I can no longer set WPA2 security for both bands (used to work just fine). Every time I try to save settings for WPA2 for the 5 GHz band, it tells me it was successful but then displays that the security mode is disabled (and it shows up on my computers list as not having any security enabled. If not, where can I get a copy of the old firmware that worked?
View 8 Replies View RelatedFor some strange reason I was looking at my router and wanted to check and see if there were any firmware upgrades available. I was not having any issues. I noticed that there was an upgrade and one of the notes indicated that it fixed some speed issues. I saved my config before upgrading and reloaded config after upgrading the firmware.Since the upgrade, I have lost connectivity to my printer and have intermittent issues with my remote dvr.The printer is connected wirelessly thru a wet610n.The dvr is connected wirelessly thru a wet610n.I can ping the printer, and I can access the printers web page. The issues appears to be two-way communication. The printer is an HP Officejet 6500a and allows eprint. The printer can no longer contact the eprint server.I have turned off my firewall on my computer and still cannot pring (why would I have to change this anyway, it worked before.)I use a ddns server for software access to my dvr. It worked flawlessly before. Now, the dvr is visible sometimes and sometimes it's not.
My wrt610n is v2 hardware.I called for support, but of course since the warranty has ended, support has ended unless you pay.Nothing like a firmware fix to break your router.I am very disappointed with the upgrade and the support provided.
If by mistake I have attempted to upgrade the firmware my router "WRT610N" via my wireless laptop and after 24 hours the same screen "upgrading router" continues displayed and the router does not respond, How do I fix this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedLooking into a firmware upgrade. I have a WRT160N. The label on the back, next to Model Number, simply says WRT160N with no version number. I therefore conclude, per info on the Cisco site, that it is a V1 model, not V2 or V3. And yet the Admin web page for the router says firmware version is 3.0.02. I'm pretty confident I have never upgraded firmware on this router, which means this is how it came out of the box long ago. Latest firmware for V1 is 1.02.11; latest firmware for V3 is 3.0.03.
Should I upgrade to 3.0.03? Is there a way to downgrade to 1.02.11? I'm having some minor issues whch may or may not be the ruter's fault, I figure a firmware upgrade (downgrade?) will at least rule out router firmware issues.
Is there any firmware update for this product? I'm not hable to find it... Product: WRT54GC Version 2.0 (wwith external anthena)

While it may never have been updated from what the router came with from the factory, it would still be useful to have it available. In my case, I would like to revert the router from the DD-WRT firmware to factory specs.

WEll it definately wasnt in a zip file, and all it did was download a strange file and there was nothing to install or anything. View 1 Replies View Relatedwhat is latest firmware version is for router WRT 160n (v1). The Linksys site currently states that it is Ver.1.02.11 (11/08/10). However, on the admin page for my actual router it states v1.52.0 Nov 16, 2007. These versions #s and dates don't jive. How could I have a supposedly newer version that is older than the most recent one posted?

I did the firmware update on the E4200 router about 2 weeks ago so my son could use his xbox when he got home after 4 months of being away. Everything seemed to work OK as far as I could tell....but when he went to sign into xbox live and watch Netflix, it will load to 98% and stop. A friend of his came over with the new Slim xbox 360 with built in wireless and it will connect fine on its own, if we hook up one of the 610N's to it, it will load to 98% on Netflix and stop again with error code R8152. Both of my older xbox's will hook up and play on xbox live, just not work with Netflix.
I also noticed, it shows the WET610N as a hard wire on xbox and will not search for any wireless networks, I have 2. The newer Slim xbox360 will search out both networks on its own if you allow it to use its internal wireless. This only happened since the firmware update. And this equipment was working fine before this. Is there a way I can restore the previous version of firmware?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA router newbie here. Running XP Pro with Comcast Cable. Want to install a BEFSR41 V2.1 as firewall, and add a second PC later.
Q. Which firmware version is the most up to date?
Q. How do I install the firmware?
Q. Will I need to manually enter any Comcast information?
Q. Is there a step by step installation tutorial?
I have what I believe is an original (V1) version of the BEFSR41 gateway/router. The label underneath the device only shows the model number with no version information. Current firmware version on the device is 1.46.02, dated Aug 03 2004.
Can I confirm (1) that I indeed this router is at hardware version 1? If that is the case it appears from your web site that version 1.46.02 is in fact the current and only firmware version for the device and that there are no firmware version upgrades available.
The DHCP software current does not have IP address reservation, which I am interested in adding if possible via firmware upgrade. If not then I have to consider whether I want this feature bad enough to replace the router.
I own a Linksys BEFSR41 v 3.1. I've been attempting to set up a home network with three computers; my main desktop running Windows 7 Pro x64, a netbook running the same OS and a box running Windows Home Server 2011 x64. The firmware listed for my router was initially 1.05.03.
My router has the issue with resetting its administrative password to the factory default and I've been unable to set up remote access to my LAN and home server. I decided to try updating the router's firmware, but none of the versions listed fit the one I have. The label on my router says v 3.1, but Cisco's site only has a 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, then skips to 4.1, 4.2, etc. The instructions on the site warn not to use a version for a different model, but are vague as to exactly what that refers to, as the model # and the version # aren't clearly delineated.
Anyway, I tried using the latest firmware and received the, "File Pattern," error. Although it didn't seem like anything had changed, I reset the router just to be safe, then tried the v 3.0 firmware update, thinking that the software was intended for all revisions of v3.0. This time it reported updating without a problem, so I reset the router again and went back to the admin page in my browser to check the firmware version listed. To my annoyance, the firmware is now listed as 1.05.00 - i.e. an earlier version than what was shipped on the router.
This means that not only is the issue of the password resetting not fixed, but any other fixes included in the original firmware are now wiped out as well and, needless to say, I still can't set up remote access properly.
How do I restore the firmware version? Neither a reset nor a, "Restore to Factory Defaults," does this. How do I find an actual update for the router? I can't find any mention of a v 3.1 on Cisco's site, let alone support information specific to this model and version.
I cant find the WUSB600n ver.2 drivers on your support page: url...When I click "Version 1.0" it shows me the Win7 driver but by clicking "Version 2.0" it just says: "Guides and Information" but theres no drivers. I suppose it's a bug.I have a new Laptop so I need the Win7 64bit driver for ver.2.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI made the change WAG120G (GREAT) for WAG120N (**bleep**) and I confess that I was somewhat disappointed, the quality of the company fell dramatically. Unlike its predecessor this modem / router is bad in many ways and first of them is support for Macintosh products, the connection drops constantly and have to get on and off the wifi to work. The modem restarts and constantly drops the connection status and its predecessor NEVER did that. iPad, iPhone and Macbook can not even keep me surfing for more than one hour, the connection just stops working. Even the cable connection, my Xbox sometimes worth it to maintain a stable connection in Live. The modem has been updated with the latest firmware version (1.0.0.16).
