Cisco :: 12000 SNMP MIB OID For POS Interface Output Packet Drops
Jan 30, 2012
MIB OID and the values.also i want to know the values og output packet and output packet drops MIB OID values of POS interface on GSR router (12000).because i am getting many output packet drops on these pos interface.how do i get these values from the router.
I have too much output drops in my cisco 7206 VxR NPE G1 router. I'm doing dot1Q on this interface and is connected to switch , i changed the router and IOS but still the error is same . What can be the reason . The interface on switch and router are 1000/Full and i changed the cable also . The traffic only comes about max70Mbps and it is really confusing. [code]
I have 2 Cat-6506's that are used for my WiSM's. The only thing in both Chassis is 2 X WiSMs a SUP-7203A and a 6516A line card. The only connection between the rest of the network and these chassis is on port gig 1/2.[code] If I have read other posts correctly all points to the ASIC being overun by that traffic being sent from my WiSMs out to the Network.
i noticed the "output drops" increasing in interface gi 1/0/1 in my switch 2960-S although the utilization of my interface is between 20% and 50 %
SW__A#sh interfaces gigabitEthernet 1/0/1 GigabitEthernet1/0/1 is up, line protocol is up (connected) MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec, reliability 255/255, txload 93/255, rxload 3/255 Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set Keepalive set (10 sec)
I am seeing Interface output drops that appera to be incorrect. When I do "Show Interface gi1/0/20", I will get interface output drops of "4294961382". But, when I do the same command again it shows "0" drops. Is this a reporting error? I am ruinning c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-58.SE.bin on a 3750 stack with 2 switches in the stack. [code]
One of my Catalyst 3750 switch have many out drops, I execute "sh mls qos int g2/0/3 statist" command, there are many output drops in queue3 threshold3. [code]
We have a Cisco 1760 router . We are facing sevier packet drops in the serial interface.
When i swap the router with another router link is working working fine.
Troubleshooting steps taken
1. Swap the serial cable with another working cable : no change in state
2. Reconfigure the encapsulation commands (with PPP and HDLC) : no change in state
3. Try with a decreased MTU packet Ping : no change in state
4. Decreased the Input queue and increased the output queue size using hold-queue in command : Comparatively the packet drop is reducing but still a 10 percent drop is happening.
I am trying to troubleshoot a problem where in one of my remote site is not able to access some networks at HQ over Site to SIte VPN ( asa 5505 at Remote and 5520 at HQ). I ran packet tracer and HQ ASA looks clean as everything came out as ALLOW. Remote site ASA packet tracer give me DROP out at Phase 9 (VPN). I am not very sure what to look in ASA for resolution now. Is it an access list that is blocking the traffice or VPN setup.
I have a video feed coming into my 3570. It comes in at 5 minute input rate 18777000 bits/sec, 1695 packets/sec. However, the uplink to the router is much different, 5 minute output rate 130000 bits/sec, 28 packets/sec. I am in a lab and about ready to go into testing phase for a project when we discovered this problem, as this video feed is not veiwable on the other end.
Below is the config and capture from the switch.

In my cisco 3845 router I can see output packet drop in some of the interfaces.I suspect that router is processing packet beyond its mix throughput limit. Moreover when i run show int fax/y switching command I can see packet drop by RP process.
when using egress netflow (v9) and output marking.
The topologie : Server <-----> R1 1>-----<1 R2 2>----<2 R3
R2 is a 7200 with c7200p-adventerprisek9-mz.124-15.T11.bin What I'm doing :- R2 forwards ping packets from Server to R3. When they arrive on R2, icmp packets are marked with CS3
- I change the DSCP to CS4 on R2 before forwarding packet to R3. I'm using for that an output service-policy on the R2-2 interface like this : interface ATM2/0.36 point-to-point
ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.252 ip flow ingress ip flow egress
Is there a way to ask the above switch how much power it's supplying to various ports?I've found some stuff in POWER-ETHERNET-MIB, but it's only the main power supply and the up/down status of the various ports.
It looks like what I want is

I have a 3750X-24T in our production environment that is showing very high number of OQD's in the 'show int sum' output for 4 of the Gigabit interfaces; the interfaces are each in a seperate port channel and there are no OQD's for the relevant port channel and there are no output drops showing in the output for the 'sh int' command for each interface.
The following are the OQD's for the relenvant interfaces Gi1/1/1: 0 Gi1/1/2: 0 Gi1/1/3: 0 Gi1/1/4: 0 Gi2/1/1: 4252879251 Gi2/1/2: 4251090833 Gi2/1/3: 4251754140 Gi2/1/4: 4294942102 Po1: 0 Po2: 0 Po3: 0 P04: 0

I have an issue with an ASR 1001. The problem occurs with MQC shaping applied to a gigabit interface in the outbound direction. The CIR of the provider we are using is 100Mb/sec, so we are shaping to that value. However when reported traffic levels are about 60Mb/sec, we see a steady increase in output drops. [code]
I have also tried increasing the hold queue, however this does not work with the drops. Increasing the shaping rate to 200Mb/sec gets rid of almost all the drops (not quite all!) but is not what we need. I think that we should see some drops when rates spike above 100mb, however the amount we are seeing seems excessive?
We have a 7613 w/ WS-SUP720-3BXL running 12.2(18)SXF11. We have a 48 port WS-X6748-GE-TX that has one interface that keeps getting output drops for anything over 200Mb/sec.
See the attached file which has more details and show results.
All devices are interconected via optical 1Gb/s links. There is no QoS implemented on any device and all VLANs are allowed on all interfaces. Also all links are trunks (with many VLANs)
In LAN1 there was a layer 2 broadcast-storm and 4000packets/s was comming to rest of the network (in one particular VLAN).
1) 7200 with G1 should be able to handle traffic up to 500Mb/s, but a lot of users experienced drops on traffic via 7200. (CPU load was around 10%).
2) Why do I have input drops on 7200 on link toward 6500 if CPU was normal. Broadcast comming to this interfaces were cca 4kpps. But since it's destination is not on router these packets should be rejected on interface controller. Is that right? (7200 doesn't even has dot1q subinterface in that VLAN but since 6500 allow all VLANs on its trunk these packets reach 7200)
3) Why do I have output drops on Cisco 6500 (it is here as layer 2 device only)? It is max 160Mb/s in output direction. It has WS6724 card with DFC (there is no oversubscription).. Shouln't 6500 send traffic as fast as interface allows (up to 1Gb/s). Am I righ't?
4) After all how coul'd 6500 now if 7200 can't handle these traffic?Output drops should be only seen if QoS is enabled (i.e. shaping), or if there is oversubscription on the linecard?
Why my OC3 interface is showing increasing output drops its starts happening as soon traffic exceed 60Mbps ( FYI my traffic never exceeded 75Mbps MAX, and circuit is 150Mbps from carrier , full OC3)

I have a 48 port 2960 switch with 2 10/100 ports ( fa0/46-47) setup in an etherchannel with a 2950 48 port switch. I am getting total output drops on port fa0/47. [code]
I found increasing of total output drops and output queue drops even input rate was low and no qos apply on this interface. I plan to increase hold queue out for output queue.

We had a system outage due to power problems a few days ago, and now our WLC is showing short term packet loss when monitoring it using SNMP. We also monitor it using ICMP, but that shows no packet loss. I looked at the interface statistics on the WLC and all of the switches in between and there are no errors to be seen. is there any way to troubleshoot this problem on the WLC? I am more familiar with IOS than the WLC CLI.
I have quite a few 2960's in a manufacturing environment that are experiencing a large number of Total Output Drops. The gigabit uplinks arn't even close to fully subscribed and if I'm lucky they run at a peak of 4 - 5 Mb on a 1Gb uplink. Something really funky is going on. The individual switchports seem to have the total output drops and the uplinks at 1Gb do not have any output drops and never peak above 20Mb over a 3 month span on a 1Gb link.
We are seeing some high output drops on our 3560G's and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to solve this, or should I just be looking at an upgrade.I do not have qos enabled:
do-rs-ah-3560g#show mls qos QoS is disabled QoS ip packet dscp rewrite is enabled
I don't have anything special configured apart from some trunk ports, otherwise its mostly defaults.Should I enable qos and tweak the buffering?
I have a 3560X that is directly connected to an ASA 5505. I am seeing output drops on the 3560X interface that connects to the ASA. Below are the troubleshooting commands I have ran, but I don't see any indication to what is causing the problem.
3560X show run int gig 0/24 ! interface GigabitEthernet0/24
Have got 2 6500 in VSS. I'm seeing unsual high output drops. IOS Version: advipservicesk9-mz.151-1.SY.bin
Seeing too much output drops on interface ( in millions). When checked buffers ( output pasted below), it also shows enourmous drops. Not too sure, but is this normal or is there something fishy; which needs to be investigated. [code]
I've got a recurring them developing across several deployments of Catalyst 3750X series switches, I'm seeing large amount of output drops across multiple ports but there are is no QoS deployed on any of these switches. (standard FiFO). As it happens the ports in question are a member of EtherChannel groups which are connected to ESX Hosts.I've also seen this behaviour also unexplained on another 3750X at a different site, however it's a single port and connects to an Upstream firewall. However in both cases neither switch has any QoS or non-standard configuration, literally a couple of VLAN's and some EtherChannel groups. Here's some output from the case involving the ESX servers.
I have seen an error in GRE configured between two routers over WAN. i am monitoring the WAN link and GRe tunnel via WhatsupGold NMS and it reported that Gre tunnel having packet loss sometimes and this time it affects the services and traffic passing over tunnel.sh int t101 shows output drops . is that the problem ? i have read that i have to adjust MTC size but i tried to change the tunnel MTU to 1400 but still sh int t101 shows MTU as 1514 ? What could be the problem of output drops in my tunnel link. [code]
I have a Catalyst Switch that is been used as a SAN switch providing ISCSI connection for servers. The total output drops of the interfaces connected to the SAN and some connected to the servers keep increasing.

I checked and found two registered bug id: CSCtq86186 / CSCso81660.I would like to know what is the best IOS version to update my switch, IOS 15.0.2 SE2 or 12.2.58 SE2, by the way, my environment is very critical (data center) and the version 15.0.2 SE2 is very recent, but its stable ?In both versions the problem are fixed?
