View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to forward my ports and I've been following a guide from [URL]. It's simple, but it's not working for me. I couldn't find my router on their list, so I'm assuming the worst and that it's not supported for the Port Forwarding. I just went with the normal WRT54G without the version 8 and tried it that way, I didn't get anything out of that either. It keeps telling me that the port isn't open and I can't receive the information packets that they're sending me.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up my WRT54G wireless router so.i can port forward the relevant ports for my programs. I understand that you have to set up a static ip address before you can do a port forward which makes sense as you do not want to keep changing the ip address for the forwarding settings every time your network refreshes. But I cant seem to have it set up. And is there a rule that the static ip that you set should not be within the dhcp range? After setting up the static ip and setting up the port forward settings how do I test if the port is being forwarded correctly?

I am able to telnet to the AP's IP and log in with Cisco and Cisco but don't know the ENABLE password. I have tried Cisco and cisco and everything else i could think of with no luck.
I also have a Cisco Aironet AP1242AG that is doing the same thing.
I am resetting my Aironet 1231-G access points and cannot access the default username and password. Here is the information I am getting on the Console. I reset getting the amber light. External ip address: 69.117.132.xxx Ports from 8080 through 8080 forwarded Internal ip address: 192.168.1.150 - static ip address assigned to the webserver. I understand 80 could be blocked by the ISP. Can 8080 also be the same case?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI successful set up my WRT54GR router. Now I want to add a new device but can't find or remember my user name and password. So I decided to reinstall the router only to find that the http://192.168.1.1 page asks me for my admin password - having sensibly created one 4 years ago which I have now forgotten or where I wrote it down. How the hell do I get around this - if at all or do I have to buy a new router and start all over again!
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe EA4500 web-settings application asks for a username and password. The username is "admin" and the password is my long (60 character) wpa key. I see where I can change the password but it says I'll lose all wireless connections. This doesn't make sense to me. I would think the router administration username and password are completely separate from the ssid and wpa key. This was the case with my earlier LinkSys router. I'd like a router administration username to be something other than the generic "admin" and a password that is easier than my long wpa key. I want a separate ssid and wpa key (what I currently have).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI changed my E1000 router name successfully, and then went into the Administration section to change my password. After changing the password and clicking on Save a small screen pops up asking me to verify my router's username and password. When I enter the exact same user name and password it does not accept them. When I try to enter the old user name and password it does not accept them either. I then try combinations of the two and it still will not accept the input. I have reset my router 4 times now and this keeps occurring. I am completely baffled.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo here is my network.
ASA5505--->Cisco1841--->Cat2960
Code
ASA asa831-k8.bin
Cisco 1841 c1841-adventerprisek9-mz.151-4.M2.bin
Cat 2960 c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-55.SE1.bin
and here is my dilemma.
I can SSH from the internet to my ASA on default port 22, directly to my public IP. I can SSH from the internet to my Cisco 1841 on port 2001. I can not however, SSH to my Cat 2960. From what i can tell, on the Cat2960 i can't change the default port 22 for SSH to different port, just like i did on the Cisco 1841. I looked to see if I can change the default port for SSH on he ASA, it does not look like this is an option.
The bottom line is that i want to be able to SSH to all three devices from the internet. I only have one public IP. As of now, what i can do is only SSH to the ASA on default port 22 directly to the public IP and Cisco 1841 on port 2001. It appears that changing the default SSH port on Cat 2960 is not an option. It also appears that I can't change the default SSH port on the ASA, if i could, i would and then i should be able to SSH to the Cat 2960 on port 22. No matter what i did on the ASA, it always listens on port 22 for SSH connections.

how do i make it listen on different port?

I have a WRT54G router Ver. 5 with firmware v. 1.02.5. This is the second time this has happened to me but the router reset itself to the factory defaults. I lost all my configurations. I'm saving the configuration this time but it will be annoying to keep having to reconfigure the router.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Linxsys WRT54G. Once every week or two, it seems to "forget" its name, and revert to the default name. When I try to access it with my laptop or phone, "Multivac" is gone, and "Linxsys_XXXXXXX" (where XXXX are random numbers and letters) has taken its place. When I go to the setup at 192.168.1.1, the "Router Name" on the first "Basic Setup" page is still "Multivac," but the "Network Name" on the second "Wireless" page has reverted to the default. If I change it back to Multivac, everything is fine for a week or three until it "forgets" again.

Now that our cable has been restored I noticed that the wireless internet wasn't working. The wired internet works fine to this computer but no Wi-fi.I think the problem is the routers default gateway. It's supposed to be 192.168.1.1 but right now it's 24.191.112.1 .So far I have tried:
-Powercycling everything
-ipconfig/ flush DNS
-ipconfig/ release and ipconfig/renew
-Checking all the wires are pugged in fine (They are).
