I noticed a TON of random devices showing up in my Network within Windows 7. When I say a ton, I mean 739! I am not computer illiterate, but definitely not a pro. View 6 RepliesNetwork running about 60 computers, most of which are running windows 7 professional. Some are on a domain, some are not.At (seemingly) random times, some computer on the network will lose the ability to browse websites (including the web interfaces of networked devices). I can't identify what circumstances cause this to occur. I only find out about it when someone calls me.From the affected computer:I can ping sites I can ping our Cyberoam UTM (which acts as our DNS, DHCP, and firewall)disabling/enabling connection doesn't fix the problem releasing/renewing ip doesn't fix the problem flushing dns doesnt fix the problem uninstalled antivirus on two test machines, problem still randomly manifests.replaced the Cyberoam with newer model users have claimed that if they wait a long period of time (40+ minutes) the problem sometimes resolves.rebooting the computer resolves the issue until it randomly occurs again changing the computer's mac address also resolves the issue until it randomly occurs again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a mix of devices that all access the internet via a Deutches Telkom Speedport W 723v my windows devices, HTC phone and even the iPad 2 never have a problem, but my Macbook Pro (Unibody Late 2008 model) and my iMac (Probably 2007 / 2008) keep having a problem with the network dropping out. To fix it I have to switch off Airport and switch it back on again and it re-connects straight away.The Mac OSX software albeit now rather dated on both devices (The Macbook is 10.5.8) is kept up to date using Software Update.The problem amy also now be affecting my APPLE TV2 it never had a problem before but now I cannot connect to iTunes on my Macbook using Home Sharing it just does not want to connect!!!I did try before going into the Speedport and changing channels from AUTO to channel 1 but that did not resolve it. I am going to do it again and try a different channel but logging onto the Speedport is an absolute pain, I can only login using my Macbook Pro when it is booted into Windows XP and on Ethernet as we had all sorts of problems setting it up and could only do it using IE not SAFARI and now the Speedport login only recognises 1 x PC for logging in, if you try a different device it throws a wobbly and locks up!

When I click on Network, the only computer that shows up is mine. If I am hardwired then everything shows up (Servers, other workstations). Is this a problem with the radius server or something on the controller?
A particular & ungreatful person abused my laptop to the point where I had to install a password. I had to perform all kinda of removal actions but I just noticed in my network domain that his name followed by "PC" & under "media devices" & "network infrastructure" contains his name again w/ PC & devices called [TV]UNE40ES6100.I am using the program's wireless service which I am allowed-to. I just want to remove this person from my laptop. It won't delete when r. clicking. I have win 7 and use this laptop mainly for my online school & email.

I have resolved an issue where someone was testing a device on our network and assigned a static IP that was already in use by one of our printers. Specifically, I am curious if the IP conflict could have caused issues with mapped network drives for other computers. I just seemed to have network gremlins for the 2 days of the IP conflict.

We bought Roku not long ago, which connects your tv to the internet so you can use netflix, hulu, etc., and it had no problem connecting. Now, it just stopped connecting. It detects the network but just wont connect to it. The password is right and everything. We also have this problem with an iPod touch, tablet, smartphone, and wii.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed 4 of these units in a commercial premises offering free wifi. Since the day they were installed (5Months ago) we had connectivity issues with mobile devices. This was somewhat resolved in the latest FW 1.0.04 but we are still having random disconnections on the units every 2 - 4 days and have to reboot the units. Lately the units have become unresponsive and reset themselves back to factory settings.
What we have done so far:
Changed router models - No change
Changed from Static IPs & DHCP - No change
Turned on isolation - No change
Performed a wifi analysis to pick the best channel for each unit - Slight signal gain but still disconnects
Changed to 20Mhz only (And all other variations) - No change
I think I am left with no option but to return these for some other brand. I'm really regretting buying these units at the minute...
Have another problem with my new rev B router.
I am trying to configure access control rules, but the list of computers (ip addresses and mac addresses) are empty, I have setup all of my devices with static ip's, they are all turned on and all have internet access. None of the systems including the one I am trying to configure the rules with are there, They don't show up in port forwarding either. Any one ever have this problem? I returned and DIR-825 Rev.b for this same problem because i thought it was defective.
I have tried rebooting the router, rebooting each pc and trying different ports on the router itself. There are wireless and wired computers that I am trying to setup but none of them show up. When I try to manually enter them into access control ie. 192.168.0.103 it will only allow me to put one computer in for each rule.
The old rev.A router this one replaced work perfectly fine with the same cables and computers setup the same way.
I just recently (4 days ago) purchased an E3200 router. I noticed some random disconnects on my devices using the 2.4GHz frequency.I installed inSSIDer from MetaGeek to see what was going on and noticed some strange behavior where the Amplitude on the 2.4GHz randomly drops dramatically. Sometimes its once every 10 minutes, other times it happens 5 times in one minute. I can't figure out what is the cause. The 5GHz signal is steady as a rock.
What I tried so far: Set the Channel to the least crowded channel instead of auto, upgraded the firmware, restarted the router all to no avail. This is annoying to say the least. It doesn't affect anything unless you are playing video games or running a remote desktop session, where a single disconnect is disastrous. I just upgraded from an old linksys wrt54g, tried a netgear n600 which was terrible, then swapped it out for the Cisco E3200..
I any running Cisco Works LMS 4.0 on Windows 2008 Enterperise Edition with SP2.I am facing 2 issue which are below:
1. Get message "You are using unsupported Version". As per Cisco document Windows 2008 Ent edition is support by LMS 4.0
2. All of my devices are showing unreachable. I already double check the Devices Credential include SNMP (Read and Write community) and Username and passwords.I can accessble all devices via telnet from the same Cisco Works Machine.
I have discovered my switches in LMS but it is showing unreachable what can be the reason ?

I tried to reinitalize the DFM database, but that caused all sorts of other issues like my ANIServer not running anymore etc. I have a ticket open with TAC for that issue though.
my computer is a dell dimension 1100, with a Linksys WMP54G wifi card, running vista home basic.In the wifi thing in the notification area, it shows two wireless networks, One is my normal SSID (Lower Net), and one is "Unidentified network". They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.
View 13 Replies View RelatedWe had an existing installation of LMS 4.1 which seemed to have worked fine with the exception that it was giving problems with logging Syslog events. We tried everything to resolve it and then we found a link on this very site that explained that there was a bug in displaying Syslog events on LMS 4.1. It is important to state that we would get a few Syslog events but the rest were either filtered or discarded.As per the bug toolkit, we realized that we had to upgrade to LMS 4.2 to have the bug resolved. This was not a problem and we installed LMS 4.2 as a direct upgrade to LMS 4.1. We backed up our existing data and the installation process migrated everythin automatically.Now, LMS 4.2 is installed and our objective of having Syslog messages are being received regularly as we wanted.unfortunately, when we try to generate a report such as "Detailed Device" report and try to select All Devices from the Device Selector menu, we do not see any of our devices. However, we do find our devices listed under User-Defined Groups -> (Our DCR). Based on this, we can generate reports and everything is fine.Yet, we are doing this for a client of ours and they expect to see these devices listed in the "All Devices" section of the device selector. Apart from that, everything seems to be working fine.

I have added all of the devices to DCR and they show up with their hostname value in all of the device trees except for the fault manager views. In all of the fault manager views the hostname is not being used for the Devie Name field, rather the IP address is being used.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got a DIR-655 and set it all up pretty easily. I have 6 wired and 3 wireless. All work fine and all are set to use DHCP. But if I go (in the router) to the Lan Computers list under Device Info, three devices (2 wired, 1 wireless) do not appear. I do have a switch added to the system, but of the three devices connected to it, 1 shows in th Lan Computers list and the other 2 do not.Since everything works, I'm mostly just curious why this is. Every previous router I've had showed everything correctly.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are using Campus Manager 5.2 with LMS 3.2. We have 100 devices and all 100 devices has been successfully discovered in Common services in all 100 devices are showing in DCR.When we check in RME we have found all 100 devices over there.
But, in Campus Manager we got only 95 devices. out of 88 WS-C2960G-24TC-L 5 switches are not showing in Campus manager. we have added the same manully ( manually included & Ecluded all 5 devices in Campus manager) and start the data collection, but no result.
After data collection it is showing not managed by Campus Manager when we check ( Show all Included devices option).
DIR-615 REv E, Originally had a Windows vista, windows 7, sony bravia tv (hardwired), sony blue ray player, 2 blackberry torch, an ipod, and whoever else happened to be there connected. After a router push button reset 7 reconfigure, only the windows vista and a samsung tablet will connect. The windows 7 computer sees the router but cannot see the internet. It does connect if hardwired thru the router.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIn troubleshooting another issue I set up another SG300 on the same VLAN as my SG300-28P and then setup a Monitor Port on it to see what Broadcasts I was getting.
Low and behold the SG300-28P is sending out quite a few Broadcast Packets. Most of them are the same, ARP Request for its Default Gateway Address. Others are for a few other AD Servers on our network.
Arp Entry Age Out is set to the default of 600000 with "Normal Age Out" selected. Though in a few minutes of logging Packets, there were almost 7,000 broadcasts from it for the its Gateway Address. The Gateway Address that it has is the IP of a Cisco ASA 5510. Is there some TTY on the ARP entry like DNS?

My camera uses Lots of data without anyone viewing the camera.I have it connected to a mobile data limited subscription with 2Gb of transfer each month. When traffic goes over it will limit bandwidth to 64 kbit/s.
After I connected the camera my data usage rise very high and just in a day or two the 2Gb limit was reached.The speed was then decreased to 64 kbit/s. And the next 3 weeks until my limit was reset the total data usage was up to 4Gb.That means that in 3 weeks 2Gb data was sent from the camera in only 64 kbit/s.How could this be?I have motion detection on that will email me images, that gives me some false positives some days with sun and shadows. But that should add up to a few Mb as maximum for a month.
I also have remote power on/off on this specific camera. I have now turned it off and the sent data from my modem has stopped.WHERE does the D-link camera stream live to? It's password protected and no one except me has the password.I can't see open sessions in my router (Dovado 4GR) and my mobile broadband supplier (Telenor) can not see where the data is transferred.But the camera is sending data somewhere, WHY? and how can I turn that off?
I've been having some issues with my network connectivity for a while now, and I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is. I run a wired connection to an Ethernet port in the wall of my university dorm. I have verified that it is not a global network issue or an ISP issue; this problem only happens on my PC.My network connection drops/disconnects randomly throughout the day. When I say disconnect/drop, I mean that all attempts to ping or access the internet fail. A few minutes pass before the Network and Sharing center task tray icon shows a warning sign saying that my computer could not connect to the internet.This is temporarily fixed by doing an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew, but I have to execute these two commands about 2-3 times a day on average.
There is no exact interval between the disconnects, nor does it happen when I am running particular programs. The disconnect happens regardless of what I am doing at the moment (gaming, browsing the internet, leaving the computer idle).A month back, I installed some Windows Updates and suddenly my internet connection was almost completely broken. I was experiencing the same issue, but much more frequently. My internet would die within 10 seconds of executing any download, but Windows wouldn't recognize that something was wrong. At first I thought the ZoneAlarm, Avast!, or the SafeConnect (as required by my university) services were causing trouble but uninstalling/disabling these services did not fix the problem.I also tried reverting to my default ethernet drivers, which did nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of my drivers to no avail.However, the internet worked just fine in Safe Mode with Networking, so I cross-referenced the processes/services running in Safe Mode w/ Networking against my normal startup, guessing something else was at play.After some poking around, I discovered that disabling the Server and Browser services permanently fixed the issue of instant connection death. But the initial problem I described still remains;random, less frequent internet connection drops.

In general I have no problems with my WIFI with simple browsing and most of my routine activities online. But any time I stream video (like youtube), music or download a large file, my WIFI spontaneously turns off. I need to either restart the computer or put the computer to sleep/wake it up for the WIFI to work again.
I have the latest drivers for the Wireless card. I scanned the forums and didn't see this problem reported elsewhere. I realize this is an old computer so I may have to install an external wireless adaptor, but I wanted to ask around before doing so.
At first it seemed to happen everyday at the same time, but now seems completely random (happening twice a day somedays). At some part during the day while the user is busy with this system it drops the network connection. The ONLY way to get it back is by restarting via the reset button. Shutdown or even logoff just hangs. Nothing regarding that card will work or respond, you can not even disable and re-enable. I can however get the wireless to work without restarting. I've done everything I could possible think of including format and re-installing Windows. Something new I've noticed is that the user always has MS Access (in runtime mode) running while network goes down and then you can not end that process.

This includes Ping spiking, Wireless network drop-outs (The network stop appearing on available network list) and packet loss. This is all completely random (though very common) and is frustrating to say the least. As far as I know, the problem is not nearly as bad on other devices in the house , so I suspect that my network card has become shoddy. I have tried updating,removing,and re-installing network drivers to no avail. I have also used cmd and I have pinged 192.168.1.254, which shows random ping spikes, and some packet loss as well.
