I recently applied a new activation key to an ASA5512 to add the 250 anyconnect essentials user. However, after reboot, I lost the 3DES/AES license which now reads disabled.
how to re-install the 3DES key?
I cannot find the old "Get a FREE 3DES" activation link - it says http:403 error.
I use this oid to gather mac address: .1.3.6.1.2.1.17.4.3.1.1
This has worked on all of our cisco switches (3560,SG300, etc...). When an SG300-20 was updated to 1.2.7.76 the oid no longer exist.

I am absolutly sure I have the password, because they are the same and I just upgraded it. I have re-booted the switch, but without any luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated the fimware on my WRT160N v3 and followed it up with a reset of the router. I then restored the router settings that I had saved. All the settings appeared to be good, but none of my wireless devices would connect. I reneted the pass phrases (WPA2) but still nothing. Tried to change the passphrase, still no good. I then did a factory reset of the router from the setiings page and manually re-entered and save the settings, again nothing. All of my devices are able to "see" the network and the correct SSID.

I do not have any of the old license information since this was set up years ago and was way before my time with the company. I currently have Avast Internet Security installed and I have tried to uninstall the Avast software as I wish to change my antivirus software. I have tried uninstalling in safe mode using the Avast Clear utility. Unfortunately after using this utility the Avast program still remains on my hard drive in Program Files which I then have to delete manually. After doing so and restarting my computer I have no internet connection and the only way I can restore my internet connection is by copying the Avast program back into my Program Files.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a D-Link router not too long ago and I set it up in an odd way, the router password I gave it during the setup would not be accepted but the Network Security Key (the randomly generated alphaneumeric code) was accepted. I used it to connect all of my wifi devices.
The router password (which doesn't work), the "network name (SSID)", the network security type, and the network security key were all saved on my desktop. My computer has since suffered a critical crash and had to have it's hard drive erased. I still remember the password, the network name, and the security type. But the NSK (the thing I need to connect in place of a password) has been lost. It was this long random string of letters and numbers that I couldn't remember for the life of me.
I also remembered my Admin password, so I am able to log into http://192.168.0.1, but in here I only know how to change the regular password. I don't know how to access or change the NSK. change the security setting so that I can use the actual password instead of the NSK? Because of the crash I lost my iTunes libraries so I'm going to have to reset all my iOS devices, which are primarily what I use wifi on. If I reset them, they'll forget the wifi network and the assosiated NSK password, so I won't be able to use wifi at all.
I had to reset and reboot. I entered the router ISP and went through the 4 step process then rebooted.
My question/problem is now the router is wide open. How do I find page where I can enable the security settings and lock down the router to the outside world?

They need a device to provide :- firewalling- bandwidth limiting based on protocols, IP, users- web content filtering- good reporting to see which device/users are consuming most of the bandwidth.I used to use cisco ASA as firewall but it's a while I last installed on and I'm nt uptodate which current state.So I thought of using an ASA 5512-X but I'd like to know if it comply with all the requirements .Most important being the reporting and bandwidth limiting capability. On Friday people were connecting, but now I get a message "Login Error" in the browser. In the ASDM home 'latest ADSM Syslog Messsages' I get "AAA authentication server not accessible", followed by two messsages AAA Marking LDAP server in group as FAILED AAA Marking LDAP server in group as ACTIVE
When I go to configuration --> Remote Access VPN --> AAA/Local Users AAA server groups and click on my RADIUS server and click Test, it takes a while and says ERROR: AD agent Server not responding: No error
If I stop my IAS server on my Windows box i get the same error but much more quickly.
I have a sonciwall set up doing the same thing, and RADIUS seems to work happily, so I don't think it's the server config...
My collegue and I have been trying to figure out why we are unable to get this ASA to NAT Overload correctly. I'm sure it is something stupid, and the config may have gotten a little dirty as we tried to change options and make it work. FYI, we can ssh from the WAN into the device to configure it. It is communicating externally, but it isn't natting.

I have a customer who needs a 5512-X set up with two ports on the "Outside" interface and act like a switch on the outside. This is very easy to do with the way the ASA 5505 works just by creating vlans and treating the ports as members of the vlan.

I've enabled Cisco "Anyconnect Premium Peers" for client less ssl vpn connections, the obvious catch is that for ikev2 Anyconnect sessions it wants to use up the SSL license pool instead of the IPSEC pool (which I have lots of connection licenses for "Total VPN Peers : 250".
* Is there any way to configure Anyconnect to connect via IPSEC and use an IPSEC license (while keeping the Anyconnect Premium Peers enabled)?
* Do I have to consider 3rd party vpn clients, outside Anyconnect?
