Can't Connect PS3 Wireless To Linksys WAG320N
Nov 26, 2011
A couple years ago I changed my modem/router to a Linksys WAG320N from a D-Link crappy half-broken one.
I used to connect my PS3 via wireless to said modem without any issues whatsoever, but I'm unable to do the same with the Cisco one.
I've tested both the PS3 and WAG320N wireless connections and they work just fine using different modems/routers and PCs. I also used an ethernet cable to connect PS3 and WAG320N and the connection is fine.
When I try to setup the network the following messages pops-up after inputting the router's password: "A connection to the access point could not be established. Check the security settings for the wireless LAN."
What I tried so far:
- Switch WAG320N wireless mode from B/G/N-mixed to Only G (used by PS3)
- Change password protection from WPA2-mixed(AES) to WEP
- Remove password protection
- Change Channel Bandwidth from 40MHz to 20MHz
- Change Wireless Radio Band from 2.4GHz to 5GHz

I have a WAG320N working successfully on an ADSL line. I now have an E4200 that I want to link to it. I have it currently set up with the WAG320N using IP range 192.168.1.1 and the E4200 using 192.168.2.1.The E4200 is setup using the default - Automatic Configuration - DHCP and the internet port is connected to port 1 on the WAG320N. The E4200 links to the WAG320N successfully and picks up the correct external DNS addresses.I want to split the wireless network with the WAG320N providing the 2.4Ghz and the E4200 providing the 5Ghz.

How to configure settings for router E4200I live in Finland and bought new Cisco Linksys WAG320n router modem as I am experienced Cisco user. However after spending several hours and setups on the WAG320n router I cannot get it to connect on the ISP ADSL line.
RFC2684 Bridged
LLC/SNAP
g.dmt or ADSL2+
VPI 0
VCI 100
But once I setup these or acutally any other setting I cannot get the router to connect. With the right settings I can get the DSL PVC status up and connected but the ModemRouter cannot connect and retrieve IP-address from ISP.

I have 2 PCs, an Acer H340 and a network printer wired to the WAG320N; two other PCs are connected wireless. On every PC I have Windows 7 and Ubuntu (except the NAS with WHS).When I boot with Ubuntu on every PC, I can print, I can connect to intenet, open the Web interface of the WAG320N at 192.168.1.1 but I CAN'T see the NAS and the other PCs: this with the wired PCs and the WiFi connected ones. A Galaxy Tab can browse the NAS content and the Web.I didn't had this problem with the modem router I had from the ADSL supplier and the Huawei D100 I used before. On the network map of the Cisco Network Magic the Linux PCs are showed connected to the WAG320N with a dotted line, when the W7 ones are connected with a solid line.

Just recently im having trouble connecting to the wireless Using my hp laptop. The Wireless Was previously working fine though recently, has stopped working, all the other devices on the wireless network work fine (Asus Laptop, Iphone's etc). The hp laptop has no problem in connecting to the neighbours wireless and picking up a signal, however, when i go to search for the WAG320N im unable to find it in the list, sometimes it does appear, but after double clicking has trouble connecting to the wireless and will then dissapear from the list. I have tried manually entering the SSID and Password and seeing if it would connect, and also manually entering the IP address however no luck, no other device on the network has trouble finding the broadcast Signal Apart from the HP DV6-3139TX

This is a bit of a pain as the behaiviour is not consistent. whenever I connect to the Device webpage a number of things may happen
1. There is no connection - the page tries to load but never does. While this happens the router drops the ADSL connection and re-connects. I have to close the browser session and try again later. OR
2. The Browser session connects but at some point after the connection, say when I am trying to save changes or even just browsing through the config pages the session hangs, and again the router drops the ADSL connection and re-connects. I have to close the session and try again later.
I have noticed this happens when I use my OpenSuse 11.4 Linux Box using Firefox 5 or even using my Win 7 Box using IE9.

I have had a wag320n for a while and ever since I bought it, The wireless stops functioning after a day or 2, if I save the settings and then restore the settings (even after it has stopped working) then it works again for a day or to then I have to repeat the process. While it was annoying most of my PC's were wired so it wasn't a major issue but in my new place I am mostly wireless so I am well over it already.

I have a small home network using a Linksys WAG320N which acts as the modem (to connect to BT using PPPoA for ADSL) and provides 4 wired 100Mbs network connections along with a wireless N connections. I use WPA2 (personal) to secure the network and have a white list for allowed wireless devices. Everything works fine.In another part of the house (where I can get a good wireless signal) we have the main TV in the house. Here I have a SKY HD box and a small media player. What I would like to do is connect these two devices to the network and running a network cable is not practical, so I thought I would setup a wireless bridge.I tried a TP-Link bridge borrowed from a friend by this failed to work. I now know this to be because the WAG320N does not support WDS.Will a Linksys WES610N connect to my WAG320N to provide me with what I want?

My wag320N was working fine for a few months but recently has started to drop out. The wireless signal is strong and is used to stream HD movies to a HTPC and also to a media player in different parts of the house. The stream works fine for a while then every 2-5 minutes or so the signal drops to nothing for about 45 seconds, then comes back up to normal and then this repeats for the entire movie.

I have to change ISP, as mine is closing down , and the new ISP will be sending a N router - which may have 5Gh - so I'm thinking of replacng a "G" AP with the WAG320N and use the 5Ghz range. The WAG320N will be used with a USB Music harddrive and a TV and PVR connected to it - so my music will be direct to the DLNA devices - and also provide any devices with a 5Ghz signal

I've had enough of BT's shoddy Home Hub router dying whenever I transfer large files over wifi so I want to go back to a trusty Linksys and I'm looking at the WAG320N.
I've got a family member who is convinced wifi is harmful, so to avoid an argument I've agreed to switch it off at night. My last Linksys let me do this via a custom firmware, but the WAG320N isn't a Linux based model. So, my question is: can I set wifi to switch itself off at night from e.g. 11pm until 8am? Preferably this will be an actual switch-off rather than just preventing access via certain wifi devices.
If it can't do it, any alternative Linksys ADSL2+ modem that can?

I recently replaced my old router with wag320n and I'm concerned about the wireless transfer which is really poor. 2,5Mbps is maximum I get which is really disappointing as I share lots of things on my network and could really use some better data transfer. Distance to the router is irrelevant, 5 metres or 0,5 metres - all the same/I tried different frequencies, 20 and 40 mhz bandwidth, no result as well.I know that 150mbps is just theoretical but 20mbps is 13% of the N standard, that's not what I expected from linksys.Firmware version is V1.00.12, all the advanced wireless settings are set to default. I tried different values but they make no difference at all.

I have a wag320n that works good on ground level, but the modem is standing in mt technical closet where i think is a lot of 'interference' that degrades the wireless signal. So upstairs i am alos working with a wireless...kind of tv server that has a very poor signal from my wag320n. I want to boost that up a bit by using a wap54g on the attic. But i cannot get it to work....it only gives a a wireless signal from my wag320n.

my modem/router WAG320N works ok but wireless client can't see wired and vice versa. they are in the same network (192.168.0. ), using the same 255.255.255.0 mask, same workgroup and yes firewalls allowing all packets in and out. IP addresses are form DHCP.
internet sharing works ok, but when im trying to play any game on LAN wireless clients can see them self but not the wired one. when im trying to ping wireless client from a wired machine it doesn't work either.
what's intresting in a DHCP reservation or ARP table (in router setup) i can see both wired and wireless clients. but still they can not see each other.

I have had a WAG320N running problem free for approx 2 months, in that time I've upgraded the firmware 1.00.12 with no issues and has run fine for a month after upgrade. I have 3 laptops connected wirelessly and 2 pc's running wired (through homeplug system) plus TV, PS3 and ipods, all have run without issues.
All of a sudden 2 days ago all wireless connectivity stopped? SSID is still broadcasting and viewable but I can no longer connect with any computer or device. Wired connectivity is working fine.
I've checked security settings, turned off encryption, reset factory defaults, re-downloaded latest firmware and reflashed with no luck. As I said wirless stopped working all of a sudden with no changes to settings.

I live in a block of flats I decided to buy a proper router on 5GHz. I can see at least 12 wireless networks and all of them on 2.4GHz(mostly BT HomeHubs or other UK ISP wireless boxes). I study CCNA and our teachers recommend cisco routers(linksys) as the best ones. I bought a WAG320N as the best one I could find in the UK market for a fair price. The problem is, that I have less signal on 5GHz than on 2.4GHz. I have maximum 50% of signal on 5GHz and speed is usually below 802.11g, means below 64Mbps! I can't believe it. When I change it to 2.4GHz the signal has up to 80% like my old router TP-Link. The speed is mostly up to 65Mbps, means terrible. I have seen lots of topics about this particular router but I couldn't believe that Cisco sell such awful and unreliable products like this router. I have tried to change the channels on 5 and 2.4GHz but it's always the same, poor speed and low signal. My wireless card is Intel WifiLink 6200 Advanced -N and operating systems Windows 7 and Sabayon linux. I have a laptop and it is cca 6 metres from the router and there are 2 walls. The router is still under warranty so I won't hesitate to return it back to PCWorld.

I have a home network running on a Linksys WAG320n and i have attached to it a WD MyBookLive (w Gigabit Ethernet). I am connected on the network via my Dell with a Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN. I am not able though to connect on N range. I have installed the latest drivers from Intel but nothing changed. When i try to copy a file from my computer to the WD Network drive the transfer rates are very slow. I get Max 2MB/s - 3MB/s while if i connect my computer with a wire the speed goes up by 3-4 times more.

I have both WAG320N and E4200, they are currently linked (wired) together as a bridge (it is not ideal or necessary, but lets move pass this point) and is working fine. But I'd like to place the E4200 on a floor above (which cabling is not an option) and is wondering how the two units can be bridged wirelessly while status quo on everything else.

I purchased a WAG320N and E4200 and have manged to get the modem connected to the internet and it's running fine in that respect, with no adjusting done to the settings. My intentions are to connect the WAG320N to the E4200 wirelessly, as they are in seperate rooms in the house and have done a similar setup in the past with a 7300G Billion Modem and WRT54GL.
With the E4200 I quickly discovered there was no bridge mode out of the box, but checking these forums got the indication that the firmware updates added this capability, so updated it..I entered the IP Address of the Router, the Subnet mask of the network and the Default Gateway / Modem router IP address into the fields, following this guide, but have not been able to get the computers to contact one another, nor ping the other devices.

I'm using a router WAG320N in my home but now i need to expand my lan with another ports and wireless coverage. In a wired point (connect directly to the router) i need 3 ehternet ports and a repetear of a wireless signal. The optimal solution woulb be a switch gigabit with an integrated acces point, but I understand that there is no such thing...So going to buyng the switch SE2500 and the AP WAP610N... but then I realized the existence of the bridge WES610N!But the information on the linksys italian site is not enough and the relative page does not works... i need to now if this object can take a wired lan replicate it in 3 ports and expand the wireless network of my router.

Sometimes when I actively use the LAN (copy a file or stream media), my PC loses connection to both the internet and LAN. It doesn't always happen though. I can always fix it by opening network connections and disabling Local Area Connection and then re-enabling it. However, if I don't do this, the connection stays off indefinitely. The PC that loses connection is on Windows 7 64-bit with Asus P5K integrated ethernet controller with latest drivers. Modem/router is Linksys WAG320N.

I have an intermittent issue with a new WAG320N.Device is new (installed for 1 month now) and is running the latest firmware "out of the box".
Device was confirmed as working (recommended) via the ISP, as it uses a Broadcom chipset, so it works "more reliably" with the ISP's hardware which uses the same chipset.
Setup was painless and the router synced up fine and has been operating for a few weeks. However, twice in the past week the router has become unresponsive to ping over the LAN. Furthermore, the device's lights indicate everything is OK, however I have to reset the router (power cycle) and then it returns to normal.
WIFI is OFF. LAN IP is set manually, DHCP is OFF. The router is plugged into it's own UPS.

I'm trying to play some online games and my WAG320N does not forward ports, upnp does not function and to top it off DMZ wont even work (not a software firewall issue either). I have the latest firmware (and honestly the stock firmware is terrible).
Am I out of luck or is there something I can do to fix this? I sure as hell will be steering clear of linksys products after this.
