I have a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S149 running XP. I recently purchases a Clear 4g Hub(modem and wireless router). When first trying to connect, I entered the wrong network key several times. It then quit asking for the key. So there is no way to enter the right key now since it won't prompt for it. I have no problems connecting to other networks with this computer and I can connect to the Clear hub hard wired. I tried adding the network and that also did not work. The network (WiFiRSU_8f030) also does not show up in the preferred networks. It does appear in the list of available networks, of course
I have a wireless Linksys E1500 router, and for quite a few months now, my router just stopped working properly. It quit, I unplugged everything and plugged it back in, and it worked, but from that point on, it's been displaying this:
I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.
Any way to connect a wifi usb to a wireless router for better wifi connect?? i have wifi but it only gets in the room of the house im in and want it to work though out the house not just one room
At first I can connect to Internet for 1 min and fails afterwards even if I reconnect to the router. Then I turn on the Access Control settings on my (NETGEAR) router and put my laptop into the trusted wireless stations list, now it can connect to Internet for 1 min and fails however it works for another 1 min if i reconnect to the router. So now I need to reconnect to the router every minute or so.I can connect to the Internet via Ethernet cables, so I am quite sure it's the wireless problem on my router but not the service provider's fault.
I have a WRT54GS which works fine with Linux both from both wired and wireless computers using Linux. But I reinstalled Win XP and now I can't reestablish a connection following the EasyLink advisor. I did have a connection under Win XP before.
The last instruction on the Easylink advisor tells me to look for something marked "local" I don't find that word on the screen.
When I try to go to192.168.1.1 it says connection interrupted. If i use the Cisco Connect it tells me i am not connected to the internet. My pc is connected via ethernet cable. My son can pull it up on is laptop and is connect the our Linksys E3000 wirelessly. I can go online, I just cant get to the router.
How to connect two PCs and one DSL router to get on the internet?I am getting IP conflict error on the PC. I can only connect one PC at a time to get to internet.
If I update my firmware on my EA2700 router to be able to use the Cloud, will I loose the ability to connect to my router on 192.168.1.1 ? If this is so, why couldn't linksys let you use both Cloud and 192.168.1.1 in their latest firmware?
I want to use cisco connect with the Router E1200. There is a wireless connection between laptop and E1200 Router. When I run the "Cisco Connect" after couple minutes searching It can not find the Router and I have to put an (Router name SSID) and password.
I have a weird problem. I bought recently a new router, and when I try to connect to the settings on it on http://198.168.0.1 it sometimes works, mostly doesn't. When I ping other devices which are connected it, it's the same; sometimes get a response, mostly I don't. The router model is: TP-LINK 150Mbps Wireless N Router TL-WR740N, The thing which it's connected to is entitled "ADSL2+ Ethernet bridge router" That aforementioned thing is suppoused to be a modem. But, when I try to connect to its settings from http://10.0.0.138 , I'm able to, and other who are connected to the network give response to a ping.
One day I got a blue screen saying there was a hardware or driver failure with the network adapter on the motherboard. I couldn't resolve the problem so I went out and got a new network adaptor. Pluged it in, windows found drivers for it. But I was getting a Unidentified network problem.I have a Linksys E1000 router, internet works on my laptop and xbox360 fine wired and wireless. So I changed ports on the router, changed cables, even changed routers. Still the PC wasn't seeing the router. So I download the latest drivers for the Realtek network adapter, install them, still nothing. So I thought maybe the router is to blame, downloaded the latest firmware and flashed it onto the router, reset it. Still the same. At this point I was sure the new network card was faulty. So I took the computer to the shop where i bought the card. He disabled the old network adapter in the bios. And he had the Internet up and running in the shop. I was happy and took it home... Still the same problem! Rang ISP done a lot of disabling, enabling, static IP no fix... except he told me to bypass the router and try plugging the PC directly to the modem, and that connects fine. I can get internet from the modem, but not through the router, yet everything else works fine though the router. As I said cables and ports in the router have all been changed and checked. When I do the network diagnostics in windows 7 is says, does not have a valid IP configuration.
I bought a Cisco-Linksys E3200 8 months ago and it worked well until last month. I usually power down the router after midnight & power up in the morning and evevry time it can connect to internet through DSL modem without problem until this Feb. Most of the time after powering up the router it just can't connect to internet anymore. I am sure the AT&T DSL modem is working. I have to reboot/reset the router & DSL modem several time to get router to connect to internet again. The order of resetting/rebooting DSL modem & E3200 router seems to make no difference. It just appears suddenly the router can connect to internet by chance. I changed router IP and it didn't work either. It's really annoying becuase I have to spend 10~40 minutes to resetting/rebooting DSL modem & router to get internet connection every day.
I have a BEFSR41 v2.1 wired router which was put aside when replaced with a wireless router. Today I wanted to hook it up and use it again, however my computer was not automatically assigned a connection, and I didn't remember how I last had it set up, so I simply reset the router and tried again.
Since the reset, I have not been able to get a connection to the router from any computer using any port or any cable. The LED lights for ports 1-4 do not light up, and setting a static IP address still does not permit me to connect or even ping the router.
The LEDs light up as normal and go through the patterns during the boot-up process. Once that is finished, all LEDs are off apart from the power light (which is steady). If I plug in the modem to the WAN port, the links light is solid and the Act LED blinks. A loopback connection between ports cause the LEDs to light up fine (tried all port combinations).
If I unplug the power, hold the reset button 15 seconds, then power it back on, plug a connection in from my secondary router to the WAN port, the router shows up in the Active Clients list, but I cannot connect to the IP listed, even if manually associating the IP with the MAC address listed..
Because of all this, I can't re-flash the firmware even using the tftp method, since it fails to connect to the IP address in the first place.
What I have tried so far:
- 30/30/30 reset (multiple times)
- manually setting static IP 192.168.1.100 with gateway 192.168.1.1
- manually associating the ip 192.168.1.1 with the mac address of the router with netsh
My wrt120n router wont connect my ps3, it was working fine, now it dosnt send out a signal, but my computer is wired and works fine. I tried reseting it and leaveing it and the modem unplugged for awhile but didnt work.
I'm getting decent signal through my 3 story home with my new router, however, there are some dead spots on the 3rd floor.
This is my setup:
1. WNDR-3700 Router on main floor
- TV is hooked up router (internet tv) - VOIP modem hooked up to router - USB drive hooked up to router for transferring files from computers upstairs to router USB driver
So basically, the router MUST stay where it is. I'm wondering if it's possible to WIRELESS-LY connect my WNDR-3700 router to another BELKIN wireless router. possible at all?
I have a "normal" router powering my home wireless network and everything is just fine. However, there are some devices that I want to run exclusively over a VPN, but they do not support VPN applications. I understand that there are some VPN routers available that have the VPN support built-in at the firmware level (Buffalo AirStation WZR-HP-AG300H). This is exactly what I need, but I don't want to run my entire home network through the VPN, only certain devices. So, can I do something as simple as connect my VPN router directly to the "normal" router and effectively run two different wireless networks in the house?Would daisy chaining the routers in this way interfere with the VPN tunneling ability?
The internet at my parents house has recently gone on the fritz..the wireless router is a N600 Wireless Dual Band Router WNDR3400..The computers of the house are able to connect to it..But it does not allow internet connections..The 3 computers are an HP Laptop running windows 7.a Dell Dimension E521 Running windows 7 & and an older HP Walmart special running XP.They can connect to outside systems and through a wired connection to the Modem from Cable vision. They replaced the wireless router and the problem continues.Internet is capable by plugging directly into the Cable vision router, unfortunately do not have the cables to try through the Netgear router to test that out..
I'm currently using a laptop with Windows XP and I'm trying to connect to my linksys router but nothing happens when I try to connect with the wireless card utility. I've also tried using the Wireless Zero Config. and nothing happens either. I'm directly connected to the modem right now so I know the modem and router work as I have also connected to it with another laptop. I originally thought that it had something to do with this hpsetup network that my wireless card kept connecting to automatically. I couldn't find any online info about how to get rid of it permanently but after I changed the settings to "only connect to access point networks", my laptop has stopped connecting to it automatically. I can't figure out what exactly is wrong. The only other thing I can think of right now is that I changed the router gateway IP a few weeks back cause my modem and router had the same gateway ip address. Anyways, here's my ipconfig info. while I'm directly connected to my modem. [CODE]
I have been given a bluray player from a friend I would like to connect it to my router so I can get the firm updates and also use the feture bd live,
the player is a panasonic bmp-bd-35
my router is a netgear dg834gt
I have already tried to connect it using a rj45 cable and have found that it doesnt connect to the router and fails,I have tried typing in all kinds of router details i.e ip address and sub net mask and gateway, but no luck,I have tried using command and ipconfig /all but not sure what all the details mean,
I was online playing a game and the electricity went out, so we left for about 2 hours. When we got back we decided to get back online but my laptop decided not to reconnect to the router. The other two laptops had no problem. We reset the router about 3 or 4 times. I deleted the router so i would have to connect for the first time again. I also did a system restore. These attempts all failed. I was able to connect to my boyfriends smart phone, but the signal is too weak to do anything with. I am able to connect via Ethernet but the router is a bad location for me to use it all the time.
My Win 7 laptop is having trouble connecting and maintaining a connection to my neighbor's open network. (laptop is a Lenovo G570 with an Atheros AR9285 card) The connection was actually working fine for several months when it started disconnecting last weekend. My second laptop which is Win XP can still connect and has not had any problems.
I can't, for some reason, connect to my router. Until recently, it has been working fine. Only after I added a switch, and removed it, did it stop working. This isn't like the multitude of other similar problems where some can connect but some can't, NO device, i mean NO DEVICE, can connect to this Acom Router. Even after I unplugged the LAN from it, it refuses to accept my signal. In Mac, it just times out. In windows, it says it can't connect. In D-LInk manager, it times out too. On Apple devices, can't connect too.it's just an external relay router used to extend my signal. I have an exact same one for the ground floor, but that's working fine. I can't seem to find a reset button, and turning it off and on doesn't seem to work, so what can I do? Or should I manually connect to it with a LAN cable and tinker with it?
I have a modem-router with 5 ethernet ports and one usb. But i have only one ethernet cable, and one usb cable. What to do to connect the two pc's? Because I already have set the same workgorup (bothe pc's run xp pro sp2) and nothing happens
My small network is connected to a large private network through a small 8 ports router with some management such as NAT, routing table, etc. In this small network I have a network printer/scanner. How can I access IT from the WAN side.
My gf's Mac and my other brand new computer with W7 won't connect to a new SMC8014WN router we got from our supplier.I was able to hook up my Wii, Iphone and laptop, plus two cable based computers without problem.I tried going to the router IP and enabled Wireless but they are still not allowing access on the 2 mentioned wireless computers. The network shows up, but typing in the password and says "Unable to connect to Network." Also tried the on/off for 10 seconds with the router obviously.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 with updated windows XP. Today I purchased a netgear wireless router N150 and a roku player. I inserted set-up CD after I hooked up cables to computer, modem and router. The message told me that there was no ethernet adapter and spelled the end to my installation.
My wife and I are visiting a church which is allowing us to stay for a week with them so fiddling with their router may not be much of an option. Here is what's going on.Both laptops are running Vista 32My latp top, a compaq, has easily connected to their internet. My wife's laptop tried to connect but cannot. Once you try to connect, in about 2 sec you get a "Windows cannot connect to ......" Once you diagnose it says "wireless authentication failed."
