Linksys Wireless Router :: Find Previous Versions Of WRT120N Firmware?
Feb 18, 2012
I have a problem with current (1.0.06) firmware on WRT120N. Few hours after restart DHCP server stops assigning IP addresses. Another restart resolves problem, but only for next few hours.Computers and other devices "see" my wireless network and they are able to connect to it, but the process stops at requesting IP number. There was no such effect with original firmware (although there was another problem with 2200BG), so I want to downgrade.where can I find previous versions of WRT120N firmware?
I have an E4200 router with 3 WET610N access points. I did the firmware update on the E4200 router about 2 weeks ago so my son could use his xbox when he got home after 4 months of being away. Everything seemed to work OK as far as I could tell....but when he went to sign into xbox live and watch Netflix, it will load to 98% and stop. A friend of his came over with the new Slim xbox 360 with built in wireless and it will connect fine on its own, if we hook up one of the 610N's to it, it will load to 98% on Netflix and stop again with error code R8152. Both of my older xbox's will hook up and play on xbox live, just not work with Netflix.
I also noticed, it shows the WET610N as a hard wire on xbox and will not search for any wireless networks, I have 2. The newer Slim xbox360 will search out both networks on its own if you allow it to use its internal wireless. This only happened since the firmware update. And this equipment was working fine before this. Is there a way I can restore the previous version of firmware?
how to get the factory firmware version 1.0.01. I have a problem with the settings. I want to return to the basic version, but can not find anywhere else.
Just got a WRT120N and went online to get the most recent firmware and when i performed the upgrade it's gets about 3/4 of the way completed before it just stalls and start screen blinking like it's caught up or something. I using a modem, wrt120n router connection with a Brand New Sony Vaio laptop. I was able to upgrade my old WRT54G V5 router but can't seem to get the new router to update.
Firmware downloaded, FW_WRT120N_1.0.06.001_US after pressing APPLY nothing happens after few minutes it says. "There is an error in the Content-type field. Click the Back button to return to the previous page and re-enter the information."
I can hardwire to my modem and get internet but when I try using the router it can't find it. Everything was fine yesterady with router. What I noticed is when I plug the router in to reset it before plugging any ethernet cables in the port 1&4 lights were blinking like there was activity
IPV4 IP addresses will be running out in less than a year and I wanted to know, will there be a firmware update for WRT120N to support IPV6?
Also, if I have to buy another router to support IPV6, I'm going to buy a D-Link. It's nothing personal, I just find it absolutely idiotic that a router that supports wireless-N doesn't support IPV6. You have to ask your self, how does the standard IPV6 spec thats a few years old not make it to the final product of a router, but a non-standard wireless-N spec implementation somehow got the O.K....?
I have WRT120N, i recently updated the firmware. 1.0.06. only my bad is i done it wireless. so its basically interrupted.I have tried, hard reset and power cycle and reinstall the firmware but still the problem occurs, this time its wired.it happens intermittently. i have tried pressing reset upon turn on and reinstall firmware on the bootloader. it stablized for a while but then disconnects and blinking stikes again.
I have many of these, many models and versions. I have a WRT54G v1, V1.1, V2....V8, I also have WRT54GS's WRT54GL's and others, Lots of other Linksys stuff, almost all of it in the Blue and Black boxes of varing sizes.I have a heck of a time when I reconfigure my network or the wife changes the furniture. I'd love a single document that lists the power specifications and adapter requirements for thens devices... I can't find them any where on the Linksys site. I Have looked and searched and nowhere can I find a consolidate list.
Any have a list of the DC power Specifications, Barrel sizes, and other stuff needed to buy a replacement Power adapter. This page url...lists a lot of information but does not list this critical information... I am amazed that Linksys does not have it listed some where here. Losing a wall wart should not be a reason to pull you hair out, just a simple purchase, If they don't want to stock them, then at least tell us what they are.
I just flashed this router with DD-WRT about a week ago inside the webui that was provided. It all went well but I wanted to go back to the original factory firmware so turned it off for 20 seconds, and held the reset button for 10 seconds to reach the emergency-room. I re-flashed it with the firmware I got from d-links website and all went well. So I tried to go to 192.168.0.1 that did not work so I tried the ip that I gave it before it was flashed and it still remained x.x.x.254. I also turned off dhcp server since my isp's modem provides that and other services. But when I looked into the logs it would keep starting up dhcp server every minute which would lead to all kinds of problems.
Edit: The ip/subnet are set to 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0. It seems to start this as soon as dhcp is disabled.

I've run into this before, but I can't figure it out this time. Running Windows XP SP3 on a Dell Vostro 1510 notebook with a Linksys WRT54G router wireless. Using Dells Network Assistant for management, so I cannot get to Windows wireless connection management directly.I have a connection to the internet with a Security Key. When I bring up a browser (Firefox or IE) I cannot resolve to a web site. There is a Cisco login screen that is forced. It's from a previous wireless connection on a different network at a different location.
How can I find out the firmware versions for IOS, modules and components of Cisco catalyst 4500 series switch. I can see the firmware version of IOS in show version command but how can I find it out for the modules or components of the switch.
I was very happy working with my WRT610N connected to the ethernetport of my previous internet modem. Recently I had to switch to a new modem CISCO EPC3925. Unfortunately this combination does not work anymore. I don't get an internet connection on my WRT610N anymore. I therefore have to connect all computers (LAN and WIFI) to this EPC3925. Especially for the WIFI I'm not fully happy. My IPAD2 sometimes does not want to connect, a problem which never occurred when connecting to WRT610N.
I probably need to change a setting, but where? In the EPC3925 or in WRT610N?
I have one of the network every where routers by Linksys, model NR041. I realize this is an older model but it has been good for me ever since I ought it and I am wanting to find a recent firmware upgrade for this. Is anyone aware of a newer firmware upgrade & if so, where can I find it?
I've been using a WUSB600N wireless adapter with my WRT610N router for quite some time and it has been very stable for quite some time. A few months ago, I switched to a new computer, basically the same model (both computers ran Win7 64bit) except with more hard drive space and two extra cores. I then moved the old computer to the router for a direct connection, moved the new computer in the same exact place as the previous computer, and set up the WUSB600N on the new one. However, on the new computer, my connection has been extremely unstable. Sometimes the connection works fine, but other times there are long periods of no connection (though the computer tells me that I'm connected) and download speeds are horrid during this time period. What is causing the instability after only getting an upgrade to the previous computer?
i went through the website and figured that my firmware is 1.01.05 and there's a new version availble which is 1.01.09 for my Linksys WAG200G modem since im having problem with unstable connection and now, after i updated the firmware, not only that im dropping connection heaps more, my internet connection has slowed down by alot.
I bought a new Linksys WRT120N modem which is working great, but the wireless for some reason isn't working properly. My computer is able to sense the exsistence of the connection tho. I've tried using other computers to connect to it, and still the same problem, can sense but cannot connect.
I currently have a network using ipaddress 10.1.x.x and 10.2.x.x and 10.3.x.x with a subnet of 255.0.0.0 I purchased 2 of the wrt120n wireless routers for testing and find I can not use the subnet of 255.0.0.0.
I have a WRT120N and have been trying to set up priorities using the QoS under the tab Applications and Gaming. Everytime I "Save Settings" it does not save. It refreshes the page and deletes everything I just set up.
I did Live Chat and they told me it was my router. I returned it and got another one... Same problem
I'm using an Static IP adress and i'm using wrt120n router, but to connect the internet i have plugged the internet cable in the 1,2,3,4 (doesn't matter which one) slot. So now i'm just using the wirelss part of the router without "routering" if i can say so. When i put the internet cable in the Internet slot of the router, the laptop just cant connect to internet - it shows Unidentified network without Internet Access. I don't know what type of changes i have to make in the WEB interface of the router. I think i have to set the type of the connection - now is DHCP and may be to put my IP adress, DNS, Subnet mask in the router settings, but don't know how exactly. I've tried to set up the router with the CD-interface but same thing happened - Unidentified network when the cable is plugged in the Internet (yellow) port. How to set up the router to be a router, not just a wireless switch?
My roommate and I recently got a WRT120N to replace an older Linksys router that was exhibiting the same problems with less frequency. Indeed, the entire reason we got the new router was to fix these problems. Alas, they have become worse.Anyways, what's happening is that the router constantly resets itself. It does this every 20 minutes to an hour and doesn't seem to be related to how much traffic it's dealing with. It's not just the internet going down, it's the entire network, and not even just the wireless part. My computer has a wired connection to the router and, and I get told "A network cable has been unplugged" every time it happens. Then, if I look down at the router, I see no flashing lights, just the steady glow of the power light. It always fixes itself after 10-15 seconds, but it's very annoying. Certainly, playing games online or having a conversation on Skype is made more difficult. As previously mentioned, we replaced our older router because it was exhibiting the same behavior, but the new one does it with greater frequency. At the very least, the router does reset itself instead of needing us to cycle the power. The setup was slightly different with the old router: I was using a wireless connection with a WMP54Gv4 which I've had to disable since it bluescreens the moment it so much as sniffs a signal from the WRT120N?
Is there anyway to disable WPS on the WRT120N router?
All I can do is switch the "view" from WPS to manual configuration in the management console...this doesn't actually disable anything.Maybe I don't understand WPS security, but what's the point of using a 20 character WPA2 password if WPS has an 8 digit PIN that I can't change or disable?
I just bought a WRT120N to set up with my new Gateway Windows 7 64-bit using Cablevision cable internet. When I go through the steps from the CD to install, the wizard does not find the connection. When the internet is plugged directly into the computer, it works fine. If I have the router plugged in first and then run the install CD, it picks up the router as an existing router but I can't get it to install
I have a WRT120N router installed in my office. All PC and Laptops are connected to it via WiFi.there are about 3 PC and 4 Laptops. The WiFi keeps going Off now and then..and comes back on in a minitue or so.
