However, whenever I try and run the ASDM client, I get the following error:
"Your ASA image has a version number 8.4(4)1 which is not supported by ASDM 6.2(1)."
How do I get the latest version installed on my Mac desktop? I know that I can connect via the web interface and run the ASDM client, but the same error persists. I have the asdm-649-103.bin file, but cannot connect to the ASA to install (I don't recall ever setting up SSH).
Recently, I have bought an ASA 5505 firewall which I have tried to connect to my ADSL router (Modem). It is now more than a week that I am trying to get internet connection through the firewall but I still can't succeed. I have tried many advices I get from this community but I still don't know what is wrong with my ASA Firewall configuration. From inside I am able to ping the inside and outside interface with a great success. and from my laptop which is connected to the firewall, I am able to ping the both interfaces (inside and outside) but still I can't access the internet.
As I don't have a static IP address from my ISP, I have configured the outside interface to pick up the ip address dynamically. Most of the time, the outside interface get the 192.168.1.2 ip address. [code]
so we have been using our current ASA5505 for a long time. Since it only support up to 10 VPN licenses, so we buy a new ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K9(support up to 25 users).
the old ASA are running: 8.0.3 and ASDM 6.0.3 the new ASA are running: 8.2.5 and ASDM 6.4.5
I thought it would be simple as export and import the config file, but when i tried to restore, the new one is looking for a zip file but the old one doesn;t backup file in ZIP. It looks like i need to update the ASA version or/and ASDM?
I am pretty new to this and never upgrade any of these versions since I am aware of the upgrade may mess things up. So do I need to upgrade both the ASA version and the ASDM in order to restore my config? any effect if i do the upgrade? I also read some articles, we need to upgrade on the version one by one, like 8.0 to 8.1 then 8.2?
I have a network with 3 sites that are on different subnets. Each site has an ASA Right now, I am only able to connect to the ASA that is connected to the subnet I am connected to.I want to be able to connect to the ASA that are on the remote subnets on the address of the inside interface. The sites are connected all together by site-to-site VPN.Is there any way I can achieve that without opening the outside interface directly on the Internet?
configuring the ASA particulary after the change to how NAT is implemented. What I am trying to accomplish logically seems fairly simple, yet I cannot get it to work. I have a Synology NAS at home that I am trying to reach via the internet. Prior to using my ASA, I had Verizon's FIOS router as my gateway and everything forwarded with no issues. The ports I need forwarded or reachable via the internet are TCP port 80 and 5000.I can also configure it via command line if that's the easier/preferred method.
Yesterday, I configured ASA via CLI for Static PAT and created some entries in an access-list. I will be testing that setup this evening.
However on a quick double check of the settings on the device via ASDM I could not see the acess-list settings. I searched every tab and found nothing so I PuTTYed into the device and checked the running config. The rules I created were right there. Is this something I should expect? If so doesn't it defeat the point of having a GUI if it does not show a complete running config?
I recently upgraded Java to JRE version 1.7.0 and now when I try to login to the ASA 5510, I get the following message in the java console log.Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ClassCastException: sun.security.ssl.X509TrustManagerlmpl cannot be cast to com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.X509ExtendedTrustManager at com.sun.deploy.security,X509ExtendedDeployTrustManager.<init>(Unknown Source)
Remote LAN pool is configured as inside. Route is proper. I am able to open 443 port from the remote LAN pool on the ASA. That means, the port is open from the remote pool. No response if I try https on the browser.
I am trying to veiw my PIX515e via the ASDM, but I am unable to...Can you review my config and make sure I have everything setup the way it is supposed to?
When i tried to login through ASDM at Cisco ASA 5510, it ask for the username and password and after that nothing comes up. I am able to login through ssh. [code]
As per my knowledge show bootvar and show version, should shows the same IOS version. But here it's showing different. Is asdm-523 is compatible with IOS asa708.
I recently had a vendor configure our 2 firewalls (ASA5520). We are replacing a active-failover PIX525 firewall in 2 locations. After the vendor configured the new ASA5520's, I was unable to access the ASDM. The configurations are a basically modified versions of the config on the PIX525. I did find that they did not set the ASDM image path. [code]
I have tried from my browser as well as downloading and installing th ASDM on my computer.
I have a normal setup of ASA5505 (without security license) connected behind an internet router. From the ASA5505 console I can ping the Internet. However, users behind the Firewall on the internal LAN, cannot ping the Internet even though NATing is configured. The users can ping the Inside interface of the Firewall so there is no internal reachability problem. In addition, I noticed that the NAT inside access list is not having any hit counts at all when users are trying to reach the internet.
When i replace the ASA5505 with a router with NAT overload configuration on it, the setup works normally and users are able to browse the internet.
The ASA5505 configuration is shown below.
hostname Firewall
interface Ethernet0/0 description Connected To Internet Router switchport access vlan 10
i am unable to launch ASDM, and access https:// to run Asdm..everything worked find yesterday but now for some reason it wont work? When i am trying to log in with the asdm it just hangs on the connecting to device... please wait...When i am tryng access the https://... i get the ssl do you want to trust.. and i press proceed anyway and i get an error
Asa 5510 Device manager version 6.1 System image file is "disk0:/asa804-k8.bin
Also i am accessing the asa with ssh without any issues
Internet ISP -> Juniper SRX 210 Ge-0/0/0 Juniper fe0/0/2 -> Cisco ASA 5505 Cisco ASA 5505 - >Inernal LAN switch.
1. Internet is connected to Juniper Ge0/0/0 via /30 IP.
2. Juniper fe0/0/2 port is configured as inet port and configured the Internal public LAN pool provided by the ISP. And this port is directly connected to Cisco ASA 5505 E0/0. Its a /28 pool IP address. This interface is configured as outside and security level set to 0.
From Juniper SRX, am able to ping public Internet IPs (8.8.8.8).
Issue:
1. From ASA am unable to ping public ip configured on Juniper G0/0/0 port.(/30) 2. From ASA no other Public internet IP is pinging.
Troubleshooting Done so far.
1, Configured icmp inspection on ASA. 2. Used the packet tracer in ASA, it shows the packet is flowing outside without a drop. 3. Allowed all services in untrust zone in bound traffic in Juniper SRX. 4. Viewed the logs when I was trying the ping 8.8.8.8 in ASA. It says "Tear down ICMP connection for faddrr **** gaddr **
I have an ASA 5510 in a live environment. Up til a short while ago I could access this via the ASDM and ssh. However I can no longer connect to it via eithier. When I access It via SSH I get a disclaimer saying the following
*** You have entered a restricted zone! Authorized access only!!! Disconnect immediately if you are not authorized user! ***
It then cuts me off.
When I try to access the ASDM I get the following
The firewall is running all its services without a problem and I can ping the device without any issues. Also none of the config (to my knpowledge has been changed). I set up a console session and http server enable is still there with
I've been struggling with gaining access to the inter through our Comcast business gateway. We have had Comcast configure the device fro true static IP subnetting. Turned of local DHCP on the device etc. Here is my config.
I have an unusual issue, for which I can find nothing on the net similar.
Setup:
ASA5505 = > CISCO3524 => Windows 2012 server
ASA is internet edge with ACL / NAT implemented.
We are wanting to implement inbound NATs for this server - 3389. We have many other servers on the internal side of this ASA that we are NATing to. Creating NATs using the same outside IP to another server is fine, no issues. This other test server resides on the same VLAN as the windows 2012 server. All IPv6 is turned off on the W2012 server, and it can web-browse out via the ASA as well. No matter what I do, however I cannot get iinbound NAT, on ANY port to this server working. Internally from another server to this server on any port is fine, i.e. we can RDP to this server without issue, so we know this works - the firewall on this server is turned off too. This is our ONLY w2012 server on the internal side. When we run a wireshark on the server whilst testing the NAT there is no traffic, so its getting blocked somewhere.
The config of the ASA is fairly big to to santize it and remove all customer reference would take a while to make display of this secure difficult.
I have an ASA5505 running ver 8.0(2). I have configured the ssh timeout, ssh host commands and did the crypt o key gen. I am unable to access the device from the host I am allowing. Is there like ca save all command required? I am trying to use the default pix and telnet password. Do those still work?
I need connecting ASDM to ASA 5525x management port its a brand new ASA i just updated ios and ASDM port configuration is following
Management por 0/0 ip 192.168.1.1 secure-level 100 http server enable http 192.168.1.10 255.255.255.255 inside port is up
When I am launching Internet explorer it just said cant connect Chrome shows connection with 192.168.1.1 is was interrupted but i can ping asa and backward .
I have a problem with ASDM connection to ASA 5520 cluster. When I'm trying to connect the ASDM shows: "Contacting the device. Please wait..." and nothing happen. The http server is enabled with default port. Both cluster members after restart.
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.4(1) Device Manager Version 6.4(1)
Ths only hapeens at one location. All the other locations are working the difference is this location goes through the firewall. If I bypass the firewall at this location it works.
I was able to connect to my ASA 5510 with a browser, install ASDM, and configure my ASA 5510 with my Windows 7 laptop. Since I needed the laptop for another task, I am now trying to connect using a Linux laptop to do the same, but without success.
I can ssh into the firewall using the management port (192.168.1.1) from the Linux command line. However, I cannot connect using a browswer (192.168.1.1) to install ASDM.
After pulling a brand new ASA5515 out of the box this morning, I spent countless hours scratching my head wondering why:
1. I cannot establish an HTTPS connection to the Management port - https://192.168.1.1/admin
2. When connecting via the console port I get prompted with a username and password sequence that I don't know
I get an SSL Version Error message when I try to connect with any browser. although I did find a way to resolve it, it requires a console port connection which is not working either. This is not my typical experience with the console or ASDM port setup.
I have the below configuration for a cisco asa 5505. There is a ADSL router in front of the ASA which has a static IP. I set up a remote-access VPN (using the wizard), but I cannot connect to the ASA firewall as the attached VPN client log shows. My only concern is that there might be something missing, ie a static route that goes to the inside interface. [code]
I am a beginner to ASA. I am trying to connect the ASA 5505 behind the netgear ADSL router which is getting dynamic IP address from the ISP. How to configure the ASA5505 outside interface for SSL VPN connectivity?
I have been working on a configuration for single IP address (on outside ) of ASA5505.I am trying to utilize the outside address 192.168.0.249 to PAT/NAPT to 10 inside machines [code]
What I am not sure of (actually that could be considered all encompassing) is the mapped services/real services.Any constructive comments assistance?
The history about this box is that they had access through the ASDM untill they changed the management interfaces to Vlan 50.
The pix firewall is 192.168.50.10 and my interface to my PC is on Vlan 10 which is 192.168.10.115. I can ping 192.168.50.10 but I am unable to access this through ASDM. I believe the pix is denying me.
When I look in the config i see the ASDM image and I see that they have http server enabled.
I see my network 192.168.10.0 as inside but I don't see 192.168.50.0.
