I am trying to set up a custom service on my netgear configuration page. I have a netgear router model# Wnr834m. every time i click the "add custom service" button the page redirects to "system authentication failed" and logs me out. What can i do to set up the new port?

View 1 Replies View RelatedTrying to connect to a computer on a client's network. He has a Netgear WGR614v9 router. I talked him through opening port 23 to 192.168.1.200. I have done this many times on other routers and it should have been simple but could not connect. Had him enable ping response so I could ping his router to verify the connection and ping was good. Tried my port scanner and only port 21 is open. Had client verify the port forwarding data and it is correct. Does he need to restart the router to enable port forwarding?

I have to forward a port to 25565 adn I've followed all the instructions on how to do this on my netgear DGND3700v2. I've also turned off my Windows 7 firewall, but when I go to a test website, I still get a message saying the port is closed. I don't have a static IP address, is this absolutely critical or does it just mean that the boys will have to log on to a new IP address each time they want to play?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAt work, our proxy blocks everything except for HTTP(S), FTP, and a small handful of other company-specific ports on the _outbound_ connection. On my router, I like to port-forward SSH to my Linux computer server at home but since at work IT blocks out-bound SSH, I have to masquerade the SSH port-forward on my server to get past the corporate proxy. Normally, I've done this in the past by doing something like WAN:9090 (allowed by my IT) --> LAN:22 in my router's port forwards to get SSH routed to my Linux box from the web.
I recently purchased a Netgear FVG318 and it doesn't look like it supports this kind of configuration. In the Security->Firewall Rules->Inbound Rules section of the router configuration I see how to do a port-forward but they only have a drop-down selection of common protocols and will simply 1:1 forward the ports. It doesn't look like it allows to do mis-matched ports on the forward like I'd like to do.
My ISP is centurylink and I have a 660 series modem that is both a modem and a router (no wireless). Also I have a Linksys WRT54G v3 wireless router with Tomato Firmware on it. For whatever reason I can't get the port forwarding to work. Yes, I know I have to forward the ports on both and I have tried using this guideurl...Fowarding.php on the modem, with Tomato Firmware it is super simple to forward.

I added the portforwarding as in this photo:
When I use a port tester it still says "Port 5060 is closed"I have also turned off Windows Firewall. What else could be blocking these ports?

However for some reason (even after port forwarding the right one) people still can't connect. I'm having this really weird issue with my DIR-655 revB. I have some port forwarding rules set up and externally they work fine. However, if I try connecting to my IP address using those same ports from a computer within my LAN, it won't connect.
Externally, I can ping my WAN address and connect through forwarded ports. No problems. Internally, pinging my WAN address apparently works (just now is the first time that's worked for me), however I can't access any of my computers using the WAN IP and port forwarded ports. I can access them by going directly to their hostnames or LAN IPs.
Things I've tried:
-Disabling/enabling firewalls on all computers involved
-Disabling/enabling QoS engine
-Disabling/enabling DNS relay
-Disabling/enabling Advanced DNS
-Adding custom nameservers from Google and Comodo
-Restarting computers
-Clearing DNS cache (I use a dynamic DNS name which works externally but not internally. This gets the correct IP internally and connecting directly to the IP doesn't work either.)
-Modifying the NAT Endpoint Filtering settings
I have an external DSL modem connected to the router using PPPoE if it matters.
The weird part is that it works externally but I've modified all of the values I can think of in the config with no luck. I upgraded to the DIR-655 from a DIR-615 which had all these settings in it and worked fine (until it started acting up which is why I replaced it).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems with my router. I have a Net gear N300 v2, but I am not asking for support with said router. Forwarding network traffic from the Internet to a server and then have it properly re-routed. I have never done this sorta thing before, but I want to go into a career in I.T. when I'm older. As a side note, I have already figured out that ditching the router requires to have a software DHCP server, which I am using Windows Server 2008 Data center and it's built in role as DHCP server.
DNS is also configured. The modem a Motorola Surf Board is connected directly to a Cisco Catalyst 2950, and that connects all of the rest of the network, also via a 3Com SUper Stack Hub, and a little 8-port HP Advance Stack J2610A, which connects to all of my wireless AP.
I have been trying so hard to get the following ports to work:
5120 - 5300
I have looked up countless guides, and have done everything in them, I have a static IP, I used the gateway to create the port forwarding rule, AND opened the ports on the windows firewall.
Nothing works. The port remains closed, and I can't host games. My modem is an Ambit U10C037

Today i installed an RV180 VPN router as replacement for a netscreen ns-5GT.Exactly the same configuration, everything works, except port forwarding from WAN to a host inside NAT.My ports are open (online port-scanner sees the ports as open), the hosts are accepting connections, but a connection can't be made.Probably a bug in the firmware.

Added note: The way I want to use it is by my IP (xxx.xxx.xxx.154:25565). I have the software installed to do so (I'm using a minecraft server, connecting through minecraft), but I can't enter my IP in the IP address field, it says that it's out of the range of the LAN.
I am trying add custom attributes for Juniper Netscreen TACACS+ authentication to a v5.2 ACS. The advice is to add it to the group as follows:

} I know how to add this to a version v4.x ACS
However, I do not know how to apply this to the custom attribiutes to a v5.x ACS?do I add the vsys and privilege attribute seperately or together? What should be the attribute name? netscreen? Should it be mandatory?
I set up my new E4200 to forward port 7300 to a computer on my LAN. I had this working on my Linksys WRT160N and copied all of the settings so they are identical to those on that router but forwarding does not work. A couple of weeks ago I have bought a TD-W8961ND in replacement of my old modem/router (of another brand, to upgrade from Wireless G to N). I tried to replicate in the new router something similar to my old setup, so I programmed Virtual Servers (under the NAT menu) with the following rules: NATRules.jpg in an attempt to:
- grant access from "outside" Internet to my web server
- have a Wakeup-On-LAN from "outside" Internet ..etc.. without success. Please note that:
- I have successfully setup a DDNS server to reach my modem router from outside
- as for WOL, I defined my subnet mask as 255.255.255.128
- I have not set any other rule, nor in NAT, nor in routing or other
- I tried also with firewall disabled
- I do my testing by means of a smartphone with wireless disabled and Internet connection via mobile service provider
- Both the above mentioned functions were working with my old modem/router (and still work on LAN), and I have not changed other things (PC setup etc)

I am using a MR3420 V2 together with a E398 modem. The connection works well, but I can't do any port forwarding (virtual server). Using another router (Tiny Dovado) with the same E398 modem works flawlessly to forward ports.

I have a problem configuring port forwarding to 443 and having client VPN to work.When 443 is NOT forwarded, VPN just runs fine (QuickVPN).As soon as I enable 443, the VPN stops working. This has lead me to a couple of questions.1) Is it even possible to have a single custom service with disjoint ports? Is it just going to be necessary to define multiple partial services for this?2) Is it possible to forward a range of ports? It's clear how to define a service with a port range, but the port forwarding table interface only allows me to select one LAN-side port for any service. Is there a secret notation that I need to do here that will just forward to the same LAN-side port as the WAN-side port---effectively one-to-one NAT forwarding, but just for the selected service?

(note, I'm using firmware version: 1.0.00) I am running a windows 7 computer wirelessly using this router.What I do for port forwarding is type in router IP (192.168.2.1) in internet explorer, type in "default" as username and "admin" as password. I click the "applications and gaming" link which brings me to port range forwarding.
I fill in my port info, in this case a mine craft server running on 25565. I set up two of the same ports, different names both at the same port, one running TCP and the other UDP, when it worked previously the "both" option did not work correctly. (I used to have a private network that a buddy of mine set up a while back, and I doubt he remembers what to do and I don't know where the manual is to make a new one, searching the internet sends me spam of people asking questions.)
I read somewhere it may have something to do with DHCP server settings conflicting with my IP. My IPv4 address reads 192.168.2.100, and the DHCP settings says the same.
Type: WRVS4400N Wireless-N Gigabit Security Router with VPN.I bought it last week. Its single port forwarding has an issue. I can only use that function for a couple or hours. Then the forwarding does not work. I have to reboot the router to make it available again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a NAT issue with my two xboxes. The router is an e1000 v2.1 firmware 2.1.02. One xbox is wired into the router and the other has a wireless adapter. The wireless xbox gets open nat automatically, while the wired one's nat is strict. If i mess with DMZ and turn UPnP off i can get the wired to be open but the wireless one to be strict. Also port forwarding does not seem to work because only one or the other xboxes will get an open NAT. I do have the the correct ports in the port triggering section set to on but that does not seem like it works.
