Cisco Firewall :: Management Interface In Cluster ASA 5515x?

I have a misanderstand about management interface configuration in cluster. So I have a cluster asa 5515X with management interface. i Would like to be able to connect to any of the member of my cluster on management interface, so i would like to fix a different ip on management interface on each of my node ip 92 and 91. I think it is the only way to make asa firmware update to access local flash on each node.

I have a cluster of 5 AP541Ns. I accidentally started the auto update of IP addresses based on reduction of interference, and it changed the wireless channels on all of the APs. I disabled it, but he channel settings did not change.Now if I remember correctly, before making this setting, they were all on the same channel, 6. Should they all be on the same channel? If so what setting or procedur do I have to do to get them all back on the same channel? (do I have to manually set the channel?)

I am having issues with the ASA 5510 management interface. I can't communicate with this interface. It is showing DOWN/DWON even if I type NO SHUT several times.

I have a brand new ASA5512-X running 8.6.1, and am trying to do an initial setup using the Quick Start Guide that came with it. However, the Management Interface is not working. I have a PC connected and set to use DHCP, but the port is not active. I connected a console cable and can see in the config that the interface is shutdown. So I set it to active, and the port is now active, but is not giving out a DHCP address as the guide says it should.I would like to use the ASDM Startup Wizard to configure this device, so how do I get it to work the way the instructions say it should?

I have two ASA 5520 with 4 Giga interfaces and 1 management interface.
I need to use 4 interfaces four data traffic
1- Inside
2- Outside
3- dmz-1
4- dmz-2
The remaining will be the management interface only.How can I configure the Statefull failover and Management?
1- I used the management0/0 for The stateful failover.
2- I used gig 0 for outside
3- I used gig 1 for inside
4- I used gig 2 for dmz-1
5- I divided the gig 3 to two sub interfaces
a- gig0/3.1 for dmz-2
b- gig0/3.2 for Management and I defined it as a management-only

I try to SSH and get access denied.
I try to ASDM and get "Unable to launch device manager from 172.16.252.100"
I think I am missing something. Software is 8.4(5) and running in Transparent Mode.
Inside/Outside are in bridge-group 1. No BVI is configured as we will be using Management0/0 for access.

I have not been able to find any details on this subject which state it is or it is not possible. This will be used for Syslog logging.

I seem to get conflicting information on using the Management port as a regular routed interface on the ASA5510..The management interface can be used for the traffic that passes through the firewall as well. The Security Plus License for the ASA 5510 is required in order to use the management0/0 port as a regular interface. With a base license on the 5510, the management0/0 port cannot be used as a regular interface.
I believe that I saw another post that mentioned it was part of the standard IOS if you had a later version.

We have several pairs of ASA5510s in failover A/P mode, some running 8.3(2) and others running 8.4(1).
e0/0 = outside
e0/1 = inside
m0/0 = management
The problem we're having is we can't get anything to route out of the management interface unless we put in a static route at least to the subnet level. For example, we want syslog traffic to exit out m0/0 to our syslog server 10.71.211.79. Our 'gateway of last resort' points to the next hop out e0/0, and a second static route with a higher metric and a more distinct network space is for m0/0 as in:
route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.49.129 1route management 10.72.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.72.232.94 10
This doesn't work, and ASDM loggin gives this error: ".....Routing failed to locate next hop for udp from NP Identity Ifc:10.72.232.89/514 to management:10.72.211.79/514"
If I put in a more granular subnet route, or a host route of the syslog server it works, such as:
route management 10.72.211.0 255.255.255.0 10.72.232.94 10 <------------- this works
route management 10.72.211.79 255.255.255.255 10.72.232.94 10 <------------- this works too
Why won't a static route for 10.71.0.0 255.255.0.0 work in this case?
We are going to have numerous hosts access and be sent messages though the management interface of these ASAs, and it would be very burdonsome to have to add a host, or even a subnet, route for every one. I've removed all static routes and tried to rely on EIGRP, but that doesn't work. I also had to put 'passive-interface management' under the EIGRP for this to work.
Here is the pertinant ASA config concerning syslog, routing, and interfaces:

After I have upgraded our ASA 5510 to 8.4.2 I have problem with the management interface.Our former firmware 8.2.3 had no problem using the management interface as a DMZ zone, but after we upgraded to 8.4.2 we can't make it work.The interface and the protocol is up, when I type: show interface.But when I ping the interface from a computer connectet to the interface, nothing happens.
Even the logging shows nothing.

I will be implementing a new firewall (cisco asa 5515x) on my existing 3750x (server switches) and my 2960s (user switches). What should I need to apply on my firewall and swtiches to make the implementation successfull. I will put my 3750x as my DMZ and my 2960s as my inside. The 3750x have multiple subnet and also the 2960s.which features and technologies i need to know on those 3 products. my 3750x and 2960s don't have any ACL defined and most common features are vlan, switchport, trunking, spanning-tree, stacking, vtp.how my asa knows that my 3750x/2960s have multiple vlans. my current connection right now on 3750x and 2960s is just through 6 ports i assigned as one trunk, below is my config [code]
my 2960s vlans are almost the same with my 3750x except vlan 160, 170, 192. but of course when i put this in asa, i have to segragate vlan for 3750x (192, 100, 110,160, 170) and 2960s (130, 150). for my 2960s connection to the asa and since this will have big bandwidth, i will use 3 ports on my asa (and trunk it) connecting to my 2960s and i will use 2 ports on my asa (and trunk it) connecting to my 3750x. the one internet ports and my one management ports on my asa will stay like that.

I have a strange issue which happened to me last weekend with two ASA 5515X on version 8.6(1)2. There was a planned power shutdown which only affected the primary firewall. Failover was configured and running successfully. The configuration was also saved after every change made. After power was shut and primary firewall went off the secondary took over like it should but unfortunately all configuration was gone. We immediately powered on the primary again but also this one lost the configuration.
While reconfiguring the firewall we ran into another problem. The devices won't pair although it was the correct configuration. After three times removing and adding the same failover configuration the devices accepted the failover and worked together again.
I went through the bug toolkit and white papers regarding ASA 5515x and this particular version but were not able to find anything.

My customer has a rather complex configuration on an ASA 5510 running version 8.2.
They are migrating to new ASA 5515X models which of course only version support 8.6
How can i convert the configuration from 8.2 to 8.6 since the new ASA's do not support the earlier versions?
The X series seems to be a great option for new deployments but what about replacements of existing older models?

I am in a process of replacing the Cisco ASA 5510 with 7.3 OS with a new Cisco ASA 5515X with 8.6OS. In the existing Cisco ASA 5510, we have configured 'no nat-control' for which the traffic from all sub-interfaces were flowing to the lower security interfaces without any NAT command. Just access-lists were configured. Now how do i acheive the same in the Cisco ASA 5515X with 8.6? I do not find any 'no nat-control' command available for it.

I have ASA 5515x and it has already Internet Connection since my firewall is not "production". So right now I'm trying to configure a Remote Session just for a test and eventually I was not able to connect from it. I followed the instructions from technotes but still Remote Connection dropped. Here's my sample configuration on my firewall, btw I also configured a service policy rule and ACL just to make sure if I can able to access the Server inside my network but Session also dropped.

I have a FWSM cluster that I exceeded the maximum number of static nat entries on. i migrated the connectivity off to a pair of PIX 535's that seem to be handling the adderess translation needs. however the number of NAT entries being required is increasing and being the PIX series wal EOL'd several years back..I need to replace them.. The static 1-1 nat entries cannot be summarized into network as the hosts that are being nat'd are scattered all over various micro subnets in the all 3 rfc1918 ipv4 address ranges and they are being manged directly by snmp and SNMP-trap and other services that prohibit the use of many-to-one nat. Is there a mknown maximum number of static 1-1 nat entries that can be defined on the ASA 5515-x, 5525=x and higher ASA firewalls? Say I wanted to be able to grow to 2500 or more static 1-1 nat entries. I am currently running 2010 1-1 static host nats currently.

I'm working on a BoM for a customer and i need to offer an ASA5525-X pair in HA with AVC and WSE subscritption, I've two question:
1) In order to use AVC and WSE I need the ASA bundle that includes the SSD HD right? (ASA5525-SSD120-K9)
2) In order to have both ASA's in HA, do i need to order two Suscriptions (ASA5525-AW3Y-PR) or only one that is "shared" in the cluster?

We currently had to RMA both PIX 525s due to increasing crc errors. After swapping the old ones with the new we are still seeing crc errors on all gig interfaces. We have swapped the gig nic's and the sfp's and the fiber patch cables, yet still the crc errors continue to climb.
Another thing that's interesting is that when we disconnect the secondary we see an increase in throughput.

a customer have 2 pix 525 with ver 7.0.1 in a failover configuration with serial cable and 2 sc fiber interface and 2 fastethernet 1 used for failover. the strange behaviour is that when i try to do traffic from inside to dmz or dmz to inside the maximum transfer is 862Kb/s to 1MB/s not more.... i don't understand what's happened. the show mem and show cpu are normal 7% mem used and 1-2% cpu used. attached you will find the configuration.

we are going to upgrade our 5580 ASA Cluster from 7.2 to 8.2 and want to do it like this way ( which worked for all 7.x upgrades ) :download asa8.2 Image to primary + secondary Firewallreboot primary ( message come up " mate version ...)reboot secondary.Does it works any experience? Does it work if both firewall can see each other during the boot process ?
Do I have to bring the secondary into the monitor mode so the fw is not visible for the primary ?

We have the following setup on our Cisco ASA version 8.6.1 One to one NAT rule from outside to our Exchange 2010 cluster IP address (DAG group). This is working fine for clients on the internet accessing their emails via Exchange using their phones. The ASA has the MAC address of the active node from the cluster but when the cluster failover it cache the IP address and are not updating the new MAC when the cluster failover. So users from the outside are unable to connect to the new node from outside the ASA as the MAC address from the passive node is in the MAC table. The MAC address on all the switches update within 2 seconds on the internal network and users don't notice any outage.
