We have an ASA 5520 and it's inside interface is currently plugged into a fast ethernet port on a 3750. I have just bought a 1gig SFP module and have copied the fast ethernet port config to the gigabit port, but the port seems to be flapping

1. Switch 3750-X
2. VLAN 100 - ( SVI IP address 192.168.100.1 /24)
3. VLAN 200 - ( SVI IP address 192.168.200.1 /24)
4. routed port gi1/0/48 (IP address 192.168.150.1 /24). Note: this port is directly connected to a firewall ASA 5520 port IP 192.168.150.100 /24
Ip routing is enabled on the switch and inter vlan traffic is flowing ok. I can ping the routed port gi1/0/48 from any computer connected in the VLAN 100 or 200. For example computer with IP 192.168.100.25 can ping the routed port 192.168.150.1. Switch can ping firewall port 192.168.150.100 and the 'sh ip route' command shows the network 192.168.150.0 /24 as directly connected network.
any computer in the two VLANs CANNOT ping firewall ASA port 192.168.150.100 Is it because inter VLAN routing does not work with a routed port on L3 switch? I looked up fallback bridging, but it is meant for non IP traffic.The goal is I am trying to set the ASA port as an internet gateway for VLANs.
My internet works. However port forwarding does not work. I want to port forward from the outside to inside obviously. I get an error in my log file which Ill show you and then I will share the running-config I have tried using this method found elsewhere.

I have installed ASA5505 in the network. Port forwarding has been done for one of the server in our LAN. Public users are able to access the server successfully. I am trying to access from inside using the same Public server IP, but unable to access it. Can I have this feature in ASA5505(I think it is loopback configuration). View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I have a current port-channel between two 6ks that I need to upgrade. There's too much traffic and the port buffers on the SUP7203B sort of suck. Microbursts are causing overruns like mad. Im going to move the 2x1gig port-channel to a 6724 and make it a 3x1gig port-channel. The switches carry production traffic across the link to the tune of about 400 meg during the lowest load time. Initially, I thought that I couldn't move the port channel without temporarily taking down the link but I think I have a workable solution now. Has anyone done this successfully before? Im curious what others have done. Also, to make matters worse, the existing port-channel is 'mode on' and I want to migrate to 'mode active' in the new channel

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo everything I've read on Cisco's documentation here: URL says that I can create a port-channel on two physical interfaces that will uplink to a VSS pair. However, the command is not recognized. What am I missing? I've tried executing "channel-group #" on the physical interface and tried creating the port-channel 1st and neither commands exist. I haven't seen it listed anywhere if it is only available after a specific piece of ASA software. If it is the software what version at a minimum I need to upgrade to? I have created an access-list that looks like this:
access-list 102 extended permit tcp any host 10.10.60.2 eq telnet
But when do this it still doesnt forward my request to the router at 10.10.60.2 . So just to explain what im trying to do. I use Putty, i am putting the outside interface IP into putty, selecting telnet and opening the session. i need the outside interface to see this request and know to forward port 23 to the router on the inside interface with IP 10.10.60.2. The ASA is running version: asa842-k8.bin
I am trying to correctly configure our ASA 5520 and our Mitel Border Gateway in our DMZ. In the documentation for the Mitel border gateway it wants me to set up 2 external IP's on my ASA one to allow 443 traffice into the MBG, and another for 443 traffic that needs to be forwarded to port 4443 for the MGB in the DMZ. My problem is I don't know how to do this. the MBG only has one IP, and I need to have 2 different URL's mapped to two different external IP's both externally using port 443, and one of them forwarding to 4443 on the DMZ interface.

I have an ASA 5520 and I'm using Solar winds real time interface tool to monitor the through put of the port. It seems I can never get it to use more than 100mb, where should I check?
I have run a sh int giga 0/1 and it shows the port is 1000mb full duplex and the I have also checked the other end where it plugs into the LAN and this also says the port is running at 1000mb full duplex.
I am having difficulty following the logic of the port-translation. Here is the configuration on a 5505 with 8.3,So I would have thought the outside access-list should reference the 'mapped' port but even with 3398 open I cannot remote desktop to the host. If I open 3389 then I can connect successfully.

and here is my dilemma.
I can SSH from the internet to my ASA on default port 22, directly to my public IP. I can SSH from the internet to my Cisco 1841 on port 2001. I can not however, SSH to my Cat 2960. From what i can tell, on the Cat2960 i can't change the default port 22 for SSH to different port, just like i did on the Cisco 1841. I looked to see if I can change the default port for SSH on he ASA, it does not look like this is an option.
The bottom line is that i want to be able to SSH to all three devices from the internet. I only have one public IP. As of now, what i can do is only SSH to the ASA on default port 22 directly to the public IP and Cisco 1841 on port 2001. It appears that changing the default SSH port on Cat 2960 is not an option. It also appears that I can't change the default SSH port on the ASA, if i could, i would and then i should be able to SSH to the Cat 2960 on port 22. No matter what i did on the ASA, it always listens on port 22 for SSH connections.

I made some configuration using ASDM(not familiar with the CLI) but not working and it caused existing NAT not to work, for example RDP(TCP 3389) connection to 38.96.179.220
The things I am trying to achieve are
1. two way commucation between 192.168.5.50 in DMZ and 10.5.44.220 in Inside for SecureAuthPorts and SecureAuthOutbound service groups

I have a handheld device that will be used for inventory outside of our office. It has 3g capabilities. Is there anyway I can permit traffic from this device from the outside world coming into my network? I need to open a couple of ports so it can hit the server. But I have no intention to open these ports up to the entire world. I use an ASA 5520 with a managed router from our provider.
