I have a Cisco 1841 running IOS Image C1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-3i and the following feature sets: IP, Firewall, VPN, IPS and NAC. I am having an issue viewing the Additional Task tab under the Configure menu in the GUI. Without doing much research i assumed this is an browser issue and new code would fix it. When i look on the download software there are many different codes availible and i am unsure which i need to get to update the software on my IOS.
Here are the ones i am look at and not sure which one to choose from.
I just upgraded a stack of 4 3750s from 12.2(53)SE2 to 15.0(1)SE2. The stack took awhile to come back online (about 20 min). I wanted to make sure this isn't a compatibility issues with the Boot Loader which is (C3750X-HBOOT-M) Version 12.2(53r)SE2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1).
I am planning to upgrade the WLC code and I have about 133 RAPs/MAPs/1131 APs that already joined the WLC. Will I have a problem with my MAPs when the WLC starts upgrading the code. Some MAPs will have 3 hops to connect to a RAP.
Our company has a customer with a Cisco 4402 WLC and a code version of 4.2.130.0 . The customer wants to upgrade the code to 7.0.230.0. Is there any flash size requirement when upgrading to 7.0.230.0? (upgrade train: 4.2.130.0 ----> 4.2.209.0 ----> 7.0.230.0), How can I find the flash size?
I have one instance of WCS 7.0.172.0 (on a Linux host) and a fleet of WiSMs that I'm upgrading from 7.0.98.0 to 7.0.116.0. Every time I run thru the upgrade process from within WCS (scheduled to run overnight, off peak hours) all of the controllers that were upgraded then show as "unreachable". Grepping thru wcs-0-0.log shows messages that the controllers are unreachable via SNMP but running an "snmpget" from the command line to any of the affected controllers works just fine. The only way I've found to remedy this is to stop and restart the WCS service. Considering how long that takes with my deployment...I'd rather not do that every time .
i'm going to upgrade a 5508 wlc code from 7.0.116.0 to 7.1.91.0 to add 3600 series access points having it all manageable via WCS ver 7.0.230.0 it seems to be possible, as it is explained in the compatibility matrix found on [URL]now I have to download the file to the controller...
before doing that I'd like to know if I will loose my configuration on the controller i'm concerned about that because the release document is not clear:
- We highly recommend that you back up your controller's configuration files prior to upgrading the controller software. Otherwise, you must manually reconfigure the controller.
- For busy networks, controllers on high utilization, or small controller platforms it is advisable to disable the 802.11a/b/g networks as a precautionary measure.
- Step 5 Disable any WLANs on the controller. - Step 19 Re-enable the WLANs...... - Step 22 If desired, reload your latest configuration file to the controller. (reload config after reenabling wlans?another controller another question .....: a cisco wlc 2100
I am looking to upgrade a 5510 that is currently on code version 8.0(4) to code version 9.1. I know I will have to upgrade to 1gb ram, but can i just upgrade straight to version 9.1 or do I need to follow an upgrade path? This is a standalone device so I am planning on downtime.
I am facing an issue with several ACS appliances (some other work well) when upgrading to version 5.2.0.26.8.
When I launch the command acs patch install, I receive the following error message (we use FTP):
Failed to copy file '5-2-0-26-8.tar.gpg' from repository PatchRepository (Error -302) % Error: patch install 5-2-0-26-8.tar.gpg from repository PatchRepository - transfer failed (code 1)
This happens on three appliances but I could successfully upgrade 4 other appliances.
What is the reason behind this error code ? What could I do solve it ? I have already tried to create another repository on another server, without success.
I have recently started a new job where the IOS on the 1841 routers is version 12.4. These are from 2006 mainly, probably when the routers were bought.should I upgrade to 15.0? Mainly just to plug security holes that cisco have found?
I finally can upgrade my 1841 routes from 12.4 to the latest 15.1 IOS. Any info about upgrade path , do I need to modify config file and provide me with upgrade instruction link or something like that ?
Upgrading the memory on an 1841. After inserting a 256MB/PC133/SDRAM/DIMM it would not post during the boot, hangs. If i take out the chip it works fine. The on-board memory is 128, so the 256 is the max it would take to a total of 384. According to the documentation this should work. The memory chip is a Transcend chip, basically Samsung.
We have 1841 router (Cisco IOS Software, 1841 Software (C1841-ADVSECURITYK9-M), Version 12.4(9)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)), currently the router up and running on "c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-9.T1.bin" and when we try to upgrade the IOS with "c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-24.T7.bin" its not taking the new IOS. [code]
I wanted to know how many sodium memory slots the 1841 Routers have so i can upgrade to more then 128mb of DRAMI want ideally 256+on the Cisco website in the diagrams they dont say if it has 1 or 2 slots
we need to interconnect multiple branch office (CISCO 1841 with VWIC-1MFT-E1 ) via E1 links to the main site (CISCO 3745 with NM-8E1 IMA ). We succeeded to connect them using the same VWIC-1MFT-E1 at both sides (Branch / HQ), but I need to connect up to 10 sites in the future, so we thought that may be we can use ( NM-8E1 IMA) to make it possible and to save some space for any future upgrades. Honestly, we couldn't find any E1 related commands to configur this card (NM-8E1 IMA). Did we choosed the wrong card (NM-8E1 IMA).?
We currently have a Cisco 1841 router with version 12.4(1c) of IOS using image c1841-ipbase-mz.124-1c.bin. Our goal is to make it so our router can fully support IPv6. The current IOS version cannot. I've seen a site that seems to indicate 12.4T does support with IP Base image but recently had Cisco tell me with the latest IOS release 15.1.4.M4 that I have to use either the "Advanced Enterprise Services" or "Advanced IP Services" image. Did Cisco just remove IPv6 from IPBase in later IOS releases?
Also I've seen conflicting specs on the max amount of Flash and DRAM the router can support. The following link shows that 384MB is the max for DRAM and 128MB max for flash. We're looking to upgrade ours from 128MB and 32MB respectively but as mentioned I've seen it where higher amounts are supported. In fact we bought a backup 1841 to have and it has a 256MB Flash card in it.URL
Last but not least. Where can I find a straightforward documention of this situation where we may have to upgrade our Flash and DRAM and then upgrading the IOS?
I have been searching through the cisco docs for a while and i just cant seem to find this info. Can I run aironet 1600's with my wism running 7.0.116? Also, could I run my 1130 series ap's with a wism2? Basically, what is the minimum code level for a lightweight 1600, and what is the maximum code level for a lightweight 1130?
I have two Windows 7 computers and neither one will successfully upgrade a 1242 AP to LWAP. However, I go to a coworker's XP machine and run the tool without issues. On Windows 7 I keep receiving the error message of ACL or Firewall is blocking. I have added rules and then even tried disabling the firewalls completely on both computers and still no success.
Is it possible to upgrade the CSACS-1121-UP-K9 to be a non upgrade part? We were going to upgrade from a Windows 4.x to the above Appliance (version 5.x) but there is now a reason to keep the old Windows version running therefore we cannot give the new Appliance the old ACS's licenses?!So we should have (with hindsight) bought a fresh version of the ACS 5.x rather than an upgrade.
I have 2 ASA5505 firewalls deployed, 1 at the data center (code v8.0.3) and 1 at a remote location (code v8.0.2). The remote location has 2 PCs that connect back to the data center to access the directory services, exchange, file servers, etc. The ASA5505 firewalls are configured for a site to site VPN.We were having stability issues with the remote ASA so we decided to upgrade the code as a first step. We updated the data center to 8.0.5 and all was well. I data was flowing and I could get into both ASAs from the data center via ASDM and ssh. Then I updated the remote location to 8.0.5. Now I can't ASDM or ssh into either ASA unless I'm at that specific site. PCs are still able to connect their servers.
I am unable to ping, telnet, ssh or ASDM into the inside vlan ip address while I am at the other site. I can see in the logs inbound connections being built on the distant firewall but it doesn't build a new outbound connection to reply traffic.Did 8.0.5 do something to block management connections from the outside?
Trying to upgrade my Wireless LAN controller model 4404, I'm running 4.1.190.4 code and want to upgrade to 6.0.202. Looking at the release notes for 6.0.202 and the compatibility matrix, the matrix indicates I two intermediate loads first. One is 4.1.192.35m and the other is 6.0.182.0 then I can load 6.0.202 code. My problem is I can't find the 4.1.92.35m code. Looking at the software download the highest 4.1 folder has is 4.1.185.0. where to find the 4.1.192.35m code for 4404 WLC?
Suddenly out of the blue, a I cannot acces my NAS anymore from my laptop. From any other computer in my network I can acces the NAS. My laptop has also no problem with the network in the office
I misplaced a slip of paper with my WEP security code. I bought a new wifi TV and want to get it online. I have a 5~yr old dlink wireless router and TW internet. I tried to see if I could pull the code from my Droid 2 and PS3, but no go. Haven't tried the Xbox or Wii, but I imagine they won't show it either.-Can I log onto my router get the code straight from it?-Is there an easier way?-What is the address number to access my router?-Can I change the code without needing the original (if all else fails)?
I just got a new server for hosting, installed Windows Server 2008 R1, and it installed correctly with no errors. First time running it, everything is plugged in, and there ethernet would not pick up at all. Went to Device Manager and got: "This Device Cannot Start. Code 10"Tried different cables, I even swapped the network switches (clearly wasn't the problem). More information can be supplied if needed.
