I just bout a Linksys WRT120N today as my venerable WRT54G finely died over the weekend. I'm liking the new one, but the cord is too short. I can't move the router from its old spot, so I need a longer power cord.Does Linksys/Cisco sell longer power cords (for a decent price) or would I be better off buying cheap extension cable for it?
View 2 RepliesI have this phone that was working fine until a friend moved a desk and positioned on top of the cable the goes from the phone to the jack, he did it without knowing it.So we took the cable we went to the store a bought a cable for phone with only one pair of wire, we connected it and it did not get any line tone.I did notice the old cable have two pair of wire.But this is an office phone with two line number so at least one should be working right? I just realize this now.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7 on a system with an Asus P5ND Mobo and am trying to install a Tenda W322P wireless card. The led on the card doesn't light up indicating no power is making it to the card. I have tried installing the drivers off the cd but it says it won't as it cannot detect the card and I installed the drivers from their website but Windows still won't detect it. I have tried turning PCIpnp both on and off at the mobo but nothing seems to make a difference. Have they just sent me a duff card or could it be my mobo or something else?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E3200 router with a USB port on the device. I have connected an Epson Stylus Photo R380 printer directly to the port. I have an iMac 27� connected to it by wireless. I have a PC workstation connected to it by cable. I have 2 laptops connected by wireless.I downloaded the Cisco Connect for the PC and 2 laptops. The PC works great due to being connected by direct cable. The 2 laptops will not recognize the printer connected to the router. For the laptops, I click on Add Device, Printer in your Home, USB printer (it says connect a printer to the USB port on your router), I wait while it checks for drivers, it finds the printer and when I print a test page, I get nothing but the printing error. I can connect the printer to the laptop and it prints just fine.
I downloaded the Ciscon Connect for Mac. Loaded it and it went through the setting up my router. Congratulations! I am now connected to the Internet. Click on Computers and devices to add the printer. Well, my options are Computer, Wireless printer (where is the USB printer option that is shown for the PC), Other wireless devices or USB storage. Well my first choice would be Wireless printer. Next screen is Connecting a wireless printer showing the network information. Click next and wait. Well, it says a wireless printer is not found. I click Finish to get back to the Computers and Devices to make another selection, as in computer. Select Connect Manually using my wireless settings. Another box saying it is connecting a device and gives the network information. Again I wait! It says device not found.
I bought I router today, Linksys E2500 and set it up, for some reason its connected with full strength but the internet does not work on my computer, or any other device connected to the network I established on the router.the interenet still is not working. The modem is fine, as when I disable the wireless connection, the internet works. Yes, I have Sp3 installed.

I have a G router, linksys. I am trying to configure a TiVo N adapter to this router. I have connected the adapter, via an either net connection, to my computer. I have taken the computer off my wireless network. I have opened Explorer and entered the address of the adapter per the TiVo instruction manual. There is supposed to be a setup wizard in the adapter that will start and take me thru the setup of the adapter to my network.

My laptop downloads at 12 mbs and uploads at 5 mbs versus satellite which is about 1 mbs. However, I installed a Linksys N300 usb adapter on my wife's workstation and it is actually slower than 1 mbs. The workstation is about 4 years old running on Vista. I have tried the usb adapter in all four usb slots with no change in performance.

My computer can't detect the router signals since the signal light is off. Neither does my modem show that the router is connected to it through the ethernet cable. My ethernet cable is working fine, since it is working directly with the computer.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to an EA3500 router using Cisco Cloud Connect after my E2700 series router was damaged after a power surge came through coaxial cabling to my house and was transfered to the router over ethernet.
I have my EA3500 running both 2.4 and 5 GHZ networks running as 802.11n only and a Lynksis WRT54GS router for 802.11g network devices that are left in my house connected to the EA3500 over ethernet.
Since upgrading to the EA3500 - I have noticed that I am having some trouble with my internet connection dropping randomly that was not present when I was running the E2700 series using the same configuration.
I have not been able to get my full internet speeds as promised by Comcast over wireless (30 Mbps - using direct ethernet I can get upto 40Mbps). My two printers connected via ethernet through an ethernet bridge are being stubborn, the IP address constantly changes. I have not changed any settings in the router other than the network name and setting it up for dual band configuration.
I've got on-board LAN but I don't know how to use it. Am I meant to be able to surf the internet just like that if i have got on-board LAN???

On my desktop I clicked on the Network icon and it said "3WIRE***" is in range but requires a Network Key (also called a WEP Key or WPA Key)? Could this be the problem? I've never had to enter a password to access my internet before. Do you know how I can find (or reset) my password? It's a D-Link router.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have network: 20 PC's conected to a switch (ordinary switch), from switch to a router (for DHCP and internet conection), Router is connected to a cable modem.
Lately an issue arised. One PC started having problem witch connection (PC is windows 7, up to date). PC instead of 192 addres is getting 169 (i need to highlight it is a problem with only one PC). That means the PC is connected to the Router but it is not getting proper IP addres. After changig the addres to static the connection ws fine for few days and then in networc connection icon (botom right) it came up with 'unidentified network' message. I changed the patchleeds, even changed the connection with known working line (from outlet to patchpanel) and the connection was coming and going. Then I changed network card with the same resoult. I noticed strange thing: While the IP is 169 or when 'unid net' when I unplug the cable from outlet then plug back and do so couple times in one moment the connection is back and stable but only for some period of time. Cables had been re terminated with new jacks and at the patch panel. Drivers for network card are up to date.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few weeks ago, i noticed that my desktop was unable to access the internet, even though it shows that it is connected. i eventually decided taht it must have been a hardware issue, so i bought a new motherboard. after installing the motherboard, an a fresh installation on Windows, i saw after the drivers were installed that the same thing was happening. I pinged sites, and i got no losses on data. i also did a tracer, and it showed me that it is in fact connecting.
I noticed that when I connect the pc to the network(it is always via cable) it recognizes the network as "network", whereas if i use the same connection for my laptop, it brings up the network as "NETGEAR", which is, in fact, my network's name.
I just need to add new connectors and I'm good to go. I can open files, play videos, run programs, etc. Windows installed without a problem.However, I can't connect to the Internet. At all.
