Dell 1100 XP Won't Pick Up Network?
Mar 29, 2012It wont even pick up from a direct ethernet. it is saying my firewall is blocking it and i have them shut off.

Dell Inspiron 1100 - Although Connected But Cannot Access Internet
Nov 17, 2011using a Dell Inspiron 1100, XP professional, which will no longer work wirelessly - D-Link DWL-G650 Wireless Cardbus Adapter. I am presently using it via an ether net connection. "Network Connections" indicates that I am connected, but I am unable to access any websites.

Jan 17, 2008I have a dell inspiron 1100 laptop that i have a dell truemobile 1300 802.1.1 b/g PC card in for my wireless connection. My router is Libebox-7bd8 i thinkI have tried to connect to the internet as usual but keep getting "page cannot be displayed" but the pc says that i am connected to my live box with excellent connection.I also have a pc that has a wired connection that works perfect?I called my net provider one man said that oh no its your wireless card and hung up and another lady actually took my details and told me it was a common fault and it will be fixed withing 3 hours that was a week ago !

Dec 11, 2008I have a Linksys 10/100/1000 Gigabit NIC (m/n EG1032), which I've tried installing in my Dimension 1100/B110 without success. I followed the installation instructions from Linksys (i.e., open case and add card to motherboard, then start PC, at which point WINXP Pro should identify the new hardware and I would then select the driver from the disk. However, the "Found New Hardware" never came up. The Dimension 1100/B110 comes with an Intel Pro 100 NIC onboard. I next tried to disable the onboard NIC through the Hardware Manager, and use the Add Hardware feature in the Control Panel, but it didn't find the new NIC on the first go round. So, I installed the driver utilizing the "Have Disk" option. The Linksys NIC was installed, but stated that it might not work properly, and a look at the Hardware Manager confirmed that there was a problem (a yellow exclaimation point next the the new device and a Code/Error 10 in the Details section). The yellow light on the new NIC did flash when the ethernet cable was plugged in, but it didn't connect to the network. The Windows Troubleshooter recommended removing and restarting the PC, but the new NIC still was not found when Windows booted up. I next restarted the PC, went into the Bios and disabled the network interface. The PC took forever to restart into Windows, and still the new hardware was not recognized. I'm wondering whether there is a pin on the motherboard that I need to short, in order to be able to install a new NIC, or if there's some changes I need to make in the Windows software someplace. I've restored the Bios setting and have enabled the onboard NIC in the interim, so as to be able to access the internet and my network printer.

There is a wireless switch to turn on/off for the laptop, but a desktop does not have such feature.
DGL-4300 Cannot Actually Connect To Network Even Though Pick Up Signal
Dec 27, 2011I've had a D-Link DGL-4300 for the past four years now (at least) and in the past month, the WiFi signal it sends out just isn't 'good'. What I mean is, the first time this happened in November, one day all the WiFi enabled devices in my home were connecting just fine. Then quite literally the next day, each device detected a signal in the area, yet they simply couldn't connect. I've refreshed each device (iPhone, laptops, consoles) yet they cannot actually connect to the network even though they pick up the signal.
At first I reset the router and that seemed to work, but only for a day or two before the problem started up again. So then I upgraded to the last (and latest) firmware D-Link has on their site and it looked like the problem was solved for good. But unfortunately, this has started again in the last couple of days. D-Link doesn't provide any tech support for my router because it was discontinued in 2009 so I'm stuck.

Sep 1, 2011I can connect via to E4200 with old laptop via G. Great signal and speed (54mps).No such luck on same machine with AE2500(G adapter disabled). Can't find any but one network(neighbors).CD software can't find adapter.I install the adpter manually using normal xp device discovery steps.Seems like there is quite a few AE2500 issues. Should I ask for RMA return? No point in wasting more time in trying to fix Cisco's tech issue.

I had to disable dhcp on them because they are on a wired subnet where I am using the static IPs and don't want my wired clients to get DHCP addresses, nor someone to be able to plug the wire into own laptop and get on the network. It's been working fine with one exception - I need to be able to ping my access points from the central site, and I can't. What IOS command would enable ICMP echo on my access points in this case?

Jul 1, 2004I have an 1100 series AP and it seems to be configured properly, but every few minutes or so the connection will drop and then come back up again. It is happening on two different laptops. Both using Windows XP. 1 is using a Dell True Mobile wireless card and the other is using a Cisco 350 series wireless card. I am using 128 bit encryption and the signal strength says excellent on both laptops.

My first try is to get these values using snmp, but so far had no luck finding the right MIB. I don't think the console might be useful, will it ?
I know I'm assuming alot, that the Aironet enables for a 'iwlist' dump, and that these values can be retrieved through snmp. But seems something reasonable for them to have, even if I haven't found it.

Oct 9, 2012We have 5 Cisco Aironet 1100 wireless access points and we are having huge problems in the last few days with them disconnecting some mobile barcode scanners that we have.
We have two Aironet's in the top of the factory which work fine and 3 down the bottom which keep kicking the barcode scanners off. If we use the barcode scanners at the top of the factory they work fine, as soon as we come down to the other 3 WAPs it they keep connecting and disconnecting.
We get the following error in the Event log on the access points.Disassociated because sending station is leaving (or has left) BSS On the barcode scanners. [code]

Oct 9, 2011Iv been having a wierd time with my computer connecting to the internet lately. What we have is a setup of 2 routers:
1st - has my mums computer plugged into it and an xbox 360, and gets access to the internet through a modem.
2nd - is plugged into the first router, and it has my computer and my brothers connected.
Lately the 2nd router can't seem to pick up any internet connection and I'm not sure why. Usually the only way to fix this problem has usually been to reboot the modem and the 1st router, but since my mum often uses her computer its kind of awkward for me to keep rebooting it when she's using the internet just fine. As far as I'm aware the settings on both routers are still at their default values when we originally got them, so why I'm being disconnected 50% of the time is a bit of a nuisance.

Mar 30, 2011I have an older Dell Desktop (Dimension E310) with Windows XP. I haven't turned it on in a year or so. Last time I used it I had a PCI Adapter for wireless and it worked fine.
Since then we've moved and are relying on a wireless router and I'm now trying to reconnect it, but it no longer has the little wireless icon. It has the Intel PROset for wired connections (from when I first bought it), and I ran the diagnostic on it, and everything passed except for the "link test." What do I do now?
