Cisco :: Aironet 600 Use One Port As Corporate Remote LAN

Aug 17, 2011

I need information about the Aironet 600 access point.I got a customer who want to deploy a guest WLAN on branch office with an authentication with a  captive portal that is centralized. I would like to use the OfficeExtend functionnality with Aironet 600 Acces point & WLC 5508 or 2504 to centralize the traffic from all access points on the controller.

On those branch offices, there were a few "free access desktops" that need a copper link. I want those devices to be also authenticated by captive portal, so I want to connect them on the four 10/100 port of the access point. But it seems that we can only use one port as "corporate remote LAN", the threee others are just for "home LAN". Is it correct ? Is there any solution to configure the four ports as remote LAN interface ?

Remote Corporate Networking Via Vpn

Nov 22, 2012

I am the CEO of a small company with 5 divisions, 2 of which are remote. There is also my home office that I wish to be on the company VPN.We can't afford an IT department, so it is up to me to ask for a network diagram (as specific as possible) that lays out all the hardware required. My plan is to eventually have an intranet web server, file server, and database server all for internal use. Our external webserver is hosted by a well-known company. Growth must be considered both in hardware and network.

Cisco :: Aironet 600 Can Remote LAN Interface Be Configured To Skip Authentication For IP

On an AIRONET 600 AP (officeExtend) with the remote LAN interface is configured to use 802.1x authentication:If a Cisco IP Phone is connected, 801.x authentication challenges for credentials. The AP does not seem to have a way to detect that this is an IP Phone and to skip the challenge (as Cisco switches/routers would do) Is there any way around this? Can the remote LAN interface be configured to skip authentication for IP Phone and only authenticate PCs etc..?

Cisco :: Aironet 1130 AG Remote Office Connected To Data Centre Over MPLS

Sep 27, 2011

We have an aironet 1130ag in a remote office connected to the data centre over MPLS. The Radius server is based on server 2003.We have hundreds of these points set up exactly the same but this is the only one giving me issues, I even stripped the config and rebuilt it and then swapped with a new access point

The issue is that clients can't authenticate when connecting to the access point but provides nothing in event viewer. Checking the RADIUs server provides nothing either. The access point error logs just state station: authentication failed

On looking deeper into the problem I enabled RADIUS debugging on the access point and got some interesting results, in particular is the line:
no sg in radius-timers: ctx 0x12EF0A4 sg 0x0000.I can't find out what no SG in Radius-timers actually means, but after that line appears I just see more retransmits and no sg fails.

I inspected the packets on the RADIUs server and found lots access requests coming from my access point and lots of access-challenges returning back from my RADIUS server - I'm not sure how often that's supposed to happen or if it's a one time occurance. I did however see directly after the first access-request that the RADIUS server returns with UDP and is fragmented, length is 1514...... could this be the problem? If so why cannot it hanlde fragmented packets?

My company uses an ASA 5520 to authenticate VPN using the Anyconnect client. We would like to deploy a second authentication method such as Host Scan (CSD.) Our ASA is currently running on a "Plus" license. As I understand CSD will only work with "Premium?" If this is correct are there other options for two part authentication? We're also considering using FOBs and have ruled out using the NAC.

Cisco Routers :: Routing SA540 Connecting To Corporate VPN

May 21, 2012

Looking for routing with an SA540 router connecting to corporate VPN.We have an odd configuration that is beyond the scope of what I have configured previously with these devices..I am trying to configure the routing to the additional IP addresses listed for the HQ.  The VPN tunnel between the .26.120.x and the .17.0.0 networks is built however it does not appear to be routing.  The Cisco administrator at the HQ site says that they have "fully configured the routing" from all the listed IP addresses back through the VPN tunnel. The options I am unsure of for configuration of the SA540 router are: GW - I believe that I use the internal IP address of the 17.26.120.x router. Is this logical since the VPN tunnel. We are using NAT for the firewall internally. The existing 3 172.26.x.x VPN tunnels are live and working and fully routing between themselves.

Cisco Routers :: RV042 V3 Remote Management Port?

I have two other RV042 units running older firmware and they work as expected and follow the port that is filled in.  This one has me puzzled and wondering if this is a bug in the firmware.

Corporate Wifi Access From Android Phone

While, connecting via open networks like home wifi and other friends' wifi also worked without any issue. Scenario 2: Now I also have an android based Galaxy pocket: even after entering all the required proxy setting as mentioned above, I can access websites via browser but cannot access samsung's app store, google's play store, skype, sipdroid etc. I know it is nothing to do with the network administration as I am still accessing via my samsung wave but not via android. Is there anything like a network profile I need to assign for these applications?

Cisco Routers :: ASA5520 - Unable To Ping From Corporate Network

Sep 14, 2012

I have created an IPSEC VPN tunnel using a Cisco ASA5520 (corporate) to a Cisco SRP541W (remote). The corporate subnet is 10.1.0.0/16, and the remote subnet is 192.168.1.0/24.  From the remote subnet, I can ping anything on the 10.1.0.0 corporate network, but I cannot ping from the corporate network to the remote subnet. At first I thought this was something obvious, perhaps an incorrect acl or something easy on the corporate firewall. However, we have several other vpn tunnels established, all set up the same, and they work just fine. After looking at it a bit more closely, if I ping the remote subnet I see the hit counter increment by one each time, which leads me to believe that traffic is in fact being routed properly. Now I'm thinking that something in the remote SRP541W that is not allowing icmp traffic, but I can't find it anywhere. To be honest I have never used this type of firewall before, they have all been Cisco PIX501/506e and ASA5500 models.

Cisco Routers :: SA520W - Can't Access SSLVPN Corporate Connection

Feb 27, 2013

A new Windows 8 computer can't access the SSLVPN corporate connection.

When we try to access the SSLVPN website to download the launcher (you have to download the VPN launcher everytime for our configuration), you can log in and that's fine, and then you can click on the VPN Tunnel link, a popup shows up but it doesn't actually download the launcher. Solutions we've tried so far:

1)     Reinstalling C++ Redistirbutable
2)     Adding the site to trusted sites and allowing unsigned ActiveX controls
3)     Removing all internet objects through internet options.

Is there anything else we can try?

Port Forwarding Setup - Remote Directly Into One Of Servers?

Jan 19, 2012

I have a small network in my garage, it's basically made up of a bunch of test servers. Those and a win xp machine are all hooked up to a switch, and the win xp machine also has a wireless usb stick that is connected to my wireless router, and is being used to share internet to the rest of the machines. The test servers along with the NIC card on my win xp machine sit on a different subnet, however. When I remote into the win xp machine from my house, i can run a second remote desktop in the first session, into any of my servers. I want to do work on them, but its very laggy.

Is there a way I can setup a port either on the win xp machine or my wireless router so that i can remote directly into one of the servers? so if the win xp machine has a wireless ip address of 192.16.13.102, and one of the servers on the 2nd subnet has an internal ip of 192.2.2.4, can i have it so i can make, for instance, 192.16.13.102:6333 forward to 192.2.2.4? If not, is there any other way i can directly remote into one of the servers, by passing the first remote desktop into win xp? What settings would have to be the same across the line?

Public / Private IP And Port Number For Remote Access?

Dec 23, 2012

I would like to understand how public IP works in remote access. I do have belkin router and when I access it remote I type my public IP and after it the port number for example xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80 and if I would like to access an IP cam remotely in the same network i would do the same thing xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5656 (public IP). I do know my Public IP is unique. Thus, its quite logical I can access my devices remotely. my understanding of the port number is application specific that addresses packets in different applications in the same computer. For example port 80 is for HTTP connection used browsing the web, for chatting in MSN i will use different port number specifically for MSN...etc. my question is how I can access my belkin router remotely by typing the public IP and the port number knowing that the port number is application specific not device specific? My second question is, is it possible to access two routers in the same network remotely?
