View 2 RepliesI'm on my 3rd Virgin media 615 today, the last one arrived yesterday and I opened the box to fine a rev d with old bios installed, throw hands in air and all that and then proceeded to upgrade to 4.13 which I have found to be stable and work ok, the other two grow to have the wireless failure issue, I could moan here about VM but hey there's no point so I have come here for adviseafter I found the last one wireless going down, daily trips from the kids down to me to ask why the internet isn't working etc etc I started to investigate, I found the 4.13 and gened up a bit, looked at the 3rd party code and came back to Dlinks own code, anyway I have seen in the last few days hundreds of similar port scans. [code]
Now is the the router being a little sensitive to harmless software companys scans to see if products installed etc or are they something to worry about now I know whats going on if its the latter, and I don't think anyones got in yet but I would like to ban these ip's and to be honest I'm not sure of the best way also I noted a UDP active session that not a part of my subnet too mine being a standard 192.168.0.*and the other being 192.168.4.*.
Currently in my office have a TPlink wireless router (WR1043N), and Dlink 615 router.Below is my office's network organization.Internet-->TPLinkRouter(192.168.2.0)-->DlinkRouter(192.168.0.0)We want to host a demo website but we are afraid our network being attacked. So we wish to implement a DMZ network to hide our internal network from outside. My question is can i setup a dmz network with the above capabilities by using home routers?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to block a DDOS attack? I dont know to much about DDOS attacks and how they work, but i think i understand a little bit of it. Is there no way to configure a firewall to detect rapid, spontaneous, continuous amounts of fragmented, random data coming from an IP address? Wouldn't the data coming in from a DDOS server be somewhat distinct from data that flows normally
View 19 Replies View Relatedi just bought a sony lcd tv and this model can be controlled by a smartphone via an app called mediaremote. The app should scan the local network and find the tv and than, after pairing, you can use the smartphone as remote controller over Wi-Fi.
My problem is that the router block the network scan and the app can't find the tv; is there somethig i can chack in the configuration or that else to permit the local network scan?
I tried to connect tv and smartphone to the neighbour wifi and the app woks perfect so i'm sure that is a my network problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs part of my business' PCI compliance regime, we are regularly scanned for vulnerabilities. Today we started getting notifications of failure on all of the QuickVPN ports (443, 60443) for the following:
Details: Multiple Vendor TLS Protocol Session Renegotiation Security Vulnerability
06/11/12 CVE 2009-3555 Multiple vendors TLS protocol implementations are prone to a security vulnerability related to the session-renegotiation process which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to insert data into HTTPS sessions, and possibly other types of sessions protected by TLS or SSL, by sending an unauthenticated request that is processed retroactively by a server in a post-renegotiation context.
Cisco, will you be issuing a firmware update to address this anytime in the near future? Presumably it effects all the other RV routers as well.
I have followed directions and forwarded the two ports to the local machine. I looked in the router setup to find my current public ip address from Comcast say its 98.221.99.99. If I am on the same network as the machine that is receiving the port forwards, and I type http:// 98.221.99.99 in a browser, the forwarding works fine.If I am external/not on the same network, typing http:// 98.221.99.99 in a browser times out. I have tried http:// 98.221.99.99:9000 too (9000 is the port I need forwarded) and that doesn work either. But, I do have remote management enabled for the router and if I am external/not on the same network and I enter http:// 98.221.99.99:8080 in a browser, I get the router login screen and can enter my user name and password and login to the router just fine.

It is still blocked. It simply doesn't work.. I checked my router for any firewall but couldnt see any.. So yeah I'm 100% I fixed it on the router, unless someone is gonna tell me that there is still an option in the router that might fix it.. but I think I did something wrong in the firewall..Although I have been trying to get this to work all day.. I'd rather get some advice on the firewall or other options in my router. Btw, I am using AVG free edition, and I am pretty sure there is no firewall in that version, but there might be something I have to disable in order for this to work ?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe recently moved 8 pc's from a room where they each had port on the switch to a room where there is only one port for all of them. I setup a DLINK DIR632 Router in there and they connect thru the one port thru the switch to the gateway which gets them out to the internet. The problems is I need to be able to remote desktop into these 8 PC's and I need them to be able to print to the network printer. I am using a Linksys WRT54G Broadband router as the gateway connecting the switch to the internet. The DLINK's dhcp server is on for the 8 PC's. The Linksys' dhcp server shows the DLINK as IP 192.168.1.19 on the network.I know I have to use advanced routing settings but I'm not sure about how what to make the subnet mask and IP's on both routers. I believe I need to turn off the dhcp server on the DLINK and have the Linksys' dhcp server serve all of the PC's but I'm not sure if thats the best way or if its possible.. I don't want to hack out fix only to find it breaks 3 days later.I used to do this stuff all day long in the 90's but its been a while and to me its like calculus.

It just says service name, service type, starting port, ending port.
