View 2 RepliesI just bought the E3200 and have it all set up and have been able to successfully print from the USB port. I want to know if you can use a USB hub to connect multiple devices to the router. I found a couple of similar questions on the forum, but they're all back in 2011 before the 1.4 update to Cisco Connect.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought the E3200 to replace an older Linksys model. The older model worked but the signal was weak throughout the house. I installed the e3200 using the Cisco connect software but it told me that it wasn't sure I was connected to the internet. I wasn't. Showed a strong signal but could not connect via wireless devices or from the cable from the router to the desktop.
I have LUS Fiber service which does not use a modem. I have had them recycle the signal several times and have done tried many different variations of the MAC numbers from ipconfig or from cloning. Have also tried it with the MAC cloning disabled so the router's MAC number is used. I have reset, rebooted and done just about every possible option.
Spoke with my provider many times and they insist they are sending me a signal. They also recognized the router's MAC number on their end.I purchased one router and it wouldn't connect, so I exchanged it. All these shenanigans I have gone through are with the second router because I figured the hardware isn't the problem.
I would like to see the full range of 24 hours for setting parental controls on devices. As it stands now, I can only select a block of time that starts in the PM and ends in the AM. This isn't very useful if for instance I want to limit internet while my kids are home alone after school, from 3 PM to 5 PM, or say on the weekends to limit it from 7 AM to 5 PM. Just a suggestion that would make life a bit easier!
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave set up parental controls for other devices via web interface. It does not take for one laptop. I see the device can add it to list but all settings dont work? Have reset router, removed and re-added device called support but found no solutions.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently (4 days ago) purchased an E3200 router. I noticed some random disconnects on my devices using the 2.4GHz frequency.I installed inSSIDer from MetaGeek to see what was going on and noticed some strange behavior where the Amplitude on the 2.4GHz randomly drops dramatically. Sometimes its once every 10 minutes, other times it happens 5 times in one minute. I can't figure out what is the cause. The 5GHz signal is steady as a rock.
What I tried so far: Set the Channel to the least crowded channel instead of auto, upgraded the firmware, restarted the router all to no avail. This is annoying to say the least. It doesn't affect anything unless you are playing video games or running a remote desktop session, where a single disconnect is disastrous. I just upgraded from an old linksys wrt54g, tried a netgear n600 which was terrible, then swapped it out for the Cisco E3200..
I just ordered the E3200. It's suppose to ship today. I know it comes with 1 USB port for hard drives. Is it possible to connect a USB hub to the router so that I can connect more than 1 hard drive?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe problem I have was that last night I unplugged my router and replugged it back in. As soon as that happened, there was no connection between my router and the modem. This morning, I tested to see if it was the modem by connecting an ethernet cable from my desktop to it, and was able to get online. Then, II reset the router and a sucessful connection was made between the two. On my desktop my old network was gone, but the Cisco network was there, leading me to create a new network as if it was a new router. After setting up a new network, I am not able to connect to the internet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an E3200 router. I had been experiencing connection problems with my desktop that was wired to the router, and in an attempt to resolve the issue reset the router to its factory defaults. Now, as before the reset, I can connect to my router just fine via Wi-Fi (I have several devices connected this way) but none of the computers that I attempt to connect via ethernet are able to establish a connection. I have tested multiple cables with multiple computers using multiple ports on the router, to no avail. When I view the Status --> Ports page on the router, I can see the ports in use that I am connected to, but that is the only sign of connection that I get.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a new E3200 to replace my old Linksys router. It locates my computers and sets up a network, but cannot connect to the internet via my Comcast cable modem. I have read on this forum about Mac address issues, but it has located the Mac address. The internet IP address is all zeros, and releasing and renewing the IP does nothing
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Telus Wireless modem and got a linksys router to try and expand the range & strength of the wifi. However, whenever I plug in the router and try to set it up, I can get connected to the router but no internet connection.I have tried everything I can - restarted the modem and the router several times, connected and reconnected, rebooted the whole of the router system, connected with an ethernet cable straight to the router from my laptop. In the settings, I have tried to mess around with the settings and more, and whenever I screw up I reset the router to defaults again.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI don't have to completely reset my router as I have a ton of configs on it. Anyway, recently for some reason, I lost all access to my admin page. Cisco Connect also cannot find the router. Funny thing is that all of my wireless profiles work just fine. Meaning all of the computers in my home connect to the internet just fine using the router. Both the guest access and WPA connected machines.[url]...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Linksys E3200 router with a Motorola modem and an elite xbox 360 with a wireless N networking adapter. (Black with two antennas.) I just recently bought this router because I wanted some faster gaming. I wanted to put my xbox on the 5ghz so it would have it all to itself, and have the two laptops share the 2.4ghz. But it won't let me onto the 5ghz band... I can see it on my xbox but it won't connect to it at all. I can get onto the 2.4 band but its at 802.11G, so its not even giving me N there, when it should be. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my adapter or router...I tried finding stuff about it, and it looked like people were blaming it on linksys, but that was almost a year ago. And there was never an update on what happened.I can see the 5Ghz band on my xbox (but only if the channel width is on 20Mhz only), but I can't find it on my computer. Which I find weird. I've been trying a lot of things and I just can't get my laptop to find it. So nothing is using the 5 band, and all my devices are crowded onto the 2.4...Is there some step in setting up the 5Ghz band that I'm missing maybe?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just installed an E3200 to replace my old Linksys. All my Nooks, IPADs, laptops and desktops are connecting wirelessly fine. However, I have 2 Wi Fi Radios that will pick up the network but will not connect and go into a network connect time out. One of the radios also has a hardwired connection and that is working fine. I have checked and double checked the network name, WPA key, etc. Of course I have reset all the radios and reenter new data many times, both manually and auto.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded 3 days ago from a (WRT160N ver. 1) to a (E3200) After setting it up and syncing all the devices including the XBOX 360. After signing into Live I noticed that every time I power off and power on the console it's IP address would change causing the NAT to become moderate so I went over to the Xbox360 open the Network settings and Manually set the IP address Mac address, Gateway address. Then I opened the routers settings page and Port Forwarded the correct ranges also copied the IP address I manually entered earlier on the Xbox 360. On the router side I saved the changes restarted the console and my NAT was open, but here's the Issue now when I go to sign into Live I get a pop up saying I can't connect to Live to "Test the Connection". After I "Test the Connection" then and only then I can sign into Live.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI justed purchased a Linksys E3200 router to replace my old router that gave up the ghost. I have it paired with a Motorola 2210-02 DSL modem. The software that came with the router has created two networks but is unable to connect to the internet. I have tried on both my PC and MacBook Pro and niether work. I have the modem connected directly to my Mac and can get to the internet, so I know the modem is working correctly.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Linsys E3200 router for almost a year. It's been working fine until recently. It kept losing internet connection every a couple hours or even shorter. I have to power cycle the router in order to make it to work. However, sometimes that won't work either. I also tried to restore the router to the factory default but that doesn't seem to work.
I have updated the router with the latest firmware (1.04). I am using a cable connection and it never gives me any problem if I just connect my computer to it. I also test my network with another old netgear router that works just fine.
I bought a Cisco-Linksys E3200 8 months ago and it worked well until last month. I usually power down the router after midnight & power up in the morning and evevry time it can connect to internet through DSL modem without problem until this Feb. Most of the time after powering up the router it just can't connect to internet anymore. I am sure the AT&T DSL modem is working. I have to reboot/reset the router & DSL modem several time to get router to connect to internet again. The order of resetting/rebooting DSL modem & E3200 router seems to make no difference. It just appears suddenly the router can connect to internet by chance. I changed router IP and it didn't work either. It's really annoying becuase I have to spend 10~40 minutes to resetting/rebooting DSL modem & router to get internet connection every day.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed a Linksys N750 (EA3500) router (WAN - LAN setup). I settled both band networks : 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz with different SSID and different WAP2/WAP personal mixt. WHile some devices will show both networks correctly, I'm facing issues with the 5Ghz band and wonder if this is sigh of some kind of failure:
- while my iPad offered both signals and let me set the 5 Ghz band, it is showing weak signal and stall on loading webpages; as soon as I instead put it on the 2.4Ghz band, (standing at same location of course), everything runs smoothly, excellent signal.
- I have a Mac Mini and PS3 side by side same location. The Mac Mini seems to works flawlessly under both bands, 2.4 or 5 - excellent signal. However, the PS3 fails its connexion test and states that signal is not perceptible on the 5Ghz. But connect as a snap on the 2.4 Ghz band.
- Got on and off 5Ghz signal on a laptop; connected to 2.4Ghz, everything runs perfect.
- iPhones 4S : I don't even see the 5Ghz SSID, but I get both the 2.4 and Guess account..So I'm tempted to conclude that some devices just can't follow the pace (??) to connect on 5Ghz..
I've been using a WRT160N for a couple of years now with no problems with any of my devices. I have a couple of certain devices (a DS and a PSP mainly) that utilize 802.11b and have been working perfectly up until now.
All of a sudden it seems like the router has decided all by itself to no longer allow 802.11b devices to connect to it, despite it being configured in mixed mode. (b/g/N) I've tried tinkering around with it, switching between Mixed and BG-Mixed, changing the channel to something more common and restarting the router, but I can't connect at all on these devices.Model: Cisco Linksys WRT160N v3.Firmware version: 3.0.03.
I just installed a WRT320N for someone's home network, with the intent of providing better speed for network printing.
Unfortunately, all four of his n-capable Windows computers will only connect at 54mbps. Four different computers (Win7, Vista, XP), each with a different brand/model of n-capable network adapter.
I suppose I could try setting the wireless to n-only instead of "mixed". However, he's got a couple g-only devices as well, so that wouldn't work.
I tried updating the firmware to latest/greatest - no effect.
I was requested to connect 2 WRT54G devices in our network with same ip range.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTo preface this message I need to state that I am functionally illiterate when it comes to any kind of networking. I just replaced an old Linksys wireless-G router with a new Linksys EA6500 router. My needs are as follows: I am connecting 4 desktop computers (two personal and two business) via Ethernet cables. In addition there will be three smart phones, two DVD players and one game console connected wirelessly. In the future I will add a printer, hard drive and more wireless devices. After installing the hardware and running the setup disk all four computers wired with Ethernet cables worked fine (although they are not set up to communicate or share files with one another - they only need to access the internet. My problem is with the wireless connectivity. I cannot get any one of the wireless devices to work.
