Cisco Infrastructure :: How To Find Out 877 Mac Address
Jan 10, 2013
I have recently had to rebuild the cookie information for a cisco 877 series router due to it being erased by an electrical surge.
I've successfully got it running again by copying the cookies from an identical router (obviously changing the serial numbers and so forth so it passes its verification checks).
The last piece of information I need is the Chassis MAC Address. I don't want to use the one from another router since there will probably be conflicts.
I tried following this Field Note, even though it isn't specifically for my model and it didn't work.

how I can get the mac address from the system somehow?
I'm trying to update some of my network diagrams, but I can't find an accurate stencil for the 3560G. All of the 24-port 3560 stencils only have 2 GBIC ports on them, and the 3560G has 4. Seems trivial, but I'd like to have my diagrams be accurate, and this makes that difficult.
I need to find an iOS version that supports BGP, Dot1q, and MPLS for either a 1800 series or 1900 series not sure the best place to find this sort of info out.
I am new in networking. All my knowledge is based on books and no real life experience. At my job I am required to set up the network and configure all apparatus I never worked before with.
We have regular cable internet in the office. Modem is connected to Apple router (time capsule). No trouble. Now we are getting fibre optic in the office. Mngmnt has abought the following Cisco stuff:
Cisco Wireless Controller 2504 Cisco 3501 AP 802.11g/n Ctrlr based AP Cisco ASA 5510 Firewall appliance Cisco Power Injector AP3500 Series
According to my understding, the fibre optic point will be connected to ASA which will be further connected to wireless controller and then access point.
I cant find the requird info. The guides available at cisco are for when you use CLI and as a beginner I prefer to use GUI. While trying to config ASA, there are many questions I can't find the answers.
we just replace 6500 with N7K, after migration there're some device (server,pc,printer) change its ip address configuration (subnet and gateway) by it self. can N7K did it?
One of our Cat5513 has been displaying a lot of the error message below:
%SYS-4-P2_WARN: 8/Invalid traffic from multicast source address 01:00:5a:52:4c:4d on port 8/58
The frequency of this is quite disturbing. What this error is about? Module no.8 is our Gigabit Ethernet WS-X5410. Can that multicast address be mapped to an IP address or unicast mac-addresS? How can i go about resolving this?
I have been working nicely with an industrial scanner that runs on Linux, but the harddrive has become corrupted and I need to get it working again. The problem is that the main PCB has a realtek chip which I believe has the most basic webserver abilities that is used in the most basic way possible. To use it ARP commands were used to assign an IP address to the chips MAC address e.g. something like: arp -s 192.168.2.5 00-05-a4-00-a8-f8(the actual MAC address was lost along with the HD)So now I'm starting from scratch in XP, how do I find the MAC address in the first place?
How would i find a "server address"? It is for an app i downloaded on my phone, the app is for my job...it allows me to view my schedule, punch in/out, request time off, etc..Our company (lowes) uses Kronos, which all of our scheduling, payroll, etc is all thriugh and they came out with app but you have to have "server address" We are on the Workforce Central 6.1 Version Suite.. I tried finding it while at work yesterday with no luck, I only found site address of which I couldnt even pull up here at home.
We have a pair of Cisco 6513 switches, to which a selection of Wintel/Linux/UNIX servers are attached, but we have some connections that we can't identify and the data centre is a remote lights-out operation operated by a 3rd party in another country. determining which server NIC ports connect through (via patch panels) to which ports on the Cisco switches. In particular, I have a UNIX (HP-UX) server that has 4 dual port NICs (ie. 8 LAN ports), of which only one is assigned an IP address, but I can see that the other ports have connectivity at level 2 (HP-UX has a "linkloop" command that is analogous to an IP "ping" but takes a MAC address, and I get a response from each when I check from another server). This means that I know that there is a physical, electrical, and level 2 connection. The one server port with the active IP address set up shows in the switches address table ("sh mac-address-table") and it gives the port it is attached to. But the remaining 7 ports do not have IP addresses assigned and so are not listed in the table.
In the run box I enter cmd and hit enter. It got me to the command promt and I typed in ipconfig/all and hit enter. It displayed Windows IP Configuation but nothing else except another C prompt. Windows XP version 5.1.2600 What next?

I can usually solve most problems given enough time but after 4x hours work I have admitted defeat.I need the Mac Address of my Wireless printer so I can set mac filters for our laptops and printer. The printer is an HP F4500 all in one wireless printer.I managed to find out how to print a configuration page but there is no ip or mac address on it.Tried Ipconfig /all on the laptop and it only lists the ip and Mac address of the netbook.Phoned HP twice. wasted half hour being transferred all over the place then told to check their tech website. Nothing on their website about obtaining mac address naturally
I have an iPod 4G running iOS 5.0.1, and have accidentally downloaded an app that runs on 4.2.1. This messed up my iPod's screen calibration and dimensions completely, and I need to boot it in safe mode to fix it. All that I need is to SSH it, but I can't get its IP address, because I can't do anything on it! How do I get my iPod's IP address to SSH it?
I'm trying to wirelessly connect my HP Photosmart printer series C4780 to my mac osx even though I have the disc it is now asking me for the ip address, this doesn't seem to be anywhere on the device.
