Then suddenly is not communicating... Our router Cisco 1800 from head office can ping the route Cisco 1900 on the site office, but the site office cannot ping.Why the router of head office can ping the site office router, and the site cannot? What is causing this situation?

I have the following network connected and configured to a single Cisco 1800 router.
VLAN 2 (10.1.20.0/24)

VLAN 2 is server vlan with a webserver.
VLAN 3 is clients.
NAT configuration:
VLAN 2 and VLAN 3 is using NAT to access the internet, and both is configured as inside interfaces.fa0 is configured as outside interface. Now I don't know if this is about NAT, but I've tried several things without luck.
Problem:
A client in VLAN 3 tries to access a domain on the webserver in VLAN 2.It starts by sending a DNS query to a DNS server located at the ISP, and gets the ip address for the domain, which is of course a public ip address. Then nothing happens because the client tries to access the domain on the webserver using the public ip address, and the webserver have a local ip address 10.1.20.20 which is on the local LAN (VLAN 2).
I've tried NAT because I have to change the destination ip address, but I can't seem to get it right.

He would like to be able to estimate how much memory the DNS cache will consume before going into production. I know you can get cache information when it's running, but he wants to plan ahead.I couldn't find any reports in Cisco or on the web of DNS caching causing memory issues, so I don't think he has much to worry about, but any rule of thumb as to how much memory each cache entry consumes would be useful. Or is there a protection mechanism to limit cache memory size in IOS ? The routers will be 877s and/or 1900-series.

I read some documents which reads Netflow ver.9 can be enabled on Cisco GSR 12000 Series, but no mention about catalyst switches. Netflow ver 9 can be activated on catalyst 6500 series.. because the point where switch is located already have mpls encapsulated packet ( mpls vpn packet).
I have recently had to rebuild the cookie information for a cisco 877 series router due to it being erased by an electrical surge.
I've successfully got it running again by copying the cookies from an identical router (obviously changing the serial numbers and so forth so it passes its verification checks).
The last piece of information I need is the Chassis MAC Address. I don't want to use the one from another router since there will probably be conflicts.

I'm trying to update some of my network diagrams, but I can't find an accurate stencil for the 3560G. All of the 24-port 3560 stencils only have 2 GBIC ports on them, and the 3560G has 4. Seems trivial, but I'd like to have my diagrams be accurate, and this makes that difficult.

I am new in networking. All my knowledge is based on books and no real life experience. At my job I am required to set up the network and configure all apparatus I never worked before with.
We have regular cable internet in the office. Modem is connected to Apple router (time capsule). No trouble. Now we are getting fibre optic in the office. Mngmnt has abought the following Cisco stuff:
Cisco Wireless Controller 2504
Cisco 3501 AP 802.11g/n Ctrlr based AP
Cisco ASA 5510 Firewall appliance
Cisco Power Injector AP3500 Series
According to my understding, the fibre optic point will be connected to ASA which will be further connected to wireless controller and then access point.
I cant find the requird info. The guides available at cisco are for when you use CLI and as a beginner I prefer to use GUI. While trying to config ASA, there are many questions I can't find the answers.
How do I know which hardware I have? I can't find a HW version anywhere on the appliance or in WLSE itself. I am guessing 1105 beacuse I saw a 1105 as part of the path in the repository.

The top of my router (where the model number is displayed), only has E4200. I have looked through my receipts, the box it came in, and anything else I can find to do with the router - they all have the E4200v2. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a client whom uses a DSL 10 MG circuit as their backup circuit for Internet Connectivity in case of a failure. The circuit uses a DSL modem that is unreliable. I was recommending yesterday tot he client that perhaps we could place a Cisco router in place of the residential grade DSL modem /router currently in place.I wanted to place a 1900 ISR G2 in there, which would allow me to swap the DSL module out whenever I can talk the company into a Metro E connection. At that point I could swap the DSL module out and put an Ethernet module in to receive the Metro E. I was not able to find a solution last night using the Dynamic Configuration Tool. Seems DSL has been phased out.Is there any recommendation that could be made to accommodate this clients request for a Cisco router that will handle DSL?
