View 7 RepliesI am configuring a new ASA 5510 to replace a SonicWall and I have a problem with an HTTP Connection inside my LAN.PC from the LAN ( using ASA LAN interface as gateway) can't Connect to a Camera video Web Server (192.168.4.20) on Port 80 whereas I can Ping it.
ADSM logs show :
106015# Deny TCP (no connection) from ip1 to ip2 Flags RST on Interface LAN.The adaptive security appliance discarded a TCP Packet that has no Associated connection in the adaptive security appliance Connection table.
- I Enabled command "same-security-traffic permit intra-interface"
- HTTP inspection is disabled.
I used Capture feature on the Ingress Interface, I joined the Logs and a part of my ASA Running Config.
I am using ASA 5510 and I have a specific problem with Http Connection to receive a video Flow ( RSTP protocol ) in the LAN. Some Pc users (192.168.1.133,in the log) with ASA Lan Interface as gateway can ping the Camera but don't receveive the video flow.Some Pc users (192.168.1.116,in the log) using another gateway can ping and receive the video flow. I used Whireshark to capture traffic between camera and Pc using the 2 gateway. I joined Logs with this message.It seems to be a problem of TCP segments on the ASA, I try to changed some TCP options but it's still the same:- Disable Force Maximum Segment Size- Enable Force TCP Connection to Linger in TIME_WAIT State for at Least 15 Second.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem in my ASA 5510 firewall. I turned on HTTP inspect policy to block certain URLs, but that destroyed svn communication. Interestingly, if I use simple web-browser to access svn server - it works, but any svn-client requests fail with an error "Could not read status line: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host". I did some packet sniffing, and discovered that with HTTP inspect off the Webbed request is answered, but with HTTP inspect on it is rejected with an error unauthorized. Here are examples of success and failed conversation packets:

I am working on a task of redirecting any unmatched http traffic to Symantec public transparent proxy through Cisco ASA. For the definition of uncatched http traffic, we have inbound squid servers for deploying IE proxy pac and redirect the http traffic to Symantec public transpraent proxy, however we can't deploy IE proxy pac to mobile device and non-support web browers.Since we have some application using IE proxy setting for direct http communication with external domains, the current symantec policy addes those domains in the exception list so that they are not redirect to Symantec public transparent proxy server.

I currently have an ASA 5510 setup with Dual homed ISP's and a remote access IPsec VPN setup to terminate at either interface. The first interface is named Outside and the second is simply called Outside-2. When outside the company(such as at home), the VPN client will connect on the Outside-2 interface and work normally. The problem is while testing on our DMZ, the VPN Client will not connect on the Outside-2 interface. It will try that interface fail to connect and then connect to the backup Outside interface. This isn't a huge concern because it still connects, but if we were ever to get rid of one of those connections, it would be nice to reliably test from our DMZ.

I have a WAN interface and 2 LAN interface. I need both the LAN be able to access a server outside the network via the WAN (outside) interface. I am using a ASA 5510 firewall instead of a router, because I don't have a router. It looks simple enough but it does not work. I ping from the a PC (172.16.22.8) connected to LAN (inside) Network to 10.10.10.1 which is the WAN local interface also did not work. But from the ASA Firewall, I could ping my LAN (inside) PC. I'm not clear about the capabilities of the ASA 5510 GigE interfaces (eth0/0 and eth0/1) with an without IPSEC tunnels enabled.

On our ASA 5510 we already have one ISP link terminated on outside interface. There is correspoinding nat and global configured for outbound access to internet.
Now we need to terminate second ISP link on one of the DMZ interface to have redundancy for the primary ISP.
When primary ISP link or router is down we need to send all the traffic to secondary ISP router. How do we configure NAT and global for this condition that only when primary is down then only this NAT -Global should be used. Do we have anything like object tracking associated with the NAT-global.
So that as long as Primary RTR - object is up ASA will use the first NAT-Global pair. When primary ISP is down RTR-Object is not reachable then ASA will perform the second NAT-Global operation.
Also can we have default route pointing to Outside interface (primary ISP router) and in case of primary router failure it will point to secondary ISP. Do we have "track" in the static route commands on ASA.
May I know the reason why we cannot create interface vlan on Cisco ASA 5510?

It's in the works now. Anyways, my question/problem is: Today I've received reports of slow internet access/activity and have noticed myself that it seems a bit slow today. On the dashboard of our asa 5510 the "outside interface" traffic usage is running contstantly high. It's at the top of the graph. How can I tell what is causing the spike in utilization. It usually runs at about 1500-2000 Kbps, and now it's up over 10,000.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two ASA 5510 in an active-standby cluster, not that I think that the fact that they are clustered will be of any importance here so feel free to think of it as a single 5510. The internet connection is delivered in a single RJ45 connection. To be able to use it with the cluster there is a simple unmanaged switch connected between the ISP and the ASA's. I have two subnets with public addresses, for simplicity lets call them 1.1.1.0/24 and 2.2.2.0/24. Default routers are 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.1 respectively.
Can I somehow use both these subnets in the ASA's? Im currently using the first subnet and use PAT to direct traffic to internal servers. But if I want to use adresses from the second subnet wont that mess up the routing, since there is no way I can specify the default router for the second subnet? I have as of yet not tried anything, Im just trying to plan ahead and I cant seem to wrap my head around how this could possibly be done.
