Belkin Routers :: AC1200 Incompatible Cable Modem To Configure
Mar 9, 2013
My Comcast cable modem does not have a 2nd port needed to connect my Belkin AC1200 wireless router. Is there another way to configure this or are my options to either buy a new cable modem or try to upgrade it through Comcast?
add VDSL2 (Fibre broadband) support in a future firmware update to the AC1200 Modem Router - F9J1106v1? If it's not possible to have a single modem firmware that supports both ADSL and VDSL, any separate downloads for the customer to choose depending on which type of broadband connection they have?I am in the UK, my ISP is Plusnet. They use BT Openreach infrastructure. The currently supply the same rebranded Netgear router to both their ADSL and VDSL (Fibre) customers. The only difference being the VDSL modem has custom firmware flashed on it.
N600 router will not comunicate with my desktop computer through a cisco switch. The LAN was working fine when I was using a Linksys router. Is this a compatability problem between Belkin and Linksys products?
I bought this router to temporarily replace my firewall while I wait for it to be replaced. We have a training center that when running full tilt, we probably have 50 devices trying to get on the internet.
I have a f9k1113 V1 or AC 1200 wireless router. I opened RDP - remote desktop to my home pc. Everytime i try to connect from the internet to my home pc the router reboots. I never get connected. It seems when the router sees that type of traffic it reboots.
Access Control on an ac1200 does not seem to flexible enough to include hours from say 8pm - 6am. On my old Linksys I would simply have multiple entries for the same MAC address but this does not seem possible.
I have two AC1200 routers? how do i connect one ac1200 to another ac1200. Only one should act as a DHCP server and broadcast wireless; the other should be simply just a hub (vs. me having to buy a separate hub). What are the correct settings and connections?
I have a Belkin AC1200 Router. It seems working properly re Internet/Wireless connections. When I connect a printer (Canon Pixma MP500) through the USB port the (USB) light doesn't turn on, nor the printer is appearing on the "available devices" (Belkin USB Print and Storage Center).
How can I configure Belkin N1 Vision Modem router to use Back to My Mac? Bcos in iCloud preferences its give me a error message "setup router for better performance"
I have linksys router connected to my cable modem. I want to change it Belkin AC900. How can I keep the linksys connected until I have tested set up for Belkin AC900 router.
Last week, a big storm rolled through my town while I was out of the area on business. I had a working LAN/WLAN for my home & home office, and the modem I was using got fried by the storm. Strangely enough nothing else was affected..Anyway, I went out and bought an identical modem, and had it set up with Comcast. If I connect directly to the modem, everything works perfectly. But when I try to attach my router to the new modem, I have no connectivity over wifi OR hardwired to the router. According to the status light on the router, it can't find a connected modem.I reset the router back to factory settings, installed the newest firmware, and moved my DHCP pool out of the default range. I then power cycled the whole setup - twice - with no success.
I am trying to connect my Linksys E2000 router to my French Sagem modem but the connection is not compatible. Can I buy a cable which is compatible with the connection on a French modem
I have WAG120N and is working fine, but has very poor wifi range. I recently purchased EA 6500. how to setup my WAG120N as a modem only and shift all routing to the EA6500
have wireless d-link adsl modem router which usually use for adsl connection sharing, but i have a cable internet connection, so my question is can i share my cable internet connection with this router?
I just ordered the Linksys WAG120N modem/ router and need configuring the same on the BSNL network. Any Document or link about his Installation and configuration.
I have a Pix 501 running 6.3 code sitting behind a cable modem. I use ip address outside dhcp setroute because I don't have a dedicated IP from my cable provider.
How do I configure the Pix to host VPN connections from my iPad when offsite? Since the outside interface is going to change, I can't configure a static IP.
I'm trying to network a small office and have the following devices:
SMCD3G Cable Modem Belkin Play N600 Router Digi Mil-H1130 8 Port Ethernet SOHO Hub Hubbel Cat5 Patch Panel (goes up to 12)
We're replacing our DSL line with a Cable line. Our DSL was a one piece wireless router/modem. When it was installed, it was inside our office, next to the server, and plugged into Wall Jack 1 for all the other computers to connect to. Our server plugged into this modem/router. We didn't have the Belkin Router at the time. The Patch Panel wires went into the Hub behind our office and everything was fine.
The cable modem is now next to the Hub and Patch Panel. I bought the router since we didn't have the wireless feature that the DSL had and everyone I spoke to said I need a router to set up the office. I ran one of the LAN lines from the modem into the Router where it says Modem (WAN). From the Router, I ran the line 1 (LAN) into the Hub. (Does the number matter if nothing is plugged into it in our office?) No computer is able to connect to the internet except my laptop which connects wireless. It works fine.
Another problem. We have a server computer that's Unix based. In order for anyone to connect to the server to access the office software used, the IP address of the router must be 192.9.2.1 or the computer your using won't connect via Multiview 2000 Terminal Emulator. I can't connect to the server because the IP address of the router is still 192.168.2.1. I don't know where I have to go in the router settings to change it. I've tried a few spots and it tells me the IP address is invalid. The settings I had with the DSL modem/router were:
Modem IP address - 192.9.2.1 Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0 DHCP Start Address - 192.9.2.100 DHCP End Address - 192.9.2.150
It's not like I need to run wires. Everything is set. If something is plugged into a wrong spot, I can switch it.
Additional info: There are 4 computers in the office and 8 numbered wall jacks. Server computer - Wall jack 8 (IP address of this machine - 192.9.2.25) XP Machine 1 - Wall jack 4 (can't connect to server! No internet.) XP Machine 2 - Wall jack 1 (Is able to connect to the server! No internet.) Win CE Machine - Wall jack 9 -
I assume. I have a wire that goes through the wall on this machine and it isn't marked. (Rarely used so not sure about server connection)
Wireless Windows7 laptop - connects to the internet fine since it bypasses all these wires. Can't connect to server.
Under the DHCP client list, only 2 computers are listed. The one that has internet is my computer. The other computer listed is wall jack 4 and that has internet now.
my computer - 192.9.2.2 wall jack 4 - 192.9.2.3
The router IP is 192.168.2.1 and the Cable Modem is 10.1.10.11. If I type either number into my web browser it will take me to the router setup page. I don't know where/how to check if it's only one device acting as DHCP. What I want to do is be able to get online with all the computers as well as have access to the software on the server through the office wall jacks. In order to do that I need the router IP address to be 192.9.2.1 and then I'd be able to connect to it.
Right now, one computer is able to connect to the server via hard wire but can't connect to the internet.Another computer is able to connect to the internet via hard wire but can't connect to the server. My laptop can connect wireless to the internet but not the server. In a perferct world, all the computers should be able to connect to both the internet and the server. Right now, it's one or the other with both hard wired machines and I don't know why. Is there a wire not in the hub right? Is a patch panel wire plugged into the wrong port of the hub? I don't know what's supposed to go where. tell me "wire X from the modem goes to Port Z of the router, and Wire Y from the the router goes to number V on the Hub, and that wire goes to number T on the patch panel for the Port number R in the office to work..." I'll try it.
Then I think all I need to do is change the router's IP address to 192.9.2.1 and everyone should be able to connect to the server through the Multiview 2000 Terminal Emulator. When I tried to change the IP address on the router it's telling me it's not valid. Under LAN settings it says 192.168.2.1 - when I try to change it to 192.9.2.1 it tells me LAN IP address is invalid. I clicked on More Info below that in the router page and a pop up gives me info. It says:
The "IP address" is the Internal IP address of the Router. To access the advanced setupinterface, type this IP address into the address bar of your browser. This address can be changed if needed. To Change the IP address, type in the new IP address and click "ApplyChanges". The IP address you choose should be a non-routable IP. Examples of a non-routable IP are:
192.168.y.x (where y is anything between 0 and 255, and x is anything between 1 and 254.)
10.y.y.x (where y is anything between 0 and 255, and x is anything between 1 and 254.)
172.z.y.x (where z is anything from 16 to 31, and y is anything between 0 and 255, and x is anything between 1 and 254.)
I just got UVERSE and they supplied a new router (or is it a gateway) and my F7D8301 is excess to me. Is there a way to configure the Belkin router as a repeater?
I have a Belkin N450BD that doesn't seem to want to connect with my Siemens modem. The WLAN cable is connected to the WLAN port on my router but the WLAN light on the modem doesn't illuminate.
I was told by my Internet company that my router may not be compatible with my new modem (from them). I have a Basic Wireless Router. Model f7d1301. Purchased about 1 year ago. I was told that Belkin designs it this way so we have to buy a new one regularly. But 1 year!!! That is terrible. Is it true? Is this older router no good? I have purchased a new one and it seems to,have solved the problem. It does take me very happy that I already have to buy a new one....
I reset the f5d9321 router and no connection with modem, power cycled the modem and router and still no connection with the modem. Pc and laptop can connect to internet by connecting to modem. The router worked fine 3 days earlier.
Just bought N150 router. Have fiber optic to PC now. Want to add wirelss to use laptop in other parts of house. Plug cable company CAT5 into port marked "Modem" and then my pc into one of the LAN ports ?
My F5D8235-4 v.2 N+ suddenly stopped working. The security and modem lights are solid lavender and the storage light is solid amber. The router light is solid blue. Internet has no light.
I need configuring my N900 router to be able to use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection to get into my computer from a client's location. I also want to be able to host websites I'm developing so my clients can see the changes before publishing to their website. I have not been able to find anywhere what settings to set to what in order for these two things to be available to me.
