My DFM is showing 40 devices in the "Questioned" State. Lots of them are 3750 switches and 2801 routers. It has "Known" a few of the 3750s and 2800s, but most of them are Questioned. How do I go about troubleshooting this? It's
DFM 3.2.0, part of LMS 3.2;
I tried to reinitalize the DFM database, but that caused all sorts of other issues like my ANIServer not running anymore etc. I have a ticket open with TAC for that issue though.
I any running Cisco Works LMS 4.0 on Windows 2008 Enterperise Edition with SP2.I am facing 2 issue which are below:
1. Get message "You are using unsupported Version". As per Cisco document Windows 2008 Ent edition is support by LMS 4.0 2. All of my devices are showing unreachable. I already double check the Devices Credential include SNMP (Read and Write community) and Username and passwords.I can accessble all devices via telnet from the same Cisco Works Machine.
We had an existing installation of LMS 4.1 which seemed to have worked fine with the exception that it was giving problems with logging Syslog events. We tried everything to resolve it and then we found a link on this very site that explained that there was a bug in displaying Syslog events on LMS 4.1. It is important to state that we would get a few Syslog events but the rest were either filtered or discarded. As per the bug toolkit, we realized that we had to upgrade to LMS 4.2 to have the bug resolved. This was not a problem and we installed LMS 4.2 as a direct upgrade to LMS 4.1. We backed up our existing data and the installation process migrated everythin automatically. Now, LMS 4.2 is installed and our objective of having Syslog messages are being received regularly as we wanted.unfortunately, when we try to generate a report such as "Detailed Device" report and try to select All Devices from the Device Selector menu, we do not see any of our devices. However, we do find our devices listed under User-Defined Groups -> (Our DCR). Based on this, we can generate reports and everything is fine.Yet, we are doing this for a client of ours and they expect to see these devices listed in the "All Devices" section of the device selector. Apart from that, everything seems to be working fine.
I have added all of the devices to DCR and they show up with their hostname value in all of the device trees except for the fault manager views. In all of the fault manager views the hostname is not being used for the Devie Name field, rather the IP address is being used.
A particular & ungreatful person abused my laptop to the point where I had to install a password. I had to perform all kinda of removal actions but I just noticed in my network domain that his name followed by "PC" & under "media devices" & "network infrastructure" contains his name again w/ PC & devices called [TV]UNE40ES6100.I am using the program's wireless service which I am allowed-to. I just want to remove this person from my laptop. It won't delete when r. clicking. I have win 7 and use this laptop mainly for my online school & email.
We are using Campus Manager 5.2 with LMS 3.2. We have 100 devices and all 100 devices has been successfully discovered in Common services in all 100 devices are showing in DCR.When we check in RME we have found all 100 devices over there.
But, in Campus Manager we got only 95 devices. out of 88 WS-C2960G-24TC-L 5 switches are not showing in Campus manager. we have added the same manully ( manually included & Ecluded all 5 devices in Campus manager) and start the data collection, but no result.
After data collection it is showing not managed by Campus Manager when we check ( Show all Included devices option).
I noticed a TON of random devices showing up in my Network within Windows 7. When I say a ton, I mean 739! I am not computer illiterate, but definitely not a pro. My router is WEP password protected, so I'm not sure on earth is going on here. I thought maybe I had a torrent program open that could be affecting this somehow, but I don't..
I'm using the EA4500 router with Cisco Cloud Connect. I've noticed under Devices I'll see devices named "Network Device". They have a generic MAC address with something like "00:00:00:00:2F". They will have an IP that's already assigned to another device.
I just got a DIR-655 and set it all up pretty easily. I have 6 wired and 3 wireless. All work fine and all are set to use DHCP. But if I go (in the router) to the Lan Computers list under Device Info, three devices (2 wired, 1 wireless) do not appear. I do have a switch added to the system, but of the three devices connected to it, 1 shows in th Lan Computers list and the other 2 do not.Since everything works, I'm mostly just curious why this is. Every previous router I've had showed everything correctly.
We have several stacks of 3750 switches where this problem is occurring. All of the switches are running IOS version 12.2(50)SE3. (Yes, I know it's old.)
We're seeing inconsistency in how the stack reports members when issuing the following commands:
sow switch show version show inventory
Not all members are showing up in the output of the "show version" and "show inventory" commands. For example:
HUNTI-WV-WDAC03#sh switch H/W Current Switch# Role Mac Address Priority Version State ---------------------------------------------------------- 1 Member 108c.cff2.ea00 15 0 Ready 2 Member 8cb6.4f0a.a600 1 0 Ready *3 Master 8cb6.4f0a.9c00 1 0 Ready (all three switches in stack are displayed)(code)
I have installed a Catalyst 2960-S and a 3750-X-12S and I am trying to setup a VLAN 51 for some VoIP phones. I have added the VLAN as an interface on both switches, but the 3750 is not showing VLAN 51 as active when i do a show vlan. Also, it omitts showing Gi1/0/1 & Gi1/0/3 which are uplinks to 2960-S switches plugged in and working on VLAN1.
Catalyst3750SFP#show vlan VLAN Name Status Ports ---- -------------------------------- --------- ------------------------------- 1 default active Gi1/0/2, Gi1/0/4, Gi1/0/5
We have a stack setup with 2 C3750x-12s and 5 C3750x-48p switches. We have two of these stacks. One is working and responding with snmp just fine. Our second one is showing the errors in the logThe only difference i see between the two stacks right now are the sw versions.
In our company 3nos Cisco 3750 (WS-C3750-48P) access switch in stake mode. All port are assigned with voice and data Vlan also Avaya IP connected with this switches. From last few days tow port 2/0/7 and 2/0/8 is showing amber and status is showing err-disable. At Avaya end it is showing a message “ETHERNET WAITING” in phone dispaly. I try to connect laptop directly with these ports but it is showing "Cross Connectivity". [code]
I notice that show inventory not showing all members in a 3750-stack after we merged two stacks. Its only showing the master of the new stack, and the previous master of the old stack.
We have a cisco 3750-48 port switch. We have a few SVI's configured and some static routes configured.I had created a new interface vlan and gave it an IP. I can ping the gateway.
Now I want to add a static route to go out that interface.when I add: ip route 10.x.x.x 255.255.255.0 10.52.10.1
it eccepts it (no errors) But, it does not show in the routing table nor in the config? How to add the static route to go out that vlan interface.
When I do an Inventory Collection, the job doesn´t work with some devices and I have to restart the server. The job doesn´t fail but the log ICServer.log doesn´t got any information and it works for hours and hours and when it finally stops I can see that devices are not attempted.
I have done some succesfull Inventory Collections with Cisco 3750 switches and 805 routes. I have tried witch Cisco 2811 routers and 2950 and 2960 switches but it doesn´t work.
I have tried to update my LMS4.0.1 but it doesn´t find any actualization. However, in the Cisco download page there are some patches.
i am setting up a new Monitoring System (CA Netvoyant). It has some default Cisco monitoring capabilities ( I believe these are soem standard MIBs). I am wondering how can I add more useful Cisco MIBs for the devices I have in my network. There are thousands of MIBs and it looks like it is not easy at all to find the useful ones. For example the MIBs that can give you Emergency and up to warning level information, cpu, memory, interface errors, module failures (in case of Cat 6500), FWSM, BGP, VPN tunnel status notifications. Is there a list of useful MIBs for each device type, like Cat 6500, ASA5540, Cat 3750-E etc depending on IOS Image? setting up the SNMP monitoring system?
I am having some question around Prime Infrastructure..Does a general document exists regarding the licensing count of monitored devices ? Indeed I am wondering about the specific points. Is it true that :
- A 3750 stack unit count as one (for example a 4 units stack consumes 4 license) ? - A WLC (except 5500) does not consume a license but only the Lightweight APs. - An autonomous AP does not consumes a Lifecycle licence ?
my computer is a dell dimension 1100, with a Linksys WMP54G wifi card, running vista home basic. In the wifi thing in the notification area, it shows two wireless networks, One is my normal SSID (Lower Net), and one is "Unidentified network". They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.
Currently my home network is being switched via TrendNet TEGs80G unmanaged gig switches. I have been using them for about a year now with no issues. As my home network becomes more advanced, I recently just added a Cisco ASA5505, I am thinking about swapping those unmanaged devices, 4 of them, to managed. I was looking at the Cisco SG300-10 for upstairs, and a 16 port variant for my main core. These devices do not support full Cisco IOS cli, but they are manageable with a rich feature set nonetheless. My question is, should I swap the unmanaged devices with the more expensive Cisco devices, or just keep what works and save the money until I really need to spend it. As previously stated, my home LAN works just fine as it is, however my WiFi, NTV550s, server and workstations are all on the same network. Probably not the most secure but it is what it is without VLAN support.
I have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully. I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses. If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However, I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices? I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address. I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible. I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.
All of a sudden my laptop, android phone and blu ray player (all wireless devices) can't communicate with my wired devices (marantz receiver and samsung tv). Everything still connects to the internet independently but i can't for instance play music from my wireless laptop to my wired marantz receiver. I had no trouble with this last week and didn't change anything (that I'm aware of) I did get Verizon to switch out my router but it didn't solve anything. My wife's computer also cannot connect to wired devices. Lastly, if I connect my laptop with via ethernet cable it sees wired devices fine. I tried shutting off windows firewall but didn't work. I have no other firewall/virus software installed. I can ping to all devices (wired and wireless) from my laptop.
I'm looking at adding a Cisco 3750-X switch running c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE1 (IP base license) into a stack of 3750-G switches running c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE1.bin Given that the version and feature sets are the same I don't forsee any compatibility issues. Would there be any reason why a universal image wouldn't stack correctly with other switches running the single .bin file?
We have a stack of switches that is at the max number of members allowed in the stack. Problem is we are running out of port density and need to add more ports. So instead of adding a whole new stack I would rather replace 2 of the 24-port swicthes with 48-port switches.
If the two 24-port swicthes we are removing are stack members and neither of them are the stack master, I should be able to replace the 24-port switches with the 48-port switches without bringing the master offline? If the new 48-port switches are running the same IOS version as the current 24-port swicthes, they should add themselves to the stack?Would I have to tell the new 48-port swicthes what switch numbers they are replacing in order for them to be added to the stack since we are at the max number of members? Also since the 48-port swicthes are replacing 24-port switches will the master give the 48-port switches the configuration for only the 24-ports?
I upgraded WCS to 7.0.22 and the WLC to 7.1.91.0 so that I could add four 3602i's. Funny thing is that they all work fine except that none of their LED's are 'lit' up. They look dead.
I have successfully set up a pptp vpn from my new rv220w. I have also successfully logged in using 2 seperate laptops and also my iPhone. They all work great. There is one issue. When connected and I log into the router it does not show these laptops or iPhone as being connected to the vpn. There is two spots that its supposed to show the page refreshes and shows nothing connected. Is there a setting I am missing?
I've configured a couple of ACL rules via CLI in my ASA. When i checked in the ASDM, it only shows the basic rules that was configured by default and did not show the rules that i've created.
I have router cisco 1006 ... when I no shutdown the interface this appear to me.
Router(config)#interface gigabitEthernet 2/1/0 Router(config-if)#no Router(config-if)#no sh Router(config-if)#no shutdown Router(config-if)# *Jan 20 08:50:01.239: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet2/1/0, changed state to down *Jan 20 08:50:01.140: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: SIP2/1: Interface GigabitEthernet2/1/0, changed state to down.
I have several APs directly connected to a Cisco 3560 and each port is configured this way....
interface FastEthernet0/1 description Uplink To Access Point switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
[Code].....
The switch shows the AP under sho cdp niegh but when I go to the controller and look at AP neigh nothing shows up. I am currently running a WLC 4404 with 4.2.209 ( yes the upgrade happens tomorrow ).
why the switch shows the neigh. but not the AP when looking from the controller?
