View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a persistent any very annoying issue that the router reboots on it's own when I am streaming video from Netflix or other similar applications.
I read some reviews about this router which stated that this was a known problem, but apparently was resolved with latest firmware updates.
My router is new (less than 1 year). It came originally with the 2.0.1.2 firmware which I updated to the 2.0.1.3
That did not resolve the problem. So my question is, is there any aditional configuration necessary to stream video without interruptions, or, is this a hardware problem?
I have an RV220W which I would like to set bandwidth limiting on. When we upload files to yousendit or an FTP server, it saturates the connection and essentially stops any other traffic until the upload is finished. Looking at the manual, it looks like it should do this, but does not seem clear to me.

But it's a giga port and it must work as a giga port. The new firmware must resolve the problem, and not to be a work around. Or what will be the next, not to use N, only G, or only 20MHz or...
I need the WAP4410n for streaming audio and video?
When I view my DCS-932L camera in the Main Console of DViewCam, I can here the sounds in the room being viewed. But if I record the video and play it back, there is no audio on the playback. I have the microphone on the camera enableI now have sound recording, however, the audio is about 3 seconds behind the video. Is there a setting somewhere to keep them synchronized? I have checked all the video sync checkboxes I can find.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got a new HD Smart TV and trying to stream Netflix and Youtube. Netflix works decent most of the time, buffering occasionally but Youtube buffers all the time and is not watchable. Using a Netgear WGT624 b/g router located some 60 feet away a half floor upstairs. Internet downstream speed is about 5.5 Mbps on the hard wired main computer and laptops show the same speed when connected wirelessly. Wireless Network Connection Status on a laptop close to the TV show "Very Good to Good" signal strength and Speed at 11 Mbps. Why is the Yotube connection so poor on the TV? The Netflix could be better too. Laptop by the TV streams Neflix and Yotube fine but of course that is not HD. Do I need an upgraded router or powerline network adapter?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to stream videos from my PC to my Xbox 360 via the Windows Media Center app. I've got it all set up, my PC detects the 360 just fine and vice-versa. However, when I go into the app on the 360 and select the video to play, it plays it extremely pixelated. Usually it just freezes up on an extremely pixelated frame while the sound of the video continues on as normal. I've tried MP4, MKV, AVI, WMV, etc. all at multiple resolutions all with the same result.I can stream just fine via HBO, Netflix, Amazon, etc. so I don't think it is my network or internet speed. I've tried putting the 360 on a static IP, I've gone through all the FAQ from Microsoft about enabling Windows Services and the like, none of which has made a difference.I am able to stream to my PS3 just fine, so I am not sure what is going on with the 360.

These NMP also have services like Hulu, NetFlix, etc. I plan to sign-up for NetFlix and do the unlimited streaming thing via the WD Hub. I have a 5Mbps broadband pipe which is right at the suggested level for HD streams.....but I think the DIR-655 can prioritize streams/video ?
plan to put the Hub on Static (Reserved) IP address on my network....however, I've never messed with a Router and prioritization. I assume it is something to do with the port(s) used, etc. I have no idea the ports that will be used by the Hub for NetFlix, how/where in the DIR-655 I can accomplish this how to ID the ports used would be great....eg. some variant of Netstat command, etc ?
i've lost the ability to view live streaming video (adobe flash, i think) on several websites. it happened gradually over several weeks and now videos will not load. the dir-615 has functioned flawlessly over several years but it might be showing its age now. connecting directly to my com cast broadband modem fixes the problem. can i tweak the router settings or do i need to replace it?
my setup: dir-615, H/W Ver. E1, F/W Ver. 5.00NA, two wired connections to X Box's and one to Win 7 PC. wireless connections to several Win 7 laptops and other tablets/phones. com cast high speed broadband with their Norton security suite.
if replace.....i need a recommendation. the best bang for a buck while staying within a tight budget.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have an ISP connection that is connected via an ethernet interface on a 5510 ASA. We are allotted 10Mbps. I have currently have the interface set to 10Mbps Full. However we want to upgrade the connection to 25Mbps. I know I can set the port speed to 100Mbps and then set a shape/police statement and shape down to 25Mbps.
Management wants to be able to call the ISP and arbitrarily adjust that speed up temporarily at any time without any user/admin intervention on our side. I can simply leave the port at 100Mbps i.e. no shape statement on my side however I will run into problems with large amounts drops, overruns, retransmissions, etc due to the ISP shaping the connection speed during normal operations. However they then could then adjust the speed at any time without needing me.
I do not know the best way to make this work. Is there some sort of dynamic/smart shaper in the ASA or another cisco device?

The configuration is really simple:
Customers -- Router 3845 -- Internet
I want to be able to provide bundles to customer such 64kps garanteed/ 2mbps MIR (retail) and 2mbps garanteed no MIR (business).
I need also to specify to the router the total internet bandwitdh available (example: 20mbps symetrical).
This configuration will work ? Should I worry about any performance issue if I start to have a lot of customers ?

looking to pick a good managed gigabit switch for my central media server implementation.I will have probably 10-12 tvs connected to this along with other things like ip pbx extensions, music streamers, ip cameras etc.Now I can imagine about 2-3 tvs simultaneously streaming HD quality movies. In that case, I am assuming I will need a minimum 150-200mbps throughput switch. Is my assumption wrong?I have been looking at some switches which seem nice and relatively inexpensive but the throughput is much lower than that.If I wouldnt need that kind of throughput then can you explain me how do I come up with my max limit.I initially thought that since its going to be a gigabit switch it would be able to handle that kind of traffic through all its port at once, but I guess thats not a correct assumption. Throughput is what reall dictates simultaneous maximum? Am I correct?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer is a HP Laptop Model Number DV2815EA running windows vista 32 bit. Its a few years old. Recently i have had problems with my wireless adapter turning itself off whenever i watch videos online. It doesn't happen all the time, but if i am watching something for more than an hour it will cut off. There is a blue light and a switch on the front of the laptop, and when the wireless adapter is off, the light changes to red.
The light will change to red sometimes whilst watching video, and the only way i can turn the wireless back on is if i restart the system. Even if i activate and disable the wireless adapter using the external manual switch, or the internal controls using the wireless assistant. Also, not sure if this is relevant but i can no longer either watch videos on full screen as the image gets jolty.
Things i have tried:
1) restoring the system to a previous restore point - i tried this but for some reason the only restore points i could find were ones dated after i started noticing the problem.
2) reinstalling the wireless adapter driver and video card driver.
3) running a full 6 hour antivirus scan - I am using Eset NOD32 antivirus and also i scanned using comodo cleaning essentials.
I am attempting to connect a video streaming device to my wireless network and it will not accept what I think is the password

Here is the situation we have a 50MB Internet Connection that comes into our network that then hits the ISPs Cisco 3750 which sends it to two of our Cisco 3750s for redundancy. From the 3750 goes into our Cisco 6509 with a FWSM module, then out from there to our distribution switches which are all Cisco 2960s.
What we would like to do is to control how much WAN connectivity each of our VRFs get. Right now we have a Faculty, Student, and Research VRF formed, and are trying to figure out the best spot where we can say Faculty gets 30MB of Bandwidth, Students gets 10, and Research gets 10. If possible would like burst capabilities.
I live in rural Alaska and use satellite internet with 1.5mbps rate and 4gb rolling weekly download limit. I was wondering if there are any wireless routers I can buy that I can set a bandwidth limit for the specific router. Due to teenage girls in the house we hit the weekly limit in a day or two because of all the music videos and such that they watch on you tube, it is annoying getting limited to the 256kbps download rate so often.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having wireless connection/internet issues that are irritating me to the core!!! I have called tech support 4 times now, and I still can't get everything to play nice...I have the 655 set up as a wireless router to a Windows 7 laptop, one iPad, two iTouches, and one N3DS. I can't find a setting that will work with all devices. Here are the senarios...
1) Settings: Wireless enabled, 802.11n only, Auto Scan off-channel set to 1, Best Transmission rate, Channel Width Auto 20/40, Visible, Auto WPA Mode with AES Cipher and a pre-share key. This yields fantastic results with my laptop, it can stream video for entire episodes, and I have no problems with loading webpages in either IE or Firefox. However, it does not support the kids iTouches or N3DS.
2) Changed the above to mixed 802.11n/g AND ALSO tried 802.11 only: iTouches work and can connect to the internet, but laptop doesn't like it. I get "Problem loading webpage" every other time I access and website, and streaming stop every 5-6 minutes. Bars indicate wireless signal is strong, but intermittently get that yellow triangle.
I have 2 links to 2 different departments switch with an up link of 10mb. I want to guarantee that both departments get at least 5mb, but can use part of the other 5mb that not in use. Is this possible?

My goal is to limit incoming bandwith for two specific vlans. So users who are plugged into the switch or connected to the wifi can't go bandwidth crazy.
The rule I currently have setup on the ASA5510 is limiting internal bandwidth, I know shame on me.
So how do I setup a rule on the ASA5510 that will limit users external traffic on vlans without limit internal lan traffic?
