Cisco Wireless :: RV120W Downloading On PS3 Is Extremely Slow
Dec 29, 2012
I've some troubles connecting my PS3 to my RV120W.Both router and PS3 have latest firmwares. They are connected wireless (distance is about 10 mt, signal is good).PS3 ip is in DMZ (connection doesn't work with only Upnp), and ip fragmentation is enabled.Everything seems to work (NAT type 2), but downloading on PS3 is extremely slow. My ADSL is a 6Mb, download speed on PS3 seems like more than ten times lower (I don't know how to test it..). Plus, downloading a 100 MB patch is almost impossile, cause sooner or later I get an error and i have to restart. Two of my PCs are connected wireless, so I guess wi-fi is not the problem.

I just had comcast internet installed, and am using a linksys wireless router (WRT160N). When I connect my netbook to the network it gets 0.7mbps on speedtest.net, when I use my girlfriends laptop it gets 16+mbps. I have tried everything, I am at my whits end. I have updated my firmware, updated windows to the the limit and reset the settings on my router. If I connect my netbook directly to the router I get 20+ but wireless is 0.7 and upload speed stays the same. I am using an HP Mini 210-2000 with windows 7 starter, I have updated it to service pack 1 and have all the windows based drivers installed. I have not tested it on another wireless network to see if it gets the same terrible connection. I don't know if its something with my computer, windows 7 starter, or the way my computer talks to the router

So recently my wireless speed on my desktop had dropped considerably. I have a 3Mb/s connection, but I am getting speeds ranging from 0.2-0.5Mb/s in speed tests(Actual Mega bits, not Bytes). Last week I set a static IP so that I could do some port forwarding. I don't exactly remember what day I did the static IP, and what day it started going slow, but this is my prime suspect. All of the other computers on the network are running at full steam. I even changed the settings on my wireless adapter back to obtain IP/DNS automatically, but the problem still persists.
I am using a TP-Link wireless USB adapter with up-to-date drivers. [URL]. I already had the ports forwarded in my router. I reformatted my PC a few weeks back and finally got around to setting the static IP again. The forwards were saved already in the router, I just set the IP to the one I had used before.

I have an Asus RT_N12 that works great(12-20mbps) hardwired. It also has a "excellent" connection when connected wirelessly but slows down to 50Kbps.I have restarted/started, reset(all multiple times). I contacted ASUS customer support they told me bad router or firmware update. I updated firmware same thing took the router back and exchanged router. Same problem. I then went into router settings and changed from "Auto" to channel,1,2,3,4,etc. No luck. My buddy that is a "Tech expert" says that since I live in high density(12 unit) apt building someone has something interfering. My only problem with that is I used to live in a 48 unit building with wi fi supplied by the building and never had this problem.

Having a bit of a quandry. I have one laptop, a Toshiba Satellite L500-2H, that seems to get ridiculously slow wireless speeds sometimes. Like, slow to the point of not even being able to load webpages. Or taking way too long to do so. Either it cripples along or can't load outright.sometimes the Toshiba will do exactly what it's supposed to and pull 20 megabits/s on speedtest.net, which is what the others do.

i just replaced my malfunctioning E4200 with the new EA6500 and the speeds are almost like dail-up. I haven't changed ANYTHING in regards to the setup, so I don't see what I could possibly be doing wrong. I even went as far as hooking up the old E4200 to my laptop while having the EA6500 hooked up to my desktop so that I could cross-reference the router settings. They were exactly the same.

Region : Others
Model : TL-WR841ND
Hardware Version : V8
Firmware Version : wr841nv8_en_3_13_27_up_boot(121101)
ISP :
I followed TP-Link's guide to set up a WDS connection between my two brand new WR841ND router. It theoreticaly "works", but the network is extremly slow. Copying a ~100 Mb sized file to another computer on the other side takes more than 10 minutes or more, I don't know exactly, because I shut down the process after 10 min. I pinged the "slave" router with 200 packets, and I realized that every third, fourth and fifth packet has more than 500 ms time. The minimum is 4 ms, the longest was 566 ms.
Router A (Master)
Connects to the internet/ADSL
DHCP enabled
[Code].....
I bought the two router from the same dealer, at the same time. Both have the same firmware. I checked all the chanels, and 5 is the only free one, but the situation is the same on every chanel.
What can couse this very slow transfer speed?

I purchased a Dell Studio 1737 about 2 years ago, and have not had any problems with my wireless service until about a week ago. Now my wireless connects, but is extremely slow. I am using a Dell wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card. I ran a hardware diagnostic and nothing is wrong with the hardware. I also ran a connection diagnostic, and it continually fails when it gets to either Gateway IP, or Internet IP. The driver is fully upgraded, and I have ran Malwarebytes and have not found any malware problems. how to get my wireless working properly again.

Recently I bought a ASUS G Series G53SW-XN1 to replace my old laptop and it uses a Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless network adapter to connect to my network. On my older laptop I can get the full download speeds on my network of 500-600 kbs, but on my asus I can only acheive between 70-120 kbs. There should be little to no interference between me and my router and it sits only about 15 ft behind me.
My router is an old linksys wireless router which only transmits a B signal. I know wireless B is considered slow but it works perfectly fine for what I use it for and it works on my other laptop.

I just purchased an E-3000 and when I log into the user interface it seems changing pages and saving settings takes forever. I click on a section in the router menu and it takes what seems like 30 seconds for the page to change or accept the new settings. It's not my browser it's definitely a Linksys Router issue. I updated to the latest firmware and latest Cisco Connect software as well. Is this slow user interface a normal thing with these routers?

All I want is functional Wi-Fi in my house like the rest of the world. Unfortunately, I cannot have that for whatever reason.
Now that I said that, Let's me get down to explaining my issue. I orginally owned a Linksys WRT350n. This router worked fine for years, untill one day I decided to do a speed test on my new Motrola Atrix. My Wired computer gets ~22000kbps down and 4000kbps up... My wireless speedtest on my Atrix yielded 2000kbps down and 4000kbps up. I assumed it was the phone, so i went and tried every other wireless device in my house. Everyone of them got the same result.. 2000kbps down.. 4000kbps up.
At this point I went into my router settings and tried every available channel, all of them yielded the same result of 2000kbps down and 4000kbps up.. At this point, I assumed it was the router. Ive had it for a few years and figured it was just reaching EOL. I rushed to my nearest bestbuy to pick up a brand new Linksys E4200. I brought it home, hooked it up and was eager to test my new wireless speeds. Unfortunately the same results of 2000kbps down and 4000kbps up was the yield. Once again, I've tried every possible channel with no change to my speeds. At this point I called up Linksys/Cisco support.. They were POSITIVE it was a hardware issue and had me exchange the router, even though I informed them i had the same issue with my older router of a different model. I went along with it anyway, and exchanged my router. Same issue. I called Cisco/Linksys back up and informed them, and basically they told me "they'd make a note of the issue and call me back at a later date."
I downloaded a WiFi Analyzer on my cell phone. Theres only two other dectable networks in my area, and they are low low low signal. So, I don't believe it's heavy saturation. The router is in the same room as 3 of the wireless devices that get 2000kbps down/4000kbps up. So it's not range either.

I bought my laptop over a year ago. The wireless is really slow. I read other posts about this issue and found out that the network adapter(n1030) on this laptop is faulty or something. So I tried connecting to the internet using the Ethernet port.
The port shows up on my device manager.Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller.I know there is nothing wrong with the modem or the Ethernet cable because internet on the other computers in my house work fine.
I would also like to add that when I bought the computer, it came with windows 7 but had the ubuntu sticker on it. People in Fiji only mostly use windows so I guess the shop I bought this from did the change to windows themselves.

I've set up PPPoE on my EA4500 router with a Vigor 120 modem in bridged mode and it says an internet connection is established, but the connection is extremely slow on all my devices. When I run the speed test within the EA4500 firmware it appears fine, but I cannot load any web pages on my laptop or other decives because the connection is so slow. The connection is slow with both wired and wireless connections. I've tried changing the MTU settings with no success. I've also tried using a different router and connecting the modem directly to my laptop and using PPPoE within the laptop and these both work fine, so I think it's clear there is a problem with the EA4500 router itself.
I'm just using the Vigor 120 to authenticate and connect to the internet itself, with the router in DHCP automatic configuration mode. I think this is causing a double NAT.

For the last 4 years I’ve been using the Linksys Router, model WRT150N V. 1.1 and never had any problems—until now.Yesterday I noticed that my wireless devices (i.e., two computers, tablet and Internet radio) either don’t work at all (the Internet radio) or the pages load extremely slowly—for example, the tablet has become, for all intents and purposes, unusable. Since my ‘main’ computer is connected directly to my cable internet, I know that there is nothing wrong with the Internet connection itself, only with wireless connection.I disconnected the Linksys Router for 2 minutes and reconnected it, but to no avail. I know that I have not made any changes to any software/hardware that might affect the speed.Since I also happen to have access to another wireless Internet connection (a different provider), I connected to that network and all my wireless devices were working perfectly. Therefore, I think the problem must be with the router. I am using Windows XP (on the main computer, where the router and Internet cable are attached).

I currently have a Linksys E1200 router and I am getting anywhere from .3-.5 of a megabit per second download speed while upload speed ranges from 2-5 Mbps. This is very strange to me as I have never seen a connection this slow or one that had a higher upload speed than download speed.

I am having a problem with my newly purchased Linksys E1000 router, I am having terribly slow network speeds while on that network.
Here are my network speeds with The e1000: (wireless) And here are the speeds with my old wrt54g: (Wireless) Here are the results directly hooked up to the modem: (wired)
I've tried setting the MTU to 1500, did a RMA with Linksys to see if it was a hardware problem, did a firmware update to the e1000, disabled DHCP and SPI, reseted my router and my modem....none of those things have worked
My ISP is comcast and I have a Arris TM502G modem

For the past week my internet has been extremely slow, I can watch a South Park episode online and it'll take me at least one hour before I can watch the entire thing because it keeps buffering every 20 seconds. I can barely browse MMO-Champion because it takes one minute to load. Every site takes forever to load. And it's just on my stationary computer. My laptop and mobile phone works just fine. It feels like I've tried everything:
* I've cleaned cache and cookies and stuff like that with CCleaner.
* I've used my console and done all that ipconfig stuff with /flushdns etc etc
* I've used my console and done all that netsh stuff as well
* I've tried to reset my router
* I've tried to use that Microsoft Fix-It program to do whatever it does.
* I've looked through my computer with my anti-virus and anti-malware
* I've installed the latest drivers for my network card/adapter
* I've fixed options on the computer that would allow my computer to perform better
* I've purchased another wireless adapter just to see if that was the problem
* And finally, yes, I've tried restarting the computer

I've recently had Centurylink's Prism service installed and at the same time my internet connection upgraded to 10Mb. When they installed the new service, my modem was replaced with a Cisco DDR 2200-CL modem and router in one. On Monday of this week my internet speeds had dropped. I check my speeds on speedtest.net several times and it was under 1Mb each time. After an hour I called and scheduled a technician to come and check it out. He came the next day, but my speeds were back to almost 10Mb again, and he couldn't find any problems.

I set up the e1500 and everything worked well, my download speed over the wifi was something like 50mps, now its down to .3 mps over the wifi. When I'm hardwired to the router the speed goes back up and everything is fine. The only problem is the wifi. Its not the ISP because my roommates aren't having a problem with their wifi at all. I haven't changed anything on my computer except updated some drivers since I set up the router. My network card drivers are up to date and so is the router's drivers. I'm also doing all this about 5 feet away from the router.
I have a Dell XPS L502x running win 7 64 bit.

On certain downloads, Wifi speed seems to be throttled to about 100kB/s. I see this mostly on two BlackBerry Z10s, but also just saw it on my Wifi-connected PC when trying to download the latest DIR-655 firmware. The Z10s are screaming fast on Wifi at my work. They also do fine on YouTube and any other high bandwidth applications (I just tried Speedtest and got 11Mb/s). I think I can say that the slow speed is only when I'm downloading apps or updates on the phones.
I just updated my DIR-655 to the latest FW and have spent an hour flicking settings trying to find something that makes a difference. No luck. As it stands now, I'm downloading the latest OS upgrade to BB10 (345MB) at 100kB/s.

I have a Cisco ASA 5510. I am trying to copy large files between DMZ and INSIDE network and it is copying at awfully a slow speed. I thought it might have been related to duplex mismatch but it doesn't seem to be. DMZ interface is set at 100 full duplex. I programmed the port on the managed switch where the DMZ uplink is connected to be 100 full duplex. I even hard set the NIC on server to be 100 full. Nothing worked. So, I come to a conclusion it isn't the duplex mismatch but there gotta be something else on Cisco ASA. I was googling for this issue and came across it could be a QoS policy. Now, checking my ASA I see a any to any global service_policy where it is defined to inspect certain protocols where 'netbios' is one of them (among others such as 'ftp', 'tftp', etc. Could the slow copying be related to the above policy? Could there be a bandwidth limitation between DMZ and INSIDE interface? How do I check?

We have an ASA 5510 and are experiencing unbelievably slow speeds. I noticed a problem last Thursday with users complaining of slow speeds and realized our interface had a ton of errors and was running at half duplex. I contacted the ISP (we are connected to their 3750) and they swore up and down they were set to full. So they had me switch to full and the interface shut down. I asked them to switch to auto and the interface came back up and we went to full, and of course the errors and colisions stopped. However the errors and packet drops have not stopped. The ISP sent out a technician and they determined it wasn't a problem on their end by plugging in a laptop and testing the speed--that worked fine. Eventually I plugged in a Sonicwall and bypassed the ASA completely and that worked fine. We plugged the ASA back in and we we went back to dropping packets. I put an old config on the ASA and oddly enough it seemed to have fixed the problem but we were still dropping packets. So I put the most recent config back on and that worked fine up until today. We're back in the some boat we were last week. So my first question is when I do a show int and see packets dropped - is that normal because of ACLs etc, or would that be show in another place? Here's an output of show int and show asp drop:
HQ-ASA# show asp drop
Frame drop: Flow is denied by configured rule (acl-drop) 3366 NAT-T keepalive message (natt-keepalive) 423 First TCP packet not SYN (tcp-not-syn) 406 TCP failed 3 way handshake (tcp-3whs-failed) 135 TCP RST/FIN out of order (tcp-rstfin-ooo) 462 TCP SYNACK on established conn (tcp-synack-ooo) 46 TCP packet SEQ past window (tcp-seq-past-win) 50 TCP invalid ACK (tcp-invalid-ack) 9 TCP Out-of-Order packet buffer full (tcp-buffer-full) 29 TCP Out-of-Order packet buffer timeout (tcp-buffer-

I have not made any configuration changes to the ASA ina couple of months. The interface counters were cleared about 45 minutes ago if that's how quickly the errors/packet drops are adding up.

I've recently upgraded the configuration on one of our 1130 series standalone access points. I've implemented RADIUS authentication, WPA2 encryption etc. in an effort to make our network more secure. While this part seems to be working as planned, our data transfer speeds have taken a major hit. On our test AP, with only one laptop connected, the laptop will report a connection at 54 Mbits. When using any speed test service the speed reported is approximately 15 Mbits. We have 100 Mbit internet, and desktops connected to ethernet show much higher speeds. When transferring files via our own LAN, data transfer rates average approximately 2 Mbytes/second. I've tested this on 3 separate laptops, some relatively new, and it seems they all get the same speeds.
Long story short, our wireless seems to be operating under a third of its reported speed.
