Cisco :: 3750 Does General Document Exists Regarding Licensing Count Of Monitored Devices
May 21, 2013
I am having some question around Prime Infrastructure..Does a general document exists regarding the licensing count of monitored devices ? Indeed I am wondering about the specific points. Is it true that :
- A 3750 stack unit count as one (for example a 4 units stack consumes 4 license) ?
- A WLC (except 5500) does not consume a license but only the Lightweight APs.
- An autonomous AP does not consumes a Lifecycle licence ?
I am looking for a reference document for the type of devices that are supported under 5Ghz. We are using a 5500 WLC and 3600 WAPs. Lot of users cannot connect to network via mobile devices. Is there a reference doc from cisco which i can use to inform them?
I have a 4 member stack of 3750's. We would like to take advantage of wccp and we understand that we will need to upgrade our switch licensing from IPBase to IPServices. My question is do we need to pay for a license for each member in the stack or does one IPServices license upgrade cover the whole stack?
We have two 3750-x stacked switches with IP base license. We need to upgrade them to IP services license. I read some where that it is possible to install IP serivces license to only management switch and no need to purchase/install same license to other switches on the stack. But, I could not find/recall where I read it and as far as I know it was not official cisco documentation.
I upgraded an image on 3750 from Lan base to IP base, it worked fine. howver im just wondering if there any licensing implications, did the upgrade a few weeks ago, would the switches still work on a temp license somehow?

I am working on implementing ACS appliances. All working ok, until I try to add an attribute to the Shell profile (priv-lvl = 15). When I do this, the runtime process shutsdown (on both primary and secondary devices) and no further device authentications can be made. I can reinitialise the database without issue at the moment, but I'd like to know what causes this and how to prevent from happening in the future - when the database will becoem much more critical.Do I need to raise a TAC case?
After an upgrade from ACS 5.1 to 5.3 the view-logprocessor are not running any more. I also installed the newest patch 5.3.0.40.1. The installations are success but the view-logprocessor steal are not working.
I have (2) 942-L, and (1) 5222-L on one network. port forwarding set on router; (942) 192.168.1.3:1024, (942) 192.168.1.4:1025, and (5222) 192.168.1.8:80. no matter if all 3 are connected to dViewCam, only two will work at a time. Disconnect any third, and they work fine. reconnect 3rd, and one disconnects intermittently. On a side note, if I run a different program on another computer (iMac); i.e. IP Camera Viewer, they all work fine. I know, I know, but I like DViewCam, because it's the only thing running the PC computer.
My DFM is showing 40 devices in the "Questioned" State. Lots of them are 3750 switches and 2801 routers. It has "Known" a few of the 3750s and 2800s, but most of them are Questioned. How do I go about troubleshooting this? It's
DFM 3.2.0, part of LMS 3.2; I tried to reinitalize the DFM database, but that caused all sorts of other issues like my ANIServer not running anymore etc. I have a ticket open with TAC for that issue though.
When I do an Inventory Collection, the job doesn´t work with some devices and I have to restart the server. The job doesn´t fail but the log ICServer.log doesn´t got any information and it works for hours and hours and when it finally stops I can see that devices are not attempted.
I have done some succesfull Inventory Collections with Cisco 3750 switches and 805 routes. I have tried witch Cisco 2811 routers and 2950 and 2960 switches but it doesn´t work.
I have tried to update my LMS4.0.1 but it doesn´t find any actualization. However, in the Cisco download page there are some patches.
i am setting up a new Monitoring System (CA Netvoyant). It has some default Cisco monitoring capabilities ( I believe these are soem standard MIBs). I am wondering how can I add more useful Cisco MIBs for the devices I have in my network. There are thousands of MIBs and it looks like it is not easy at all to find the useful ones. For example the MIBs that can give you Emergency and up to warning level information, cpu, memory, interface errors, module failures (in case of Cat 6500), FWSM, BGP, VPN tunnel status notifications. Is there a list of useful MIBs for each device type, like Cat 6500, ASA5540, Cat 3750-E etc depending on IOS Image? setting up the SNMP monitoring system?
Everyday a few of the computer will error with "A duplicate name exists on the network:" A quick Google search shows the same answer EVERYWHERE on the internet. So I changed the names of a few of the computers too something I knew was unique. Still though the problem persists/ it afters the two XP bases computers the most, but my main workstations (windows 7 sp1) has had this error a few times, although it appears to have left for a while. I have a feenas server but Active directory is not turned on.My router is a e4200. I was using DHCP server on there (and would very much still like to) although I have turning it off, rebooted both the router and the computers but to no avail.
I've a router C877 and my provider has changed the connection to vdsl2. I'd like to know if it exists any upgrade of a new IOS for this router to supports vdsl and vdsl2.
A network administrator wants to capture some network data. He opens Wireshark software, start capturing, and does the following:In PC-A, runs a command in command prompt. The network admin issues the command and sees there is ping response from the google.
I am the owner of an Asus N53SV series laptop running windows 7 home premium. I factory reset my PC in order to have a "fresh" new year, but now I can only connect to the wireless internet in my house using the ethernet cable. When the cable is unplugged, no networks show up for my laptop. I tried going to this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download N53SV I downloaded the first wireless driver listed...and it gave me an error that just said "error azureware wireless lan driver"....not a very informative error.
I am getting very frustrated trying to modify/create ACL's on my SG300-20 switch.I have the switch in L3 mode. I have created several VLAN's and ACL's for each VLAN controlling their access to each other. After the initial setup, I have started trying to create more VLAN ACL rules to allow more access between the VLAN's. The problem I keep running in to is that when I go to modify the ACE's in the ACL, I keep getting the error message "Entry already exists". For example, I go to modify the port ranges to tighten them up, and try to save the ACE after modifying it, and I get that error message.
I moved my computer and now its moving slow I scanned a document that took forever and when I went to save it (after I finally got it to bring up the folder I wanted to save it in) after 5 minutes it was still on page 2 of the save and I finally rebooted the computer.
I use a CISCO ASA 5505 with ASA 8.3. Everything works fine, but when I type the following line I get an error message:
nat (inside, outside) source dynamic OBJ_SPECIFIC_192-168-1-0 10.1.5.5ERROR: 10.1.5.5 doesn't match an existing object or object-groupI even tried to create the missing object but it did not work. The document also explains how to use ASDM for this configuration. It seems that there an object 10.1.5.5. is created.
Whenever I tried to do backup of CiscoWorks from GUI, I am receiving a error message"Backup failed. ERROR(292): C:PROGRA~1CSCOpx/backup.LOCK file exists, look into the log file C:/PROGRA~1/XCSCOpx/log/dbbackup.log for more details". backup.LOCK file size is 0KB.I am using LMS 3.2; RME 4.3.0;CM 5.2.0
I'm not sure if this is even possible, but I'm currently changing from saving my documents on my desktop to a server. However, I like working with files from my desktop for ease of use. Is there any way to save a document in the server, while working with the document as it exists on my desktop (e.g. set the file up to save in two locations)?
I've a customer who has netManager 1.0 and they want to upgrade to CUOM 8.6. I didn't find any upgrade document for netManager 1.0 upgrade to CUOM 8.6.
we are using single cisco 3845 gateway as Ingress as well as vxml gateway . Can you provide any documentation regarding the call volume capacity this gateway can handle. We have deployed this gateway in a UCCE parent- child model.
I have been assigned to find out the nature of the network's bandwidth utilazation. Is there a way to analyze traffic and breakdown the traffic on the ASA5510?
I have a big problem with my Cisco 1841 and the WIC-1AM-V2 in Slot 0.I got the task, to test if it is possible, to build up a connection (Dial on Demand Routing) to a remote modem, which is connected to a console port of another Cisco 1841, with the integrated modem card over POTS from the CLI of the router. My router will only dial out to the remote modems and only if its needed.I am connected to the router with the integrated modem card over a console cable on the console port. The remote modem is also connected to the console port of the remote Cisco 1841.
I found out, with my Dialer Profile configuration, it is possible to build up a connection. I configured a dialer list, that specifies that all ip traffic is permitted an interesting for my dialer interface. So a telnet or ping brings up my dialer, which brings up my Async interface. With the "show line" command, I can see that the TTY line, connected with the Async0/0/0 Interface is in use for 5 minutes, because of the "exec-timeout 5 0", which is configured on the remote router. Now the problem is, in this 5 minutes, I can not use a remote telnet on this line with my loopback interface, because the line is already in use and I get a "connection refused". The first telnet I use runs in a timeout, because the remote host is not responding. When I dial out directly from the modem card and not from the CLI with the AT-commands, I get also the connection and with a return i get the login prompt. I will post my actual config, so that you can see maybe a mistake I did or which command I must use, to get a working connection. [code]
The company I work for has a small network and it has a windows 2000 server. When the Canon iRC 2880 printer is connected the server gives a error saying that a duplicate name exits in the network. I tried changing the IP address as well. When I changed the IP address of the printer the duplicate IP address moved the new IP address.
I have a situation, where I dont need email and where is no SMTP server in this network, but I need CCO-access for EoX/PSIRT from LMS. Because both settings are in the same menu and LMS4.0.1 does real TCP:25 checking for given SMTP-server before can apply, I cant save my CCO-credentials. What can I do?
