View 5 RepliesI've download a login.html into the controller successfully, but when I preview the page there isn't an accept button. Do I need to create the accept button with the html file or is there some place I need to enable on the controller itself. After download the .tar file I reboot the controller but no luck. I also create a java script button redirect but it didn't redirect to where I needed to go. It just stuck on the splash page.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are facing an issue with a customer where a Cisco 4400 Series controller is blocking the 802.11a/n Radio Interface of a 1250 AP. The radio shows as down on the controller GUI. The error message on the GUI is that the 'Regulatory Domain' is not supported. This can be seen from the attached screenshot. Also relevant parts of the WLC configs are attached. WLC: Cisco 4402 WirelessWLC Country: SADevice: Cisco Lightweight Access Point 1250 (LAP) is controlled through the 4402 Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC)The operating system version of the LAP: c1250-k9w8-mx.124-18a.JA version of the WLC: Software Version 5.2.178.0 The problem is that the controller shows that the 802.11a/n Radio Interface in Radio Slot # 1 is always down , the customer tried to manually 'no shut' the AP interface from the console and it worked , but obviously this solution would not work as the configuration cannot be saved (LW AP).
View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded our controllers to the latest version 7 software, as I read this was one of the requirements to get them to connect. But I am not having any luck getting into a controller. Normally I plug them in to the network, they pop into the controller listed as something like AP5057.a844.xxxx and then I can finish configuring them, but a static IP on them, etc. This is the first of this model AP I have tried to deploy, so I am wondering what is different with these. or what I might be missing in the default config in the WLAN controllers. Niether of which are set to "Master" either.

When I try to add a Cisco 3602i access point to the group, I get the following error in NCS: Error: OfficeExtend requires primary, secondary, or tertiary controller management IP to be set.I am using DNS to allow my AP's to find the controller and they work just fine. Is there a reason I can't add the 3600 series AP's to the AP group?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a 5508 controller with a bunch of 3600 Series APs. I did all the basic config on the controller and added all the APs through distribution port #1. Now I was trying to config a second interface ( port #2) and use it for the Guest SSID on a separate VLAN. After I rebooted the controller, it dumped all the APs. I would like to know if this is normal, If I need to enroll the APs everytime I reboot the controller.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a client who purchased numerous 3600 series AP's (3602i to be exact) and would like to add them into their WLAN 4404 controller. They're currently on 5.x system code so I plan on getting them upgraded to the latest 7 code.
They currently have a number of AP's adding and working fine. Once the WLAN controller is upgraded, does anything specific need to be done within the WLAN gui to add in these new 3600 series AP's?
I am planning to buy new AP for my existing setup. we are using 1131AG series AP, we need to go for new one with n supported with external antenna.
Current software version on controller is : 7.0.235.3
I noticed that the 3600 access point series will get an add-on module to support 802.11ac. This standard will support more than 1 GBit/s.But the 3600 series still do only have got one GBit port. Any extended information about 802.11ac in the upcoming Cisco portfolio?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe are re-designing our wireless network and are navigating the security options. Are design will include a 5508 WLC and 3600 series APs. We plan on breaking our wireless out into four VLANS.Is 802.1x the standard for wireless authentication? What EAP flavor would you recommend for wireless? We will be supporting an environment with a variety of mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, HP tablets, Dell laptops, etc.). We will also be supporting wireless Cisco VoIP phones. Someone suggested choosing between EAP-Fast or EAP-PEAP, does this seem reasonable? Also, if we want to authenticate users using their AD account, we need to have NPS running on the AD server and use the radius protocol from client to server, is that right?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 4400 WLC's that implemented at 1 main site within a mobility group. I am looking at implementing wired guest authentication with a splash page for username and password access. I have followed the documents and suggestions about how to configure it. I created a layer 2 vlan (700) and then created a VLAN (151) that wired guests will get an IP address from. I then configured a WLAN with the ingress interface being VLAN 700 and the egress interface being VLAN 151.
All of my controllers are running code 7.0.116.0. When I go to do a test scenario with a wired client, I have the switchport setup for VLAN 151, which they get an IP address from, but when they try to go to the Internet, they don't get the splash page. Why I am not getting a splash page or even if this scenario is possible?
I have very little practical knowledge of routers, switches and AP's. I recently got a very old Cisco Aironet 1100 series AP which was working fine in one network. I reset it and tried configuring it in new network (uses DHCP to assign public IP) for school use. But not able to access internet.

View 4 Replies View Relatedaccess point and the limitation on the users connected to the SSID using a wireless lan controller. From the installation guide I see an incredible thing:
Supported User Count Only fifteen users are allowed to connect on the WLAN Controller WLANs provided on the 600 series at any one time. A sixteenth user cannot authenticate until one of the first clients de-authenticates or a timeout occurred on the controller. Note: This number is cumulative across the controller WLANs on the 600 series. For example, if two controller WLANs are configured and there are fifteen users on one of the WLANs, no users will be able to join the other WLAN on the 600 series at that time. This limit does not apply to the local private WLANs that the end user configures on the 600 series designed for personal use and clients connected on these private WLANs or on the wired ports do not affect these limits.
Is it possible a terrible limitation like this ?
I have this version Ap "c1200-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2" and a WLC 5500. When i connect the ap to the network i can ping from ap to wlc and the wlc to ap, but the proccess of lwapp messages give errors on the Ap when the Ap try to download the image from wlc and could not join the wlc. why this could be? this is the info of the wireless lan controller.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWe have been having issues with random packet drops and or some sort of radio lockup which happens a few times a day. I have a test AP setup with a few clients only a few feet away and I see this combination of messages. Should I be seeing these clients drop off and then reconnect immediately? Granted these test clients are not passing much data but my assumption is that they would not become deauthenticated because of lack of activity? This setup is using a radius server for authentication. I tested it before with just WPA2 PSK and only had a few disconnected over a number of days, compared with many a day with the Radius.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI just installed 2 new units and neither will connect to a new HP gigabit switch - no link light, other devices can connect to the switch OK. Their gigabit ethernet settings are set to auto for duplex and speed. I also tried forcing one of them to full duplex and 1000 Mbps which didn't work either. They're both powered by POE injectors. If I connect them to a 10/100 switch they work fine.

I have DHCP configured for the AP, and it gets an address of 192.168.254.100/24 - the controller's management interface is 192.168.254.99/24. I can see that the AP is getting an IP and I can ping it from the controller. However, I simply do not see the AP associating. I enabled capwap debiugging and watched the events, but I didn't see anything crazy that clued me in. What am I doing wrong?
The controller is v6.0.199.4
Every time I have set these up in the past they have been pretty straight forward. I haven't gotten too deep into the config on the WLC becuase I don't want to cause more issues.
I have new 1600 series Access Points. I am trying to join those APs on controller but unable to join.
After doing config reset using mode button, I was able to join only. Please find the logs or error messages below:

I have a customer whom has six LAP1131AG-K9 but no controller and they are interested in one of the new 2500 series, specifically a AIR-CT2504-5-K9 with a 5 AP add-on license to bring total AP capacity to 10. I can't determine clearly if this controller will work for these older AP's prior to them making the jump to 802.11n via the 3500 or 3600 series, looking to the community to confirm.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have 4 1142N LAPs that I want to divide between an internal wireless and a guest wireless network using the controller. Currently all of the APs are on an established internal network, but I want to migrate one over to a test guest network before buying more LAPs to augment the networks further. Currently the port connecting to the WCS from the 3560 switch is configured as an access port using VLAN 10. Whenever I make it a trunk port carrying VLAN 10 as well as the other ports we will be using for the guest and ap-manager networks, I lose connection with the controller. To me this implies that the port on the controller is configured as an access port as well. In the documentation I found for the controller it states that by default the ports are al configured to be trunks, but it appears as though something was changed by the previous tech. All of the APs are connected to other switches, not to the controller itself.
1) How can I get the port on the controller back to being a trunk port
2) Can I use the internal DHCP server for the guest network if the subnet is different than the management subnet, or will I have to use another external server and relay/proxy it through the controller to give guest clients IP addresses?
The Release Notes for 7.0.116.0 of WLC 5500 has a table which title is "Client Type", and it shows wireless adapters. My question is,
what kind of customer means? Wireless clients or clients for an specific application? If it was the first option, does it mean tha just this adapters could connect to my wireless network?
Looking for some training on the 2500 series controller and 1142 or 1040 AP's preferably.

Oh, and are the ports still only 100M and not Gig?I know the 547 would tick both these boxes but we are talking twice the price. How does the quality and logevity of the SRP500 series compare to the RV series (which would need an adsl modem) or the Linksys boxes?
