Cisco Wireless :: 5508 WLC Code Upgrade / WCS AP 3600?
May 8, 2012i'm going to upgrade a 5508 wlc code from 7.0.116.0 to 7.1.91.0 to add 3600 series access points having it all manageable via WCS ver 7.0.230.0 it seems to be possible, as it is explained in the compatibility matrix found on [URL]now I have to download the file to the controller...

before doing that I'd like to know if I will loose my configuration on the controller i'm concerned about that because the release document is not clear:
- We highly recommend that you back up your controller's configuration files prior to upgrading the controller software. Otherwise, you must manually reconfigure the controller.
- For busy networks, controllers on high utilization, or small controller platforms it is advisable to disable the 802.11a/b/g networks as a precautionary measure.
- Step 5 Disable any WLANs on the controller.
- Step 19 Re-enable the WLANs......
- Step 22 If desired, reload your latest configuration file to the controller. (reload config after reenabling wlans?another controller another question .....: a cisco wlc 2100

I have no idea how to delete files form the storage on the 5508? TFTP transfer gives me this error after the upload is done:

Revert The Firmware Of WRT54G2 V1?
Jun 13, 2011Im in process of upgrading my WRT54G2 Linksys router. i got the the instruction from DD-WRT.com website and it's pretty detailed. I uploaded the VxWorkskiller, then it reboot by itself, then I power cycle the router and the modem, after that, i can't connect to the internet. I can't even browse the linksys admin page 192.168.1.1. I . I tried the modem directly and i have internet connection. the router and the modem are communicating with each other. I want to revert the firmware and i'll start over again. Process to revert? I tried a lot of site & youtube how to process but no luck.

May 12, 2011So, after everyone was raving about the 1.35NA version, I downloaded it. As I always do, I disabled my wireless NIC and connected an RJ-45. I saved my config to a .gws file. I uploaded the new firmware. When I went to reload my settings file, it said it was not a valid file. I tried multiple times. I even tried earlier versions of saved config files. Same thing.
So, I figured I'd revert to the 1.34NA firmware it was previously on. It wouldn't take it. So, I used the router config "system" page and chose "restore factory defaults". It didn't work. It still had the 1.35NA. So, I used the router's reset button. I held it in for 10 seconds, saw the system lights all blink in unison. I checked the config page and it was still on 1.35NA.

So I attempted to log into the device to see what was wrong and I was surprised to discover that all of the settings including user name and password had reverted back to factory default.
1. What are all of the possible scenarios that would cause this to happen?
2.Would disconnecting power in the middle of a boot up sequence cause the router to revert to factory settings?

Jan 5, 2011I have 2 ASA5505 firewalls deployed, 1 at the data center (code v8.0.3) and 1 at a remote location (code v8.0.2). The remote location has 2 PCs that connect back to the data center to access the directory services, exchange, file servers, etc. The ASA5505 firewalls are configured for a site to site VPN.We were having stability issues with the remote ASA so we decided to upgrade the code as a first step. We updated the data center to 8.0.5 and all was well. I data was flowing and I could get into both ASAs from the data center via ASDM and ssh.Then I updated the remote location to 8.0.5. Now I can't ASDM or ssh into either ASA unless I'm at that specific site. PCs are still able to connect their servers.
I am unable to ping, telnet, ssh or ASDM into the inside vlan ip address while I am at the other site. I can see in the logs inbound connections being built on the distant firewall but it doesn't build a new outbound connection to reply traffic.Did 8.0.5 do something to block management connections from the outside?

Jun 9, 2011Trying to upgrade my Wireless LAN controller model 4404, I'm running 4.1.190.4 code and want to upgrade to 6.0.202. Looking at the release notes for 6.0.202 and the compatibility matrix, the matrix indicates I two intermediate loads first. One is 4.1.192.35m and the other is 6.0.182.0 then I can load 6.0.202 code. My problem is I can't find the 4.1.92.35m code. Looking at the software download the highest 4.1 folder has is 4.1.185.0. where to find the 4.1.192.35m code for 4404 WLC?
