My RVS 4000 v1 router firmware version 1.3.0.5 has been intermittently going off-line ... a reset of the power resolves the issue temporarly. My plan was to update the firmware but I haven't been able to download an uncorrupted version of the firmware file on the Cisco support site. The file downloads as a zip file but the winzip program says that the file is not in a valid zip format and cannot open it.
My internet connection seems to drop offline randomely while surfing the net. It basically results in yahoo or google freezing for 20-60 seconds before unfreezing and running flawlessly again. I seen a previous post that requested the individual hit start, run, cmd, and enter tracert google.com.

We need to update the firmware for a small business router WRVS4400N. Unfortunately, I can't even burn the ISO file to CD after downloading it as instructed. I get the following error message: "The selected disk image file Isn't valid." I'm using a Windows 7 Ultimate computer.  I downloaded the proper firmware update for my version V2.0.1.3 router several times, but each time I get the same message.  The main reason we purchased this router for our business for for the extra layer of protection with ProtectLink. It has been over two years now, and we still have not got our ProtectLink service installed because we are unable to install the service until the firmware is updated.  After doing some research online, we found-out that the ISO file needs to be padded to 2 Kb in order to be valid for burning. The ISO firmware file you provide for this update is not according to my calculations. We have no way of converting the file myself and don't know what to do about this situation.  We are extremely taken-back at the fact that I must submit my issue here on a forum rather than address the issue directly to Cisco Support. We are very disappointed with Cisco support as they appear to want to charge additional money just to get an initial shipped-problem remedied. You would think that the company that essential built the internet infrastructure would be more considerate to their customers. We will never purchase another Cisco product given this level of terrible support.Â
Do Cisco recommend me running the latest firmware update? Im just an individual who uses it for like a small web-/FTP-/Mail-server, etc. What are the recommendations? Personally I would have updated to the latest...but what are actually the Cisco recommendations?
We just purchased a new SRP 547W. When logged in with either the default admin or the cisco account there is nowhere to updare the firmware, but the manual says there is such a screen. The manual also mentions a "user list" under the "Administration" tab, but that is nowhere to be found either!  Model: SRP547W, ADSL2+ AnnexA, 802.11n FCC, 4FXS/1FXO Version ID: V02 Hardware Version: 3.1.0 Boot Version: 1.1.19 (Aug 24 2010 - 20:50:42) Firmware Version: 1.02.00 (023) Jan 6 2011 ADSL Firmware Version:0.60.0Recovery Firmware: 1.02.00 (023) Setup Wizard Version: 20101106.00
I was going to update my firmware and the update for F5D8236-2 says it is version 2.01.03. At looking in my router it currently has version 2.01.06 (Jul 2 2009 22:24:38)Which should I be using?
Linksys WRVS4400N Current Firmware Version: V1.00.16  Tried updating the firmware to either of the two version you seem to have available, but fails with:  "Upgrade file is not the correct type or version for this device. Upgrade failed. Please obtain the correct file and try again."  Tried this one: WRVS4400Nv2_v2.0.2.1.img And this one: WRVS4400Nv2-fw-2.0.1.3-K9.img  Then spent 2 hours trying to find how to get support for this product. where I may download the correct firmware for this product?Â
Is there any timeframe on an update for the RV220W firmware? I have had to take mine out of production due to it freezing up/locking up under medium loads. DNS queries (dig) don't respond, pings outside of the network don't respond. Pings to the router DO respond. SSH responds but I have no login info to proceed further. The config (web) page doesn't respond. Interesting enough nntp (news groups) DO respond and download fine. Eventually the unit catches up and the config page shows back up. I wish there was a way to login via the ssh to see what is going on internally with processes. I will have to find time eventually. Right now my old Linksys 54G with DD-WRT is smoking the Cisco router's performance.
i tryed to update my rv120w from 1.0.2.6 to 1.0.4.10 after about 15 minutes i power cycled the router.it now has alternating green power and wireless lignts flashing and router is unresponsive.
it does not give out ip address and not reachable when seeting static ip on cpui have tried the reset button. Can this unit be recoverd somehow?
I have tried to update firmware on a RV220W. Something stopped and now it won`t start. The power led blinks a few times and goes off, the LAN and WAN port wich is connected is lit. I have tried 10 seconds reset button but nothing happens.
I just bought an RV220w. My first act was updating th firmware to 1.0.2.4. Unfortunately I was not able to configure the router for vlan purpose 'cause the "Port VLAN" point was missing in the webinterface. I performed several factory reset but it didnt work for me - so I got back to firmware 1.0.1.0.
I've previously upgraded the firmware on our RV220W from 1.0.0.26 to 1.0.1.0 without any problems but all attempts to upgrade to the latest version 1.0.2.4 fails with the following message "Upgrade failed due to invalid/corrupted firmware". The router then automatically reboots with the current firmware. Â We've already tried re-downloading and applying the update from several different machines using different operating systems and browsers without success. How to apply this firmware version successfully? We really need one of the VLAN fixes included in this latest version!
i got the RV042 and want to update the fw to 4.04.xx . After a few minutes, the browser wanted to perform the update again. I agreed and now, the webinterface isnt available and i cant get a IP from the router. So I tried to reset the router twice. After no success, I performed a factory-reset, which should work when I pressed the reset-button at least for 30 sec.Now the DIAG-LED blinks in a ~5sec rythm. What can I do?
I have done a firmware update at my repeater F5D8233-4. But now I have no access to the webGUI of the repeater. The SSID can be found and I can access the network. But I cannot connect a 2nd repeater now. How can I reset the old firmware?
I cant find any info for my router F9K1004 on belkin's support site. I would like to see if there is a firmware update and if there is any info to setup my VPN at home.
During a firmware update, the router shutdown rebooted, stayed on for about 1 minute and then powered off and never rebooted. 750DB, F9K1103v1. What do I do next?
I was having intermittent internet issues. I was advised by my ISP to update the firmware. I tried via web browser but when I tried clicking on the firmware update link I would lose the page or the page wouldn't load.
I then tried running the cd and installed the bellkin software and got everything working - it asked me to update the firmware to which I readily agreed considering the request from my ISP. Then during the firmware update, my problem took place.
Retried multiple times to restart the router as well as resetting the router.
My SRP527W has never had its firmware upgraded since purchase. I had a need to do this recently, but could not find the section under Administration for Firmware upgrade. The only two items under Administration are Time Setup and Switch Setting.I've tried different browsers, to make sure that was not an issue, with no success. Any direct URL to the modem web interface that might allow me to update the firmware. url...Otherwise is there another method using a USB stick or tftp or similar?
When trying to update the firmware on my range extender, 192.168.2.1 does not work (per instruction page). When I found my default gateway address, it wanted me to login to my Netgear router -- not to the Belkin extender to which it's currently hard connected. F9K1106V1
MY belkin router model no :F5D7234-4v1, recognizes only my laptop and my other devices such as mobile and tab are getting the signal and w-fi gets connected but the internet is not working. when contacted service provider he asked to upgrade the firmware. Is there any recent version firmware upgrade of the model. current version is F5D7234-4_UK_1.00.01.
I have recently acquired one of these routers. I thought, being a Cisco product, it would be the bee's knees. It is not. After finally getting the network set up - no mean feat, although I do not claim any expertise, but had to resort to some other network management software to finally get it all running - the router drops either the WAN connection or the wireless connection many times a day. The laptops often show as being connected to the network/router, but are unable to access either the internet, or the router via the browser. Re-booting the router is the fix, but, hey, I can achieve that sort of performance with any old $20 router - none of my old Net gear routers was this troublesome.  The permanent fix would seem to be a firmware upgrade, but guess what? The only options available under the "Administration" tab are time setting and switch settings - no firmware upgrade. The supplied firmware is 1.01.09(001) Apr 7 2010. Why these products are supplied, as new, without the latest firmware installed beats me, but there you go.
When i try to update the firmware it tells me the it is an incompatible update.ive followed all the instructions.my model number is f5d8235-4 v2.i have downloaded the correct version for the firmware update (2).
How do I update the firmware on my N wireless router with version 2000? It says there is an update, but I can't update it with the one firmware update that's available for download.
Manual and firmware not available for my f7d2401nt. The US support page do not find the model, the italian support page find the model but link to the US page ! Someone has at least the manual (englis, french or italian language) ?
I have a Zoom adsl x6 model 5590 wireless router. I recently tried to update its firmware by following the instructions from the manufacturers site. Everything seemed to go correctly, but I am now unable to connect to the internet or my routers http address. My router now has a red power light along with a solid green light for the wlan and dsl.
I've been having some issues with my DIR-825, it's been intermittently dropping internet connection. Â This is across multiple OS (Win 7, Ps3 OS, iOS, etc.
System Information Firmware Version:V2.0.2.7CPU:STAR 9202Â Router is operated 2y. No problems till now. There is sometimes abnormal lost of Internet connection, detected by LAN devices. I found it 3 days ago. This dysfunction is occasional 2-5 per day in occasional time.Nothing was changed/upgraded/updated in my WAN cable router or LAN or in the Cisco router. Nothing was changed on computers site (OS,LAN cards, drivers, ...). Just the problem is discovered on the router side.LAN operatation is correct, no problems was founded. Just the devices on LAN lose the internet connection (Win7, Lnx, Mac). Â This is status of my WAN - does not matter if the internet connection was lost or not. It is still same:
STATUS-WAN/Gateway Interface: UP IP Address is assigned (checked by provider - correct) Default Gateway and DNSs are assigned too(checked by provider- correct) Â What was checked by me:
1. A. I disconnected the cable router from Cable modem
B. I connected the Cable router directly to laptop. Internet connection was right. Â 2. I called to my Cable provider to check my connection:
- with direct laptop connection to Cable router - Right
- with Cisco router connected to Cable router - Right, but no Internet connection on LAN side behind the Cisco router  3. Standard procedure was tested:
- Unplugged (electricity & cabling) all devices - Cable modem, Cisco router as well.
- Restart of Cable modem, +30 sec. connection of IP cable to Cisco router, start of Cisco router Still same. No Internet connection.
- SETUP/SUMMARY/Network Settings Status - DHCP Release or DHCP Renew was tryed - Still same. After several minutes - was Internet connection Renewed. Just by itself. how?
I have my RVS-4000 configured using static IP addresses in the LAN configuration. The users use DHCP to get their addresses (for the most part, a couple may have static IPs set on the computer). I have the maximum number of DHCP users set to 1 to restrict the ability of people to log in to the system. That one address is locked down.  The internal address of the router is set to 182.168.2.1. It doesn't conflict with anything on my network. I have 35 static IPs. About half of them are uing IP Based ACL to limit their access time but that doesn't seem to bear any relationship to what drops off.   Almost daily one or more of the users will lose their IP address and a hard reset of the router is required. The user this happens to seems random and it may be more than one but seldom all of them. The network includes Windows7 (Home & Pro), a FreeNAS, Macs (Leopard and Snow Leopard), iPad, iPods, an iPhone and an AirPort Extreme used as a WAP (DHCP is disabled). The AirPort is plugged directly into the router and has a staic ip on the RVS-4000 but is set to DHCP. It seems to be the most common problem child.
