View 5 RepliesI need configuring my N900 router to be able to use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection to get into my computer from a client's location. I also want to be able to host websites I'm developing so my clients can see the changes before publishing to their website. I have not been able to find anywhere what settings to set to what in order for these two things to be available to me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched from an AT&T T1 ISP to Comcast cable, which supplies a motorola modem, pushing 5MBPS downstream. This modem is not recognized by the router, a Belkin wireless G model, F5D7234-4 V5. After numerous attempts to restart both the modem and the router, the modem light does not turn on, nor is a wireless connection recognized by my computer, a new Macbook Pro. The router worked fine with the AT&T connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a persistent any very annoying issue that the router reboots on it's own when I am streaming video from Netflix or other similar applications.
I read some reviews about this router which stated that this was a known problem, but apparently was resolved with latest firmware updates.
My router is new (less than 1 year). It came originally with the 2.0.1.2 firmware which I updated to the 2.0.1.3
That did not resolve the problem. So my question is, is there any aditional configuration necessary to stream video without interruptions, or, is this a hardware problem?

I have the version 3xxx adapter yet I can't get it to work at all.
I've tried letting windows see it, manually pick drivers from the file I download, that doesn't work. I've tried using the installer and that only makes things worse. IT SAYS IT SUPPORTS 64bit 7!
I have a WUSB11 v2.8 laying around but that is even worse looking 64bit driver wise.

I just purchased a Belkin prepmium CAT5e networking cable and plugged it into an internet wall jack and hooked it up to my ps3 and the connection won't work. Does it have to be hooked up to a router? Is a CAT5e cable the same as ethernet? or will I need to buy a different cable?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have this Belkin wireless g router, which I had for a year. I was using the wired connection since then until I, at last, was able to use it's wireless connection but it only lasted around a week. After that, the modem light on the router kept on blinking and the internet light wouldn't turn on. I also couldn't connect to the router anymore(wired and wireless), neither could I configure it. I reset it but it still didn't work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a bit of trouble. I have a Belkin router (this is irrelevant) across the house, which is extended by the Belkin wireless bridge/repeater in my bedroom. The device in my room boosts my WiFi signal for my MacBook and iPhone, and the LAN (ethernet) port on the back allows my Debian server to connect to the network and internet. I have a Linksys switch that I wish to use, for I have another computer that requires an ethernet connection. Here is what happened:Debian 1 is connected via ethernet, no problem.I shut it down, unplug cable. Run cable from bridge to switch's uplink.Plug another ethernet cable into port one on switch, run it to Debian 1.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having a heck of a time getting my gigabit network working off of either my new router, or 2 older ones. Since my house is wired with cat5 cables, I was thinking about putting an 8port router in my networking box that is tucked away in the corner of the house, and then using my new Dlink 857 router as just an access point in a more optimal location in the house.
My questions are as follows:
Would be slower for either the wireless internet speed or the speed of file transfers between the wired computers?
Would I be able to transfer files both ways from the NAS that would be hard wired to the 8-port router? Is there any benefit/disadvantage to my idea that I have not thought of? I know it is possible, but do I want to do it?

I have finally got netgear adapter to connect to router, and its connected, but not able to access any webpages. I am not receiving any bytes back. I had to manually type in a IP address, as it was not picking it up automatically. I have other devices connected to the router (laptop, ipad, iphones) and access web easily. I have tried hard resets, and shut downs all with no avail

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am looking to expand my network. I purchased a WD N900 router to replace my old Linksys E1200 .The internet connection is coming from the modem, into the WD N900 Router. The WD N900 has the printer hooked up to it, and 3 NAS, a computer and our magic jack. I ran 30 feet of network cable and routed the cable through the walls into the section of the house. I am looking to use my old Linksys E1200 to extend my network. I want to hook up the gaming systems (PS3, XBOX360) as well as the entertainment receiver to my Linksys router. What is the best setup? I am looking to be able to access the NAS from the WD N900 on our PS3 and Xbox360 so LAN-LAN looks like the way to go. I tried using the directions on Linksys site, but it doesn't seem to want to work. I test the network cable I ran through the walls, and it is getting a good signal. However when I hook it up to the Linksys E1200 and connect my lap top the Linksys E1200 to test it isn't working.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf your wireless indicator is flashing red when you discover the smurf, it can mean that someone has tried to logon with an incorrect password. this is not necessarily an attack, it could be someone you have allowed access too, who has forgotten the password? In this case entering the correct password will solve the problem. However putting your own MAC address into the filter will simply block your own machine.
