I'm trying to "resurect" an old wireless network made with Cisco Aironet 1100. One of the AP has lost its IOS (due to an error while trying to upgrade it through the web interface)
I tried to reload it with the "mode button". I can see in my TFTP server logs that the AP is downloading the IOS but nothing happens and the AP keep being stuck (leds are : red/green/red)
I deleted the ios image form the aironet device from command line when i was trying to updgrade it.Now the aironet 1100 keeps rebooting.I've tried to hold down the mode for 30 seconds goes red, but keeps rebooting.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an 1100 series AP and it seems to be configured properly, but every few minutes or so the connection will drop and then come back up again. It is happening on two different laptops. Both using Windows XP. 1 is using a Dell True Mobile wireless card and the other is using a Cisco 350 series wireless card. I am using 128 bit encryption and the signal strength says excellent on both laptops.

So the main goal is to have two SSID one for the guests and one for the colleagues and to limit for example half the bandwidth of internet link per SSID so we dont get into situation that colleagues overload whole internet link so that guests can always surf without problem.

My first try is to get these values using snmp, but so far had no luck finding the right MIB. I don't think the console might be useful, will it ?
I know I'm assuming alot, that the Aironet enables for a 'iwlist' dump, and that these values can be retrieved through snmp. But seems something reasonable for them to have, even if I haven't found it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco Aironet 1100 series access point (AP1120B) that after resetting to factory defaults the default username and password (Cisco and Cisco) aren't working in the web GUI. I am able to telnet to the AP's IP and log in with Cisco and Cisco but don't know the ENABLE password. I have tried Cisco and cisco and everything else i could think of with no luck.
I also have a Cisco Aironet AP1242AG that is doing the same thing.
We have 5 Cisco Aironet 1100 wireless access points and we are having huge problems in the last few days with them disconnecting some mobile barcode scanners that we have.
We have two Aironet's in the top of the factory which work fine and 3 down the bottom which keep kicking the barcode scanners off. If we use the barcode scanners at the top of the factory they work fine, as soon as we come down to the other 3 WAPs it they keep connecting and disconnecting.
We get the following error in the Event log on the access points.Disassociated because sending station is leaving (or has left) BSS On the barcode scanners. [code]

The IOS that are present in my access points are 12.3(8)AJ and 12.3(11)JX.
in my company we have 40 cisco aironet 1100 without controller, the signal is good with laptops but is too weak with the iphone's ipads and blackberry.

What I am looking for is either a cross-reference table or a lookup program where one of the MAC addresses would be entered and the other would then be displayed. I had to disable dhcp on them because they are on a wired subnet where I am using the static IPs and don't want my wired clients to get DHCP addresses, nor someone to be able to plug the wire into own laptop and get on the network. It's been working fine with one exception - I need to be able to ping my access points from the central site, and I can't. What IOS command would enable ICMP echo on my access points in this case?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys 10/100/1000 Gigabit NIC (m/n EG1032), which I've tried installing in my Dimension 1100/B110 without success. I followed the installation instructions from Linksys (i.e., open case and add card to motherboard, then start PC, at which point WINXP Pro should identify the new hardware and I would then select the driver from the disk. However, the "Found New Hardware" never came up. The Dimension 1100/B110 comes with an Intel Pro 100 NIC onboard. I next tried to disable the onboard NIC through the Hardware Manager, and use the Add Hardware feature in the Control Panel, but it didn't find the new NIC on the first go round. So, I installed the driver utilizing the "Have Disk" option. The Linksys NIC was installed, but stated that it might not work properly, and a look at the Hardware Manager confirmed that there was a problem (a yellow exclaimation point next the the new device and a Code/Error 10 in the Details section). The yellow light on the new NIC did flash when the ethernet cable was plugged in, but it didn't connect to the network. The Windows Troubleshooter recommended removing and restarting the PC, but the new NIC still was not found when Windows booted up. I next restarted the PC, went into the Bios and disabled the network interface. The PC took forever to restart into Windows, and still the new hardware was not recognized. I'm wondering whether there is a pin on the motherboard that I need to short, in order to be able to install a new NIC, or if there's some changes I need to make in the Windows software someplace. I've restored the Bios setting and have enabled the onboard NIC in the interim, so as to be able to access the internet and my network printer.

Whenever I attempt to download a steam game for example, it will start downloading and after 5-10 seconds the internet will drop out. The wireless connection is still maintained, but the internet is not available. It is fixed by cycling the router, however this is very painful as to download 100 mb of data, it may take 20-50 cycles.

They are connected wireless (distance is about 10 mt, signal is good).PS3 ip is in DMZ (connection doesn't work with only Upnp), and ip fragmentation is enabled.Everything seems to work (NAT type 2), but downloading on PS3 is extremely slow. My ADSL is a 6Mb, download speed on PS3 seems like more than ten times lower (I don't know how to test it..). Plus, downloading a 100 MB patch is almost impossile, cause sooner or later I get an error and i have to restart.Two of my PCs are connected wireless, so I guess wi-fi is not the problem.

View 12 Replies View RelatedOn the WLC I've set DHCP address pool, everything seems fine after ap download image -> reboot -> hit "Enter" to start blar blar blar... however, after a few second the WLC will initial upgrade image again and again. it's like a non-stop process.
Attached is the start up message, as you can see, i captured it after the ap successfully boot up, and WLC initial another cycle of image upgrade.
btw, my network is flat, WLC & AP all in the same network.

my new dlink router 655 was working great when I hooked it up to my desktop computer that was running vista windows and my hp notebook that runs windows 7 ultimate was working just fine too, but when I downloaded windows 7 ultimate to my desktop I lost my internet connection. after resetting it I got it back and I thought everything was fine, but now I have to reset it every few hours.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having a few problems with my IBM T42 Laptop for a while now. I was originally running Windows XP on this system and about 12 months ago I installed Ubuntu 9 on it to mess around a bit with the OS and have a basic, non-Microsoft laptop in the house that I could use for browing the web and IM, etc... The laptop needed a clean install anway as Windows XP was running like a dog. Originally it was dual boot but once I got happy with Ubuntu I did a clean install and everything worked reasonably well. I had a few issues with the wireless LAN adapter and compatibilty, but sorted it out following a few forums (firware updates, driver updates) and everything was great. I upgraded to the Ubuntu 10.04 OS and then started having some issues. Essentially my browser would freeze randomly. Again, I visted the forums and had no joy in sorting out the problem. I reverted the OS back to Ubuntu 9 and the problem persisted. So I gave up on it totally around 6 months ago.
Last week I fired up the laptop again and decided I would use the IBM restore utility and the disks I created a couple of years ago to put on a clean install of Windows XP and see how things went. So far I have done all the Windows XP updates (SP3, etc...), I have been to the Lenovo website and updated all drivers, firmware, BIOS, etc... every little problem I have had has been sorted with a software or firmware update which I have successfully implemented. All niggles have been sorted bar one.The only problem I have left now is very odd. Everything works fine and at reasonable speed considering the age and specs of my system. When I connect via cable to my router/modem all network and internet services work fine. I have had no issues. But when I connect via wireless, intermittently my system will completely freeze - no errors, no logs - nothing. No sounds, just frozen screen. Hard reboot is the only thing that I can do to get back online.Further investigating the issue - the freezing occurs when I click on a link to download something. I can browse anything - I have tried videos (youtube) and have no problems at all - but if I click to download a file (software upgrade pack, pdf document, Qucktime player) the system freezes up and ONLY when connected wirelessly via the inbuilt Cisco Wireless LAN adapter. My problem is that whenever I leave a torrent downloading for a few hours (using a wireless connection), my internet connection drops, both wired and wireless. I have to power cycle the modem and router to get things working again. When I plug my computer in with an ethernet cord and leave a torrent downloading, the connection doesn't drop.

I have tried searching the internet and my computer to see if I could fix myself, as I'm sure there's probably just some settings somewhere that have been altered - but I'm completely bamboozled!! I am getting 50% downloading speed when I connect through wireless router (Tp-link wr740N) but the browsing speed is ok and speedtest,net also giving good result only download speed is slow. When I connect directly from modem, I get 100% speed but when I connect wirelessly through router I get 50% downloading speed.

It seems to accept new password but never does connect, and when I retry, there's the old password back again, which I don't remember and was for the other modem. Have tried deleting the Realtec Wireless Adapter and reinstalling but the old password still returns? Tried renaming Wireless Network but old password still returns? Tried accessing Registry with no luck. Only way the Laptop can access is to leave Wireless Network Open/Unsecured, but that's not an option.

I've tried most things that forums tell me to do. Below is the IP config. It is only this network and one other. Both are provided by verizon if that makes any difference.

For some strange reason my wireless card can only connect to the router if I do not use any security or if I use wep-open. If I try to use a wpa-psk it will not connectIn the past I was able to use wpa with no problem. I am also able to view other wireless routers around me and can see the different securities they use, but if I change my router to wpa then my wireless adapter can and will not notice the change and I can not connect to my wireless router which is same brand
