Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: Cannot Upgrade ACS 5.2 Transfer Failed (code 1)

Nov 29, 2011

I am facing an issue with several ACS appliances (some other work well) when upgrading to version 5.2.0.26.8.

When I launch the command acs patch install, I receive the following error message (we use FTP):

Failed to copy file '5-2-0-26-8.tar.gpg' from repository PatchRepository
(Error -302)
% Error: patch install 5-2-0-26-8.tar.gpg from repository PatchRepository - transfer failed (code 1)

This happens on three appliances but I could successfully upgrade 4 other appliances.

What is the reason behind this error code ? What could I do solve it ? I have already tried to create another repository on another server, without success.

Slow File Transfer Over Wireless Network

Apr 22, 2012

I have a wireless network with 2 desktop hooked up wired, and one laptop that's wireless. Accessing files on the desktop with xp installed is quick and transfers files at around 5-7mb/s. When I connect to my main pc with windows 7 on it, file transfer is EXTREMELY slow and almost always stutters and freezes. I've tried removing the drive from 'shared' and then adding it again, reinstalling my ethernet driver, swapping ethernet ports on the back of my router, and resetting it altogether. Still a slow transfer speed.I use workgroup all around, for xp and for 7.

File Transfer Speed 1 PC Wired To 1 PC Wireless?

Sep 13, 2011

I spoke with two different support agents with a well respected routermanufacturer. I got two different answers - No surprise. So, I ask the forum, what file transfer speeds should I expect when transfering a good sized amount of data (10gig) from wired PC on a 10/100/1000 network router to another PC via wireless connection 20 (feet away + two walls) using 802.11N.Both PC's are new / newer with win 7 64 bit. - Current transfer speeds - Both wired and wireless internet download speed tests are arond 21 meg per second. Both PC's wired and wireless get around 3.7 meg per second internet download (speed tests). At this point - no real difference in internet access between PC's and wired / wireless.

However, when I copy a file from PC1 to PC 2 (both wired) I get 68 megs per second. When I transfer the same data set (10 gig) from PC1 wired to PC 2 wireless, the data transfer falls to 3.7 meg per second. One rep told me to expect about 80% of my wired rate or about 54 megs per second (when using my 802.11N 300meg) equipment. The other rep (same company) told me that the 3.7 meg per second ia about the best I can expect. A transfer rate of 3.7 megs per second simply does not appear to be a reasonable speed given that all my wireless equipment is pretty new and supports numbers that are much higher

Slow File Transfer Over Local Wireless Connection?

Nov 7, 2011

I am having incredibly slow connection while transferring files using file sharing.I have the below hardware:

108Mbps TPLINK Wireless Router
TL-WR642G 108Mbps TPLINK Wireless Access Point acting as repeater
Laptops accessing internet and folder sharing enabled for local file transfer

Transfering of files excessively slow (after playing around with the settings was able to get 500KBps). I have set all wireless adapters on the laptops to 802.11g only.Tried setting the router and access point to both 54Mbps and 108Mbps 802.11G only as well as b/g.

Cisco Routers :: RV220W Wireless File Transfer Slow At 2MBps?

Jul 23, 2012

I have a RV220W operating in 2.4GHz N-only mode. Channel bandwidth is set to 20MHz, channel to 6 (a site survey shows that channel as completely clear), WPA2/AES. I am connected to a TrendNet wireless bridge. The admin page for that wireless bridge shows a link quality of 100% with a signal strength of 71%. If I select a higher channel (11), the signal strength drops to 51%.

I have a Windows 7 PC connected to the Trendnet bridge and a Windows 7 server connected to the RV220W, both via a 1Gbps LAN port. When I transfer a file from the server to the PC or vice versa, I get a lowsy 2MBps (~20Mbps) transfer rate. That seems awfully slow. I tried channel bonding from 20 to 40 MHz

Linksys Wireless Router :: 4500EA LAN File Transfer Speed?

May 6, 2012

My XBOX started complaining when I began using Windows Media Center to stream videos from my PC to my XBOX. I found out that I had a wireless G router provided by verizon which wasn't fast enough to stream videos. SO, I went out and purchased a 4500EA router expecting it to be the fastest thing I had ever seen.

Now it seems a bit slow when trying to stream video from my laptop to the XBOX and i'm a tad bit confused as to why. So I did a file transfer from a desktop wired directly to the router from a laptop in the same room wirelessly connected to the network and my speed is about 4mbps. 4MBPS!? This device is supposed to be capable of moving packets LAN side at 450MBPS.

Both of my PC's are quad core, newer  model PCs. I've tried moving files now for several hours with the same results. I've toyed around with my wireless adapters, changed power settings, full duplex, half, changed mtu sizes, changed security settings. I'm out of ideas.

Is getting about 1% of the advertised bandwidth normal?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 Wifi Drops During File Transfer?

Nov 3, 2012

This is another E3000 "connection drops" thread. Some background: I have two E3000's that are cascaded. The main router is in my basement connected to my cable modem and is my DHCP server. The second one is on the main floor and provides my wireless signal (no DHCP, and is hard connected to the main router).I have lots of connection drops with the wireless router on the main floor. Lately I have noticed a trend, though. My connection drops mostly when I browse my network (usually browsing pictures on another computer) or when large files or videos are being transferred. If I connect a cable, I have no problems. When wireless, I have signal drops.I have tried every trick and tip that I've seen on this forum or been provided in the Linksys FAQ. I've changed the beacon interval, fragmentation threshold to 2306 and CTS to 2307, I've tried changing channels, I've checked and unchecked boxes for NAT, Filters, etc. I've tried different combinations of WPA2 passwords. I've tried dynamic routing, static routing, blah blah blah...

When I set the 5Ghz channel to Auto(DFS) it defaults to channel 36 and 144Mbps. When I use other channels, I get 300Mbps. Either way, my connections still drops.

I have the latest firmware 1.0.04 Build 6.I even have the router sitting on top of a laptop cooling pad to keep it cool.No matter what I do, as soon as I start browsing my network the wireless connection drops.I am so frustrated! I upgraded my WRT-160N to this E-300 router to get the faster speed and dual band but have had nothing but trouble. I never had a connection drop with my 160N.

EDIT: I notice that when my signal drops, I can see the power LED blinking on the router, like it's going through a reboot cycle.

(direct update possible)

before doing that I'd like to know if I will loose my configuration on the controller i'm concerned about that because the release document is not clear:

- We highly recommend that you back up your controller's configuration files prior to upgrading the controller software. Otherwise, you must manually reconfigure the controller.

- For busy networks, controllers on high utilization, or small controller platforms it is advisable to disable the 802.11a/b/g networks as a precautionary measure.

- Step 5 Disable any WLANs on the controller.
- Step 19 Re-enable the WLANs......
- Step 22 If desired, reload your latest configuration file to the controller. (reload config after reenabling wlans?another controller  another question .....: a cisco wlc 2100

found 2 update files

AIR-WLC2100-K9-7-0-230-0-ER.aes
AIR-WLC2100-K9-7-0-230-0.aes

why 2 update files this time? what file to update first?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Wifi Network - Slow File Transfer Speed

Mar 24, 2012

I have recently purchased a Cisco E4200 to replace my D-LINK DIR-655, which I thought was defective because I was getting slow wirless file transfer speed, regardless of setting, location and client.Using the E4200, when I transfer a file from a PC to another, both connected at 300mb on the 2.4ghz band, the file transfer rate reported by windows 7 and networx is from 2MB/s to 3.5MB/s.  I think those transfer rates are not acceptable.  Is that a good assumption ? I would expect something in the range of 10MB/s (which is what I get with a cheap dlink router, wired)

I also had great difficulty finding a channel.  I had to try them all one-by-one as the auto channel selection made my PCs connect at 130mb.The E4200 is setup as follows:

-WPA-Personal
-Channel 5
-802.11n only

I have tried 3 different computers with different network adapters and they all underperform (IMO..).There are no other wireless networks in my area.I also took the E4200 to my office which is very crowed.  Every single channel is occupied by several wireless networks.  I get a file transfer speed PC to PC of about 2MB.I basically could have kept my DIR-655 as the speeds are identical.

Apr 7, 2011

i am running windows server 2008 with the hyper V role installed.i have installed windows 7 Professional as a guest OS. assigned 2 GB of Ram to the machine. the point behind the VM is to virtualize my FTP server and incase a format is required i have the VM file on my 2nd partition, host OS on another. i use Cerberus FTP Server on the Win7 OS. i configured the server to accept SFTP and TLS connections. on the host OS i installed Fire FTP and File Zilla, both Clients will at max download a 4 MB file at 64 KB/Sec .. i have seen both jump to about 80 KB but was only a split second and never held.. however if i login without SFTP and transfer over standard protocol, i download at 1 MB/sec. which is my normal speeds. would this be only to the encryption process?, in the Cerberus Server there are options to adjust download speeds, i have left it default, and altered it to allow its max configuration. My ISP is not limiting any connections that shouldnt be.
