I need to recover the passwords for my 3750 stack (2 switches), I have the password recovery documentation but it seems to be referring to recovery for one switch. How do I go about recovery when in a stack, should I remove the links on the switches and recover each one separately?Alternatively can I do a factory reset on them
View 1 RepliesI have a cisco PIX-515e which i have connected to a emulator through the console port, and im having trouble erasing data from it. I can get into 'pixfirewall' mode and 'monitor' mode but thats as far as i get. i have tried 'write erase' and 'configure factory-default' in both modes to no success.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIm trying to recover the password from my stacked switchs(doing procedure on master switch),im following a guide i have read in this forum("SRW248G4 V1.1 unable to reset password"), at console terminal have chosen "password Recovery" it prompts the "current password will be ignored" and then i hit "Escape" the switch start loading de configuration, at this point i attempt to login from telnet or http but the login fails.
Here is the password/username combo im using (admin/blank ; admin/admin). Is it possible to restore admin password or should i just hardware reset the switchs?
We were unable to login to a 3825 with a known good password, so we used Cisco's Password Recovery Procedure for that device. We were successful in resetting the password, and had access to the CLI. However, when we logged out of the router, then attempted to log back in, the 'Invalid Password' prompt again came up.We have to use password recovery each and every time we need to access the CLI. Might this be an NVRAM problem?

I recently decomissioned an 871 from a small business site and the owner did not want the device anymore. So now I'm trying to use it back at the office in the sandbox, however I don't know the password to the device and neither does the business owner. There's a reset button on the back, but from what I've read (here), it only loads a different config file found on the internal flash. Tried this, no dice. Is this essentially a bricked router now or is there anything else I can do to clear the config and repurpose it for my use?

Its autonomous so there is no controller. I renamed the config.txt file I am unable to rename or delete the private-config file. I get the message that file or directory cannot be found when i try to rename and permission denied when I try to delete it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving trouble resetting the baud rate to 9600 on a 3750-E. Basically the device cannot be set to anything other than 115200 baud rate. I have changed this via startup-config (which lost connection) reconnected and saved config but after reload was back to 115200. Tried via bootloader to 'set 9600' but the termial program paused for a bit then the switch prompt returned. Tried the same to 'unset baud' but the same thing as above happened. I have erased and reloaded flash etc
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing a strange problem i have a switch stack of 3750 in which 4 switches are cascaded. there is one one switch shows PROVISIONED status when I run "show switch". i have verified the stack cable connectivity its OK.
now when i try to console that particular switch i am unable to access it as well. I tried to reboot that switch and on reboot it only shows one LED syst blink once and after that remains constant and nothing happens to other LEDS. from the back of the switch FAN is working fine.

I have been asked to do a network survey at a client. They are using the Cisco SGE2000 switch, which is new to me (used to working with 3750 switches). The 48 port switch at one time was provisioned as switch 3 in the stack (not the master). Correct me if I am wrong, but theoretically all I should need to do to get this working is to shut off the existing master so it re-elects a master and then provision the 48 port switch as the new switch one and make sure switch 1 has a high priority?
Do I need to write erase the switch that is replacing the current master first?

I've inherited a IAD2430 router but I don't have the ena passwords nor am I able to do a break and do a password recovery. I'm familiar with the password recovery process and config reg settings but this one has me stumped.
The config register is set to 0x2102 so I see nothing at all when it boots until it's completed and I get the prompt to "Press RETURN to get started!" I get to non priv mode but without the password obviously I'm going nowhere at that point. All the docs I've come across so far assume you can break out of the boot process or are already in rommon. When I remove the flash: I get no output at all... The IAD has no "reset" button like the CAT switches either..

I assume from this the required bin has either been removed, renamed or overwritten.As soon as the router boots it requires a password and I dont have the password to be able ftp files in and out of it.

What I did to lose my connectivity to it (via IP, console is OK), but I'd like to start from scratch and during my learning/experimentation I will undoubtedly need to do this over and over until I get things right.
I've found various guides, none of which look like what I am after. Basically, I want to return this to the condition that it was in when it came out of the box. IOS is version 12.4(6)T11 .

I am trying to factory reset CE500 switch, as described in the factory rest section of the documentation. I do not get an IP address via DHCP from the switch.
On boot up I hold the setup button down, wait till the lights go solid amber release setup. wait for a port on the switch to start blinking green port 1 starts blinking green, plug my pc into port and wait for IP..and keep waiting !!!!
I have tried this on 3 switches now all with the same result.... NO IP offered.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WRV210-A V01 (Software: 2.0.1.5) router that when originally purchased I upgraded the firmware to the newest 2.0.1.5. However after the firmware upgrade the router has not worked right since. [I thought maybe the upgrade did not take, and successfully pushed the firmware 3x times]
Everytime you login to the webpage the right-side pane you have to scroll down 3x pages until you can see the settings options. It does that for everypage you visit you have to scroll down 3x pages until you can see the settings.
The wireless is sporadic and dropping connections, and now certain options like changing the "Basic Rate:" from "All' to "Default" does nothing and wont let you change it.
The main issue I have is that certain wireless settings like changing the "AP Isolation:" cause the router to reset back to factory defaults. and even trying to configure the LAN setup also randomly makes the router reset to factory default.
Is there any possible way to factory reset an AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 that was once attached to a WLC via SSH? I dont have physical access to it and the old WLC has long been decommissioned. I have tried the clear command but since it is in CAPWAP mode that command has been disabled. I know I can press and hold the mode button and reset it that way but I need to know if its possible through SSH to be reset. I have two that are in need of being reset in order to connect to the new WLC.
