I have set my Netgear WGR614 to a static IP, and I have tried port forwarding but I can't. I've tried disabling SPI Firewall and it still don't work. I have also tried enabling bridge settings on my connection in my modem settings, but that just wouldn't let me back on my internet. How I can port forward?I have a westell 610015.

I have at&t DSL with Westell Modem/Router in Bridge Mode and Linksys Router connected. The internet is working fine, but I'm unable to forward ports on the Linksys Router. The ports are 80 and 37777.

I have done this many times on other routers and it should have been simple but could not connect. Had him enable ping response so I could ping his router to verify the connection and ping was good. Tried my port scanner and only port 21 is open. Had client verify the port forwarding data and it is correct. Does he need to restart the router to enable port forwarding?

I have one wired computer on that network, my imac/game server, my main PC, my wii and an ipod touch connected connected to the linksys e-1000 wirelessly. I want to forward port 25565 through these routers to my imac. How can I do this? I have tried portforward.com, and a million other things.

I have to forward a port to 25565 adn I've followed all the instructions on how to do this on my netgear DGND3700v2. I've also turned off my Windows 7 firewall, but when I go to a test website, I still get a message saying the port is closed. I don't have a static IP address, is this absolutely critical or does it just mean that the boys will have to log on to a new IP address each time they want to play?

On my router, I like to port-forward SSH to my Linux computer server at home but since at work IT blocks out-bound SSH, I have to masquerade the SSH port-forward on my server to get past the corporate proxy. Normally, I've done this in the past by doing something like WAN:9090 (allowed by my IT) --> LAN:22 in my router's port forwards to get SSH routed to my Linux box from the web.
I recently purchased a Netgear FVG318 and it doesn't look like it supports this kind of configuration. In the Security->Firewall Rules->Inbound Rules section of the router configuration I see how to do a port-forward but they only have a drop-down selection of common protocols and will simply 1:1 forward the ports. It doesn't look like it allows to do mis-matched ports on the forward like I'd like to do.

When I use a port tester it still says "Port 5060 is closed"I have also turned off Windows Firewall. What else could be blocking these ports?

Forwarding network traffic from the Internet to a server and then have it properly re-routed. I have never done this sorta thing before, but I want to go into a career in I.T. when I'm older. However, I do not understand where to setup the static ips and where to drop DHCP to be able to port forward successfully. I have tried in Vuze to set up acceptable ports 51600 for TCP and UDP, but they continue to get this error: "NAT Error - Connect attempt to 67.60.124.173:51600 (your computer) timed out after 20 seconds. This means your port is probably closed." I do know that the Ip present is from my Vonage with my external IP address. I even tried to establish rules for TCP and UDP within AVG Firewall settings for the Vuze program.
I have a Cisco RVS4000 with Port 1 as a trunk connection to a Cisco SF300 switch. Port 1 on the router is configured 1untag,2tag,3tag,4ag. When connected directly to the router I can connect to the switches management IP. I would like to reach the switch remotely. I have set up DDNS and can access the router and I have have set a specific port to forward to port 80 on the switches management IP but this does not work. Should I not be able to Port Forward to the switch across VLAN 1?

I have followed the workaround instructions: so i have created a firewall access rule on incoming port 21 to an internal ip address on the same port. The router has created the forwarding port rule. But port forwarding does not work. I have tried to use a custom service but nothing!
The router is reachable from wan, I can access via DNS the configuration page and I can ping the router on wan port.
Currently I have the RV042 router working in a dual WAN set up, it is configured to accept connections on numbers of ports like 80,443, 25 and forward them to a local ip.
The problem is this only works with WAN1. Is it even possible to forward ports for connections coming in over WAN2?
