I have an 1100 series AP and it seems to be configured properly, but every few minutes or so the connection will drop and then come back up again. It is happening on two different laptops. Both using Windows XP. 1 is using a Dell True Mobile wireless card and the other is using a Cisco 350 series wireless card. I am using 128 bit encryption and the signal strength says excellent on both laptops.

The IOS that are present in my access points are 12.3(8)AJ and 12.3(11)JX.
Is there a way to start with a LAN MAC address for a Cisco 1100 Series AP and look up the corresponding wireless MAC address and vice-versa? What I am looking for is either a cross-reference table or a lookup program where one of the MAC addresses would be entered and the other would then be displayed. The two MAC addresses for the 1100 series AP's are completely unique, they are not simply one digit apart.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem where only the 2950's switches go transperant. They drop VLAN1 thus no CDP snmp packets. The users keep working fine but our NMS center keeps calling me at 3am when this happens.
These are access switches that connect to stacked 3750's. Some of the uplinks are using media converters that i have been trying to get removed. But i doubt that it could be the cause of the vlan1 going down.
I recently bought an alienware mx14 laptop last week and i am having some strange issues with the Ethernet card.The connection seems to drop from time to time at random periods, altough wireless works fine, the wired connection just loses connectivity for brief moment. The only way i notice this if, i am streaming something and it just stops the buffer or if am at the lobby of League of Legends and get timed out or, any http transfer gets cut out.I have an atheros card and w7 64bits installed with the latest drivers from Dell and have uninstalled and reinstalled them a couple of times, and they seem to work for a couple of hours , after a while getting back to the some problem.

The router is set with dynamic IP , I've turned off short GI , it is broadcasting 802.11 N , I've tried changing the channels (currently on ch ,I have 2 wireless phones in the house but they are 20 or more feet from the router it self and also turned off always broadcast DHCP.

I tried to reload it with the "mode button". I can see in my TFTP server logs that the AP is downloading the IOS but nothing happens and the AP keep being stuck (leds are : red/green/red)
I have to configure DHCP on Aironet 1100 WAP so wireless client will get IP address through WAP. I tried all the option mentioned in Document but nothing is working.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco Aironet 1100 series access point (AP1120B) that after resetting to factory defaults the default username and password (Cisco and Cisco) aren't working in the web GUI. I am able to telnet to the AP's IP and log in with Cisco and Cisco but don't know the ENABLE password. I have tried Cisco and cisco and everything else i could think of with no luck.
I also have a Cisco Aironet AP1242AG that is doing the same thing.
We have 5 Cisco Aironet 1100 wireless access points and we are having huge problems in the last few days with them disconnecting some mobile barcode scanners that we have.
We have two Aironet's in the top of the factory which work fine and 3 down the bottom which keep kicking the barcode scanners off. If we use the barcode scanners at the top of the factory they work fine, as soon as we come down to the other 3 WAPs it they keep connecting and disconnecting.
We get the following error in the Event log on the access points.Disassociated because sending station is leaving (or has left) BSS On the barcode scanners. [code]

I had to disable dhcp on them because they are on a wired subnet where I am using the static IPs and don't want my wired clients to get DHCP addresses, nor someone to be able to plug the wire into own laptop and get on the network. It's been working fine with one exception - I need to be able to ping my access points from the central site, and I can't. What IOS command would enable ICMP echo on my access points in this case?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys 10/100/1000 Gigabit NIC (m/n EG1032), which I've tried installing in my Dimension 1100/B110 without success. I followed the installation instructions from Linksys (i.e., open case and add card to motherboard, then start PC, at which point WINXP Pro should identify the new hardware and I would then select the driver from the disk. However, the "Found New Hardware" never came up. The Dimension 1100/B110 comes with an Intel Pro 100 NIC onboard. I next tried to disable the onboard NIC through the Hardware Manager, and use the Add Hardware feature in the Control Panel, but it didn't find the new NIC on the first go round. So, I installed the driver utilizing the "Have Disk" option. The Linksys NIC was installed, but stated that it might not work properly, and a look at the Hardware Manager confirmed that there was a problem (a yellow exclaimation point next the the new device and a Code/Error 10 in the Details section). The yellow light on the new NIC did flash when the ethernet cable was plugged in, but it didn't connect to the network. The Windows Troubleshooter recommended removing and restarting the PC, but the new NIC still was not found when Windows booted up. I next restarted the PC, went into the Bios and disabled the network interface. The PC took forever to restart into Windows, and still the new hardware was not recognized. I'm wondering whether there is a pin on the motherboard that I need to short, in order to be able to install a new NIC, or if there's some changes I need to make in the Windows software someplace. I've restored the Bios setting and have enabled the onboard NIC in the interim, so as to be able to access the internet and my network printer.

Oh, and are the ports still only 100M and not Gig?I know the 547 would tick both these boxes but we are talking twice the price. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have not done much with business routers, but we have a 1700 series with a WAN WIC-1ENET card with a RJ45 connection. We had a T1 line and will be moving to ehternet. We are going to be moving to a 20MB line, and i just wanted to make sure I have the right connections before installing. We also have a T1 line in another loaton and would be moving to this same 2811 router there as well.We would also like to copy over the configuration from 1700 series router to the 2811 router. Would it be easier to do it by hyper-terminal? Also if we keep the 1700 routers are they capable of using layer-3?
