I assigned the access point a static IP 192.168.2.50 within the router IP range. My computer wireless card is detecting the access point but I can't get the belkin n600db to detect the access point.

i've tried resetting to factory settings and power cycling my modem and router but nothing.. the issue is that my Wifi icon on the router does NOT show and i went in to the setttings for it and tried resetting everything and nothing works. it works fine hardwired but my Wireless does NOT work..
I am trying to update my firmware from v1 to v2 on my F5D9231-4 Router, after downloading from the support page and trying to install it I get the following error "Upgrade file is not the correct type or version for this device. Upgrade failed. Please obtain the correct file and try again" I double checked the model numbers.

Dont have cable infrastructure in section of building where i need net access.
Have a Cable/Modem (wireless) as main router and need to extend the signal using the N600DB - but without cat5 cable between modem/router & N600.
N600DB - Currently configured with primary computer hardwired to router, 1 laptop via WiFi, a Network booster used by iPhone/iPads and every time I wake the primary computer I get the Router Monitor alert that my internet connection has failed. By the way, I am currently using the primary computer to post this and the Belkin Router Monitor still says my "internet connection has failed" and An Internet connection cannot be established at this time. Re-booting your router may solve this problem, but you will temporarily lose your connection during the reboot.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAm running firmware ver 1.00.19. Set up DDNS with DynDns.Org and all is well. Set up virtual server with DDNS info. Trying to connect to an IPcam (Foscam 8905W). IPcam is set up with static IP with ip outside Belkins DHCP range.
Problem: When trying to access the IPcam through the internet (DynDns) Belkin takes me right to the Belkin router Setup screen, not to the virtual server settings (IPcam). I was able to do it a couple of months ago,but not now. I may have upgraded my firmware in that time from 1.00.12.
I have a 1TB hard drive connected to my N600DB that I use as a media server to my kids Xbox... My problem is that I use this drive to back up all my data from my laptop, including movies, pictures and music. I only want to share the movies... I have over 5000 pictures alone so my router never gets to index all the movies I want to share..

I have a dell inspiron laptop with windows vista installed. I have been traveling all over Germany and automatically detecting internet wherever I go however I cannot detect the dlink wireless access point directly across from me. My work computer is detecting and connecting just fine. I see other wireless networks just not the one I have a password for so I cannot connect. I have reset and seperately restarted the wireless access point but no luck. I am in desperate need of this wireless access. There is no line I can plug into manually either. I have also tried to manually set up the network and that either did not work or I did not go about it correctly.

Anyway I have a Netgear WG602 v3 Wireless Access Point, and I was wondering am I able to put this somewhere else in the house and have it relay the internet connection to my devices (iPhone for example).
I'm in the User Interface of my Belkin Device but I have no clue how to actually set up this Netgear device to act as an AP. I've changed one thing on the Belkin device, not sure if it'll make any difference. I changed the Wireless Band from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz hoping that it'll strengthen the signal. I've attached a print screen of how the User Interface looks like in case any of the knowing would need some guide to where things are placed. =/
EDIT: Also whenever I'm downloading it's a bit slow. I don't have the fastest internet only 1.5Mbps (150kb/s) but now I'm downloading at about 50kb, and from my computer at about 70kb. =/ These are at separate times.
I am using a Verizon Fios system at home. I have a desktop pc on the other side of the house from my modem that does not have wireless capabilities. I read that I can use an access point to connect it to my wireless network. I'm not sure if this is true or not. I set up my Belkin N150 basic router as directed to make it an access point. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Wap610n access point, when I am connected on the device in N mode I got an average speed of 50 bytes per sec, in G mode no problem with an average speed of 2.250 meg per sec .I have tried with 2 different USB keys (Belkin f7d2101 and Hercules hwnum-300) but the result is the same.The access point is configured in 2.4 GHz, band 40 mhz only, and I have verified that no other radio emissions are on the same frequencies than the Wap610n in my neighborhood.
View 7 Replies View Related i have an issue with a 2106 WLC. We have a 44xx series WLC and had an issue with Apple devices: they could not print from wireless. The workaround in the 44xx series WLC was that we have enabled Unicast in the Access Point Multicast mode (configued under Controller/General).
The issue now is that the 2106 wlc does not have unicast in AP multicast mode.
Can I use my F5D7230-4 as an access point? I need to provide a hardwired ethernet connection to my A/V reciever but not have a wired port in the area of my house. I have an existing wireless router thru Century Link. Could I have the Belkin attach itself to the wireless network and then have a cat 5 come out of one of the four ports to connect my A/V reciever to the network?

I thought i was havng problems with the repeater after i change from router to a server, (and i'm now using a router in bridge mode) so the server is managing all the dhcp.. etc, Hence, the router is Running as an access point. The server which is a Hotspot Server does the rest. For some reason, repeaters, do connect to the access point apparently, but when connecting the client to the repeater (instead of access point) I can't get internet access. although i do get access to the repeater setup.and access point setup too.. or if that is the fact that repeaters must be connected to a router, not access point? should I use it as a WDS? or AP-wds? View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router F5D7231-4 and I wish to use it as an access point for my main desktop for my wireless network.
I have followed methods supplied by both Belkin and users and have had no success.
Instructions followed:
- Connect a computer to Belkin router using an ethernet cable.
- Reset the router to factory defaults. The reset button can be found at the botton of it. The reset procedure is given below
- Make sure the router is switched ON.
- Locate the reset button(inside a hole) at the back of the router.
- Use a paper clip, push the reset button and hold it for 30 seconds then release the reset button.
- Unplug the Power cable from back of the router and plug it back again and wait for another 30 seconds.
- Log on to router setup page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of the browser.
- On the left under wireless click on the option Use as Access Point.
- Select Enable and specify the IP address as 192.168.2.254 and subnet mask as 255.255.255.0 and click on apply changes.
Every time the system crashes whilst applying the changes.
I have a Belkin F5D7132 Range extender/access point set up as a repeater for my wireless router as its range isn't adequate but this doesn't provide enough wifi signal strength. Can I set my Belkin device as an access point connected by Ethernet to the router?
