to set up secondary Wi-fi, I just cannot configure it. Also I wanted to use USB ports of the Belkin to connect external drives. I cannot do it as well. More over it does not go back. It does not reset to the original router option.

I have a vlan for admin/private internal access that uses the native vlan (1) and guest vlan (50). I have configured both and I am trying to get both to go out the same Internet connection.
I cannot get the guest access to access the Internet. It looks like my computer will go, but it just comes up saying no Internet access.All interfaces are trunking this vlan properly. I can communicate from the laptop to the 3560 but I just can't get to the Internet.
As per settings menu, I tried to give it an IP address but the new address is not accessible for further configuration. When I connected to the router it status changes to "unidentified network".
My primary network address range is 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.10. So I gave address to belkin as 192.168.1.100. But I can not access this address from both primary and belkin network.
Can 2 N300 wireless bridges be connected to the same wireless access point ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently picked up a 655 with hardware version A2 and flashed to the latest firmware. I have a HotBrick router. I only want to use the 655 as an access point AND especially to use the Guest Access or Guest Zone feature to allow visitors to bring their laptops and not virus up my network. My home network is open among a few computers for things like SageTV, file serving, etc.I can get the 655 to function just fine as a standard access point by following the instructions to turn off UPNP, DHCP, etc. as outlined in the manual. I then enable the Guest Access/Zone feature, and of course give it a different SSID name, make sure it's on 24 hours a day, that it is enabled, etc.
But, none of my computers can access the internet via the Guest Account feature, just the regular wireless portion. They show connecting to the Guest Account name, etc. but no internet. I've disabled every security feature I know of to test this. Again, the "regular" WAP tests great, but no Guest Account, which is really important and one of the main reasons I bought the unit.I'm wondering - does the Guest Account feature only work if the 655 is the main router, has DHCP enabled, etc.? Does it have to be the one and only router? If so, I'm in trouble, because I can't really give up my HotBrick due to failover features, etc.
Is it possible to allow certain websites to bypass the web authentication pages, so that they do not need to authenticate to get to our own website, but do have to if they wish to go anywhere else?Looking at a 5508 model at the moment

Currently, I have an e4200 primary router that is cascaded with two additional e1500 routers that have been configured as access points. The Linksys support team hosted my computer and configured the devices. The e1500 routers are connected via ethernet wires running through the walls. And, this seems to be working well. Here's my question. The e1500 routers are configured with different SSID names, which Linksys advised was required to avoid conflicts in communications from the three router devices. Is there any way to configure this set up or something similar so that the entire wireless network has the same SSID and is seamless. In the current configuration, I have to specifically connect to the primary router or one of the two access points.

Anyway I have a Netgear WG602 v3 Wireless Access Point, and I was wondering am I able to put this somewhere else in the house and have it relay the internet connection to my devices (iPhone for example).
I'm in the User Interface of my Belkin Device but I have no clue how to actually set up this Netgear device to act as an AP. I've changed one thing on the Belkin device, not sure if it'll make any difference. I changed the Wireless Band from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz hoping that it'll strengthen the signal. I've attached a print screen of how the User Interface looks like in case any of the knowing would need some guide to where things are placed. =/
EDIT: Also whenever I'm downloading it's a bit slow. I don't have the fastest internet only 1.5Mbps (150kb/s) but now I'm downloading at about 50kb, and from my computer at about 70kb. =/ These are at separate times.
I am using a Verizon Fios system at home. I have a desktop pc on the other side of the house from my modem that does not have wireless capabilities. I read that I can use an access point to connect it to my wireless network. I'm not sure if this is true or not. I set up my Belkin N150 basic router as directed to make it an access point. I connected it to my desktop pc on the other side of the house and it does not work. 1. Can this set up work? 2. If so, what do I need to do to get connected? Currently the pc is not even recognizing the router/access pt.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Wap610n access point, when I am connected on the device in N mode I got an average speed of 50 bytes per sec, in G mode no problem with an average speed of 2.250 meg per sec .I have tried with 2 different USB keys (Belkin f7d2101 and Hercules hwnum-300) but the result is the same.The access point is configured in 2.4 GHz, band 40 mhz only, and I have verified that no other radio emissions are on the same frequencies than the Wap610n in my neighborhood.
View 7 Replies View Related i have an issue with a 2106 WLC. We have a 44xx series WLC and had an issue with Apple devices: they could not print from wireless. The workaround in the 44xx series WLC was that we have enabled Unicast in the Access Point Multicast mode (configued under Controller/General).
The issue now is that the 2106 wlc does not have unicast in AP multicast mode.
I have a home network, using Belkin N750 as main router and wired ASUS RT-N12C1 which was set as AP mode. How can I find the IP of ASUS RT-N12C1 to change channel?
