I'm on my 3rd Virgin media 615 today, the last one arrived yesterday and I opened the box to fine a rev d with old bios installed, throw hands in air and all that and then proceeded to upgrade to 4.13 which I have found to be stable and work ok, the other two grow to have the wireless failure issue, I could moan here about VM but hey there's no point so I have come here for adviseafter I found the last one wireless going down, daily trips from the kids down to me to ask why the internet isn't working etc etc I started to investigate, I found the 4.13 and gened up a bit, looked at the 3rd party code and came back to Dlinks own code, anyway I have seen in the last few days hundreds of similar port scans. Now is the the router being a little sensitive to harmless software companys scans to see if products installed etc or are they something to worry about now I know whats going on if its the latter, and I don't think anyones got in yet but I would like to ban these ip's and to be honest I'm not sure of the best way also I noted a UDP active session that not a part of my subnet too mine being a standard 192.168.0.*and the other being 192.168.4.*.
I want to use Qos in EA2700. I want to know whether the port in the Qos means the port of local computer or the port of server. Or is it a source port or a destination port?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a 5508 controller in main site.Which has two ports connected to local network.Management VLAN 500 is untagged and mapped to Port 1.All other interfaces are including 501 to 507 are mapped to Port 2.We have a SSID that is mapped to VLAN 501 interface , which successfully can be joined in main site.We connect an AP to remote site ;We have a remote site VLAN 115 which can be reached from main site.We connect an AP to access vlan 115 port on the remote site , we had described option 43 , so AP can successfully finds controller in local mode.
AP gets ip from VLAN 115 , can setup connection / ping controller successfully.There is a wide area connection between remote and main site.No trunk setup , the whole remote site is vlan 115.However when the client is trying to connect the test SSID , client cant get connected nor get ip address.Local switching is disabled.For this setup , client comes to AP as a requested , AP tunnels traffic to controller from vlan 500 , controller lets the client get into wired platform from VLAN 501.

Currently, my work computer has (obviously) a local desktop. Also, we use a Remote Desktop for our shared network drive (our head office is on the other side of the country). The annoying thing is that if I am looking up a document on the share drive (Remote Desktop) and I want to work on it, the Remote Desktop applications are slow. All of them have Remote Desktop enabled (via System settings) and have Windows Firewall exceptions setup. They all have AVG Anti Virus and no other firewalls installed. They all also have static ips assigned.Windows file sharing is working fine between all of them. VNC also works with no problems.But for some reason, I could not get Windows Remote Desktop to work between any of themAnother weird thing that may or may not be related is that they can't ping other computers on the same network.This leads me to believe that this might be a networking issue.I have a DLink router (can't remember model) with a Tomato Firmware.I do not have port forwarding setup for Remote Desktop because I think (although I may be wrong) that they are only used for connecting from the internet, which I don't need. I recently replaced a Netgear router with a RV042 because I figured out my Netgear was choking my 24MB Uverse connection down to about 6MB. I had VPN setup with my business partner who was already using an RV042 and everyting works fine. However after I setup the RV042 on my side we have not been able to get the VPN up. The settings are as follows

I have a 3845 router (12.4(13r)T10) with ZBF. On my LAN there is a user who need to access a remote IPSEC VPN server. He is able to get the tunnel but afterwards he cannot connect to any service in the remote LAN. As I'm using zbf I think that I should inspect traffic from my LAN zone to EXT zone, There is a document that describe a solution to this? What IP adressess should I use?

It works perfectly.But I want to have also full access from local to remote networks (but still preserve restricted access from remote to local). As I now VPN Filter works bi-directional with a single ACL. So is there some way to open all traffic from local to remote and still restrict remote to local traffic? ASA 5520 8.4(3)

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got a machine on my home network running Windows Server 2012 (Based on Win8).The problem is, my taskbar disappears completely.When I minimize an application rather than minimize to the taskbar it simply closes the window as small as it can as if the taskbar never existed (see photos at bottom).
The problem first presented itself after I accessed the computer from outside my local network I'm using a Linksys router and mapping to the server IP, port 3389.After a restart the problem goes away, I will update when I have more information on how frequently or what may trigger.

When using the USB printer port share function, I found that some PCs, which had never physically connect to a USB printer before, will not have the virtual USB printer port in the port selection. In this way, TP-Link's USB printer controller will not be able to setup the connection. The PC will not be able to use the shared printer from my WDR3600.how can I create a virtual USB printer port in the remote PCs (without need to physically connect a printer to them) or other method to use the shared printer?
I'm trying to develop and test a website from my iPad. I have my laptop and iPad on same local network, 192.168.1.xThey can see each other over network and I can access the page:192.168.1.105:80 (my laptops local web server) from both iPad and laptop. However the application server runs on port 8080 and I cannot access this from either device/machine. the router's firewall is playing a role, and I have no software firewall running on laptop that I'm aware of (turned off windows 7 firewall).localhost:8080/myWebSite or 127.0.0.1 also works on port 8080.The only combo that does not work is 192.168.1.105 with port 8080. I need this so the iPad can hit the site so I can test locally while developing.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to setup a local DNS server to manage small office local-only domain names for our servers. i have the DNS working properly (resolving local machines and using the ISP dns if it can't). so i put the DNS server ip into the "Static DNS 1" field of the router settings. the other 2 static dns fields are empty.the problem is that the router is still using the ISP dns server as the primary and my local dns server as the secondary. i verify this in two places. first, if i go to the "status" tab, DNS 1 shows the ISP server while DNS 2 shows my local DNS server. secondly, if i connect to the wireless device with a linux-based machine, the /etc/resolv.conf file shows the nameserver ips in the same incorrect order.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI added some files to the hard drive which is connected to EA4500 by USB. I went to the Storage--Media Server Tab and clicked Scan All. I turned on the TV and pointed the DLNA Media Server at the hard drive.
The new files did not show up. They did show up a few hours later. Does the Scan button do anything?
I setup RA-VPN under local asa 5510 IP pool (192.168.127.0/24) and all was working fine. I got internet and local network access.
Then i have 5 site to site VPN working fine but when im traying to access to those L2L VPNs from the remote acces client im not able to do that. So after that i decided to obtain IP addresses from my DHCP server so i can obtain IPs from my local network (172.17.16.0/16) and then access normally to the VPN site to site. But the surprise was that the VPN cisco client is getting local IP address (172.17.16.222) perfectly but im not able to access even to my local network.

My other devices on the same network see the higher channels.
