Linksys Wireless Router :: Wrt610n Lost Wifi After Firmware Upgrade
Apr 15, 2013
For some strange reason I was looking at my router and wanted to check and see if there were any firmware upgrades available. I was not having any issues. I noticed that there was an upgrade and one of the notes indicated that it fixed some speed issues. I saved my config before upgrading and reloaded config after upgrading the firmware.Since the upgrade, I have lost connectivity to my printer and have intermittent issues with my remote dvr.The printer is connected wirelessly thru a wet610n.The dvr is connected wirelessly thru a wet610n.I can ping the printer, and I can access the printers web page. The issues appears to be two-way communication. The printer is an HP Officejet 6500a and allows eprint. The printer can no longer contact the eprint server.I have turned off my firewall on my computer and still cannot pring (why would I have to change this anyway, it worked before.)I use a ddns server for software access to my dvr. It worked flawlessly before. Now, the dvr is visible sometimes and sometimes it's not.
My wrt610n is v2 hardware.I called for support, but of course since the warranty has ended, support has ended unless you pay.Nothing like a firmware fix to break your router.I am very disappointed with the upgrade and the support provided.
If by mistake I have attempted to upgrade the firmware my router "WRT610N" via my wireless laptop and after 24 hours the same screen "upgrading router" continues displayed and the router does not respond, How do I fix this?
I tried to upgrade the firmware of my WRT350N but while upgrading my wife switched on the oven and.... yes, power down -> the upgrade has been interrupted. Now the router is no longer responding, it shows just the green power light on (not blinking). I tried all the resets I found googling (pressing the reset button for 30 sec, isconnecting power and reconnecting it again) but no way, there's no way to ping the router at its default address 192.168.1.1. All the leds are switched off (internet, usb, wireless, security) except the green power light. Is there another way to have it back or it is definitely lost?
I updated the fimware on my WRT160N v3 and followed it up with a reset of the router. I then restored the router settings that I had saved. All the settings appeared to be good, but none of my wireless devices would connect. I reneted the pass phrases (WPA2) but still nothing. Tried to change the passphrase, still no good. I then did a factory reset of the router from the setiings page and manually re-entered and save the settings, again nothing. All of my devices are able to "see" the network and the correct SSID.
I have various wireless devices in the house, some of which (smartphone and Windows 7 laptop are working fine, but all of the devices using my WET610N can only see devices in the house, not externally. I also tried updating the WET610N to latest firmware (1.0.04) but still no luck. Has something changes in the WRT610N configuration panels that I need to turn on to allow this?
I have a WRT610N (v2) router and I recently updated the firmware to the most current version 2.00.01 build 15. I can no longer set WPA2 security for both bands (used to work just fine). Every time I try to save settings for WPA2 for the 5 GHz band, it tells me it was successful but then displays that the security mode is disabled (and it shows up on my computers list as not having any security enabled. If not, where can I get a copy of the old firmware that worked?
Noticed this AM that a new firmware was releaesed to my EA6500!! Very surprised to find it Monday AM. I went ahead & updated my firmware but lost connectivity to my Comcast cable modem. I was leaving for work so I had to pull the router & revert back to my original Linksys router.zBig storm heading my way, figured the wifw ywould need internet to track Hurricane Sandy. Any others have a new firmware waiting for install this AM? Keeping my fingers corossed on this firmware upgrade. I'm hoping it solves the device map issue.
I would like to upgrade the firmware for my WRT54GS V2.1 router however, I only see versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, etc.. There is no 2.1 listed, so does this mean I can use the v2.0 firmware?
I just purchased a new E1200 router with firmware version 2.0.01 and downloaded the latest version 2.0.03 and tried to install it through the router. When I choose the downloaded file and try to start upgrade I immediately get an error "The Image File is Incorrect". I redownloaded it and tried again with the same error. how to get past this and upgrade the firmware?
The file uploads fine, but I get an error message saying the router can't be updated atthe moment. I want to do the update because as of now, the router can't see my drive connected on usb (one ntfs partition and another one called wbfs, maybe that one is causing the issue about the drive).
I tried to upgrade my router firmware to the latest 2.1.39.145204 (downloaded from cisco website) but seems like the upgrade didn't go well. I am unable to open the admin webpage. I can get to the login page on 192.168.1.1, after i enter the admin password the next page doesn't load. It keeps showing 'Waiting' at the center of the page forever.. I have tried to do the 30/30/30 reset to no avail, i tried to do tftp downgrade to older firmware version but the tftp boot doesn't even start. Is there any other way i can either fix the current firmware upgrade or downgrade it to the previous version?
I currently have Model name: Linksys E4200 Firmware version: 1.0.04 build 11 Software version: 1.4.12100.0
I'm trying to upgrade to the second and most up to date version. (Version: 2.0) firmware. Any links or way to do this? I tried doing it through my router settings under administration -> firmware upgrade but it won't update automatically. I have to find the actual update file and update the firmware through that.
I have a WRT110 wireless router which disconnects suddenly and continuously. In addition, its performance is really poor. The current firmware installed is 1.0.03. I found a new firmware for this model (1.0.04.10) but when I try to install it, I choose the .bin file downloaded from Linksys TechSupp website, click on the "Start Upgrade" button, but I always get the following message "Please designate the path to the firmware".
I had issues with my router incorrectly resolving URLs. For example, going to facebook.com would gtive me a "wiki does not exist" message. Pinging facebook.com would give me an IP that belongs to wikipedia. The answer was SUPPOSED to be upgrading to v3.0.03.I upgraded and now my router WILL NOT connect to my DSL modem. Oh, it says it's connected and shows the correct IP address for my DSL modem but the gateway is showing 0.0.0.0. Direct connection to my PC works just fine.I have cycled the power on both the router and the DSL modem several times. The DSL modem is working just fine. I have done several IP release/renew on the router. I have reset the router. To no avail. This firmware update (which completed successfully) seems to have killed my routers ability to communitcate with the internet.
PS Linksis Online Support said they do not have old firmware andgives me some phones to call .. Others have written about the same problem, saying that prior toupgrade with new firmware to be flash with 2.0.14.I need firmware - version: 2.0.14, where to find it?
My Linksys WRT54G router has been dropping out lately and I've been recommended to update its firmware as it is very out-of-date. Well, everytime I try to upgrade the firmware to it, I get an error message that says "the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." I'm trying to upgrade the firmware through the router's site 192.168.1.1 under the adminstration tab
I have a wrt54g (8.1) that was acting a little funny so did some googling and followed the instructions to install new firmware. First the installation failed, double checked to make sure I downloaded the correct file (FW_WRT54G_8.1.09.02_US_20071227.bin), did a reset and power cycle. Checked the information again and everything on the router setup completely disappeared.
There is no “firmware” number after the model and I believe this router has never had a firmware upgrade. However, if I try to download any of the 3 upgrades from the Linksys support site I get the message “firmware not available, sorry for the inconvenience.” Since the suggested solutions to so many problems posted in the forum is to first upgrade the firmware, I find this response with no explanation quite annoying. I am having problems replacing my current hardwired Linksys two port router with the WRK54G wireless 4-port router. Questions regarding that problem I will post under a different topic. For now, how I can get the firmware upgrade for the WRK54G?
I have tried to upgrade the firmware to the latest greatest but keep getting the "Incorrect image file" error. I bought two of the V1 units and had no trouble with one of them but the other is frustrating me. I have reset it and even tried a tftp upgrade of the firmware but still get "Incorrect image file" even in tftp.
Having problems losing connectivity so decided to upgrade firmware from v1.00.7 to latest version available.
Downloaded the upgrade file and log into web based administrator. Select file and click on UPGRADE button. A couple of clicks on timeline then: UGRADE FAILED
I have an E3000 with firmware v. 1.0.01 build 6. I am trying to upgrade to the latest firmware version. I downloaded the file, and when I went to install from the web page I got the error message: Not enough memory available. I tried from 2 computers and got the same message.
Firmware downloaded, FW_WRT120N_1.0.06.001_US after pressing APPLY nothing happens after few minutes it says. "There is an error in the Content-type field. Click the Back button to return to the previous page and re-enter the information."
I was prompted by Cisco Connect to upgrade the router software. During this process it came back and said the update failed. At this time the network connection dropped. The power light is now flashing on the device.
I am trying to upgrade the firmware on my Linksys v1 router from 1.0.02 to 1.0.03 over a remote 56Kb circuit. I appear to be having a timeout problem. The upgrade always fails. I have upgraded several E1200s in my office over ethernet, and the upgrade appears to finish when the progress bar is at 15%. However, on my remote upgrade, the progress bar gets to 98%, hangs for a few more seconds, and then pops up a window with "Upgrade failed".
I suspect that there is a timeout on the upgrade process, and that I can't upload the 3.8 MB firmware file fast enough. If so, is there any way to increase the upgrade timeout?
