Cisco Wireless :: Aironet 1100 Default Username And Password Not Working?
Aug 17, 2011
I have a Cisco Aironet 1100 series access point (AP1120B) that after resetting to factory defaults the default username and password (Cisco and Cisco) aren't working in the web GUI. I am able to telnet to the AP's IP and log in with Cisco and Cisco but don't know the ENABLE password. I have tried Cisco and cisco and everything else i could think of with no luck.
I also have a Cisco Aironet AP1242AG that is doing the same thing.
I am resetting my Aironet 1231-G access points and cannot access the default username and password. Here is the information I am getting on the Console. I reset getting the amber light. Attempt to use Cisco as the Username and Password. It replies that authentication fails with the below log information.

i forgot to change the default username and password of 1941 router. I have alos performed WR memory on router. When i am trying to recover it through ROMMON mode i am not getting the initial configuration Dialouge through which i can change the password . I have gone through all documents available through internet for recovering the same but unable to recover it.
I deleted the ios image form the aironet device from command line when i was trying to updgrade it.Now the aironet 1100 keeps rebooting.I've tried to hold down the mode for 30 seconds goes red, but keeps rebooting.
I have to configure DHCP on Aironet 1100 WAP so wireless client will get IP address through WAP. I tried all the option mentioned in Document but nothing is working.
I have very little practical knowledge of routers, switches and AP's. I recently got a very old Cisco Aironet 1100 series AP which was working fine in one network. I reset it and tried configuring it in new network (uses DHCP to assign public IP) for school use. But not able to access internet.
I'm doing a project on trilateration in which is required to list the BSSID and power levels from the APs, since we have alot of Cisco Aironet 1100 deploye here, could this be a choice ?
My first try is to get these values using snmp, but so far had no luck finding the right MIB. I don't think the console might be useful, will it ?
I know I'm assuming alot, that the Aironet enables for a 'iwlist' dump, and that these values can be retrieved through snmp. But seems something reasonable for them to have, even if I haven't found it.
I'm attempting to update the software on three aironet 1100 from System Software Filename:c1100-k9w7-tar.122-13.JA2 System Software Version:12.2(13)JA2 Bootloader Version:12.2(8)JA To the latest release or the 12.3x family and it fails."the software upgrade was interrupted and was not able to be completed" I also disabled the Radio braodcast?
We have 5 Cisco Aironet 1100 wireless access points and we are having huge problems in the last few days with them disconnecting some mobile barcode scanners that we have.
We have two Aironet's in the top of the factory which work fine and 3 down the bottom which keep kicking the barcode scanners off. If we use the barcode scanners at the top of the factory they work fine, as soon as we come down to the other 3 WAPs it they keep connecting and disconnecting.
We get the following error in the Event log on the access points.Disassociated because sending station is leaving (or has left) BSS On the barcode scanners. [code]
I have some Cisco Aironet 1100-series, 1040 series, 1240 series, 1130 series and 1200series and i would like to upgrade them to the newest ios software.
The IOS that are present in my access points are 12.3(8)AJ and 12.3(11)JX.
in my company we have 40 cisco aironet 1100 without controller, the signal is good with laptops but is too weak with the iphone's ipads and blackberry.
I have a weird issue. I recently setup an ASA 5510 and had SSH working. To make it easier on my VPN users I then decided I wanted to setup a Windows 2008 Network Policy Server for RADIUS authentication. Ever since I added the RADIUS part to aaa authentication, when I use SSH to connect to the ASA it will not take the local user name and password I have setup. I can however get in using a Domain user name and password. Below is the SSH and AAA configuration. Am I missing something here? The username and password in the ASA is not on the domain and it's like the ASA is not even trying LOCAL when it tries to authenticate. I want it to use the local username and password if possible. I'm kind of new to ASA's..
On another note, I have never been able to SSH in on the internal interface. I always get a "The remote system refused the connection" error message. I can only use the outside interface.
Site-ASA# sh run | in ssh aaa authentication ssh console SERVER_RADIUS LOCAL ssh 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 outside ssh 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 inside ssh timeout 60
I have dozens of Cisco Aironet 1100 access points, each is managing its own wi-fi with DHCP. I had to disable dhcp on them because they are on a wired subnet where I am using the static IPs and don't want my wired clients to get DHCP addresses, nor someone to be able to plug the wire into own laptop and get on the network. It's been working fine with one exception - I need to be able to ping my access points from the central site, and I can't. What IOS command would enable ICMP echo on my access points in this case?
I have a 1142 that I purchased that needs to be set to factory defaults so that I can configure it. I do an escape at the boot sequence and I get to the
ap:
prompt, the reset instructions that Cisco provides says that I should rename the old config.txt and reboot and that I will then be able to start my reconfig. The problem is that I can't find a config.txt file in the flash space:
I have a (old) 1231 that I would like to reuse, but no one remembers the password. how to recover a password from this model AP or how to reset the device to factory default?
I have a Cisco Wireless Router, Model # WRT160N. I had initally installed it to a laptop. I have a new PC which I am trying to install it to. Unfortunately, when I installed it to the laptop, I put in a new Username and Password. When I tried to install it to the PC, it gets to point of trying to read the router and then gives me the error message "Needs Factory installed Username and Password". I went to the IP site and tried to see where I could delete my Username and Password and reinstall the Factory defaults but cannot locate it.
I have a problem with my linksys WRT54GL router. I entered here [URL] and i set it up, i can connect to internet on my PC and wireless works great but i can't set wireless password and name. When i go to the wireless tab, i write the new name but when i hit seve setting i get disconnected from internet. I try to go to status and click on Connect tab, when is connected internet works but the name and the password of the wireless that i set earlier is reset to default. What do i have to do to set name and password and have internet at the same time.
I am trying to figure out my WEP code to use to connect to XBOX LIVE. To log on to my internet we just have a WPA-Personal I think, so I have been trying to sign into my router to hopefully obtain my WEP key there, but cannot sign in. I have tried every combination of usernames and passwords such as:
Recently I have purchased two brand new wap4410n access points.
I have connected my computer directly to one of the access points, and attempted to connect to the Web Configuration utility through my web browser.
I'm using a: 09' MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard and Safari 5.
I can access the login screen of the access point, although when I enter the default username: admin and password admin, the login screen returns an error: Invalid username and/or password (or something to that effect). The URL changes to: http://192.168.1.245/login.htm&no=3.
I have reset the device by holding in the reset button for thirty seconds, powered down, powered up and re-attempted to login.
I still get the same error as above.
I have attempted to access the Web Configuration utility on both access points, and both access points provide the same error. I have also tried using the username: cisco and password: cisco.
Cisco, when contacted, said both access points must be faulty and I should replace them.
The probability of such an occurrence happening with two devices seems very low, and leads me to think there must be other factors at play. The only constant I can think of is the fact I'm using the same computer to access the devices.
I have a 5508 WLC running 6.0.202.0. It functions as the Anchor Controller for the guest network. It sits in our Internet DMZ and is isolated from the rest of the network. It does not connect to AD, ACS, etc. The guest wireless WLAN is configured for Web Policy - Authentication. I have a customized login page. Credential management is done by WCS.
Users are connecting to the guest wireless network and entering their creds with no issues using mobile devices (iPad, etc). Then the mobile device goes to sleep / turns off and when they go to use it again, they have to type their creds in again. They dont like retyping their creds throughout the day.
good way mitigate the multiple logins? Something like a 'save password' option on the customized page?
I have tried using my router name and password when you 1st connect and got nothing.I have held the reset button for a minute straight to try and restore default settings and have got nothing. I'm trying to enter my ISP into the web browser
I'm not a very knowledgeable person when it comes to networking stuff so ill try and explain this the best I can.I have a Cisco router the number on it is EPC2425.I set a user name and password I've long forgotten for access to the web based security protocols for the modem and if there was one I've lost the disk for the control protocol program.I need to get to the port forwarding a such on there and I have no way to a present.
I would like to enable VPn in WRT54G.Cann't find where to set up user name & psw.Is client necessary to set up user name & psw if there was no need to set up user name & psw for in WRT54G ?
I just dug my router (wrt54g) out of the closet and hooked it up but I cant remember my name or password for the router. Is there anything I can do that doesn't involve paying linksys any sort of "fee"
I am stuck at a very early stage in the configuration of 3560x switch. It seemed very unusual and that is the reason, I configured basic config for line con 0 with login local. And then I had just put "enable secret xxxxxx."
Now I simply logged out and when i tried logging in, it is asking for a username. Now the thing is that I had not programmed any username. I tried using just "." followed by my secret password, but it did not work.
