This mean that so coherent fault lies as follows on Layer 1&2 . The switch port light does not go green either. We have used both xover and straight but no luck
I have LMS3.2 running and have set up daily log rotation of my SYSLOG file via Common Services-Server-Admin-Log Rotation. In LMS2.6 I set this up from the command line and was able to set the number of rotations to 120. I found in LMS3.2 setting up the rotation via the GUI that the number of rotations is limited to 90.

I'm at my girlfriend's house and every laptop in the house works beside hers! I tried mine and it connects flawlessly also my itouch and my eee-pc also connect without any trouble but her laptop is stuck on Identifying i tried the whole netsh reset thing and sadly we cannot have access to her router as her dad hates it when we play in his Linux based stuff anyways any simple fix would be welcome, i hope no one will suggest changing routers/reinstalling the whole OS[CODE]

When trying to connect (wireless or wired), I can't get past the authenticating status. Have used this computer with same router for 3 years. If there was ever a problem, I would unplug/replug the router.I am currently connected through my neighbor's unsecured network.
I'm having problem with DFM under LMS 3.2. For some reason it periodically loses discovered devices and put all of them into "Learining" state. Sometimes restarting daemon manager useful but now it doesn't. I tried rediscovery few times but it doesn't work at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do not have a cross over cable and have to use xmodem. I set the baud rate to 115200 and I can see everything fine. Using Tera Term when you send the file via xmodem it freezes and closes on packet #3 or about 384 bits. When simply clicking the send file button you get the error-

we installed two weeks ago a 867VAE-K9 as a border router for a medical practice.It's got two vlan interfaces for inter-vlan routing, only one Gi interface up in trunk mode to the core switch and the ATM for ADSL2+ connection to the local ISP. A cisco wap is on the secon vlan for the patients. There is a voip pbx on a linux machine that registers 5 trunks to an external provider (only one trunk is used right now, and it works fine).(Almost) everything works fine :-) Sometimes (it can be hours or days) the routing to the internet stops. The meds can still use the LAN accessing everything in it with no lag, and the patients can access the isolated SSID on a Cisco wap on the second vlan. They simply cannot surf the internet.
- DNS and local routing is fine
- the router is reachable through the Gi interface
- they can send and receive traffic to and from the 867 vlans' IPs
- the ATM, dialer 0 and virtual access are up, line protocol up
- the dialer has got the IP address negotiated from the ISP
- default route is negotiated through ipcp
- the controller vdsl 0 is in showtime! state
- from the outside we can ping the PPP peer, but not the IP of dialer 0
The only thing is the queue counter of ATM which shows drops and total output drops. Attenuation is fine, noise margin not so well. The point is that outside traffic to the internet is at low levels and the routing almost always stopped when no one was using the internet (i.e. out of office hours). It already happened 7 times in 16 days. The problem obviously is that voice traffic is impaired by the stuck router, and no med there is able to ssh into the router and re-activate the atm 0 with a shut/no shut.
It is not necessary to reload. A fast shut/no shut of the atm0 (no wait between the commands) will make it running again.We're activating the smarnet for this router to update dsl fw and ios image, but I thought I could post here before that.[code] As a brutal workaround till the update/fix, I was thinking about monitoring the reachability of some external systems and use snmp from the lan to shutdown/no shutdown the atm (though I don't even know if that would be possible from snmp on this router).
I just recently upgraded my 3845 to 15.0.1M9 and everything was going fine until I turned it back on later today. It is now stuck in a loop and wont even allow me to access ROMMON. I took out all additional hardware and it is still stuck at this screen. [code]

Why after a while after discovery of devices (state is "Known") DFM drops the state of devices to "Learning" and it stucks forever. Restarting of daemon manager works for a short time. It looks like the processing of faults stops a while after discovery is complete.
LMS 4.2 is running on Solaris 10, connected to other LMS in DCR Slave configuration.
I've got several 3502i's that refuse to join to the controller, and just get stuck in a cycling blinking colors on the LED. Other AP's off the same port, controller, work fine. Logs are as follows...

I'm trying to "resurect" an old wireless network made with Cisco Aironet 1100. One of the AP has lost its IOS (due to an error while trying to upgrade it through the web interface)
I tried to reload it with the "mode button". I can see in my TFTP server logs that the AP is downloading the IOS but nothing happens and the AP keep being stuck (leds are : red/green/red)

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe Setup On my home network, I am running Windows Server 2003 as domain controller and file server with a SCSi attached disk array.I have several client PC's. 2 running Windows XP service pack 3, 1 laptop running Windows 7 Service pack 1 and a desktop also running Windows 7 Service Pack 1.These are connected by 2 switches - 1 x Netgear gigabit switch, and a Linksys PSUS4 USB Print server at 100mbps.The PC I use the most is the desktop running Win7 and transfer files to the server.After transferring some large files from the clients to the server, I noticed that the speed was considerably slower than what I was expecting it to be. After investigating, and eliminating elements of the network, I discovered that the Server NIC was running at 10mbps. I tried the usual things like forcing the NIC to run at 100mbps Full Duplex but this had no effect. Strangely, if I reboot the server while the desktop is still switched on the connection goes back to 100mbps. However if I reboot the desktop, or even alter the network settings, it immediatley reverts back to 10mbps.

It seems to accept new password but never does connect, and when I retry, there's the old password back again, which I don't remember and was for the other modem. However, when restoring, sometimes the process gets stuck somewhere (the client reboots prematurely if that happens) and more than often the clients can't boot into Windows anymore.All clients have the exact same hardware.Now I know the image can't be the problem, as I've restored this exact image to a client two days ago and it booted perfectly fine. My work wireless network is stuck on identifying. It works for ALL other computers in the office. It works when I am wired to the router. I've tried most things that forums tell me to do. Below is the IP config. It is only this network and one other. Both are provided by verizon if that makes any difference.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just dumped my dsl for cable and when I ran ethernet straight into the modem from my laptop I was pulling 30mbit to speedtests, but when I go wired or wireless through my router, it's capping at around 16mbit. Any decent priced wireless routers that will get me closer to 30mbit? My laptop has 802.11n and I saw someone locally selling a WRT160n but I don't know if that would do it either. Is the cpu speed of the router the limiting factor? The 54gs is 216mhz cpu, depending on the revision the 160n can be 300mhz.
