I just upgraded the firmware on the RV220W to 1.0.2.4 and it looks like the time is not updating. I tried a couple of different default time servers and also a custom time server (time4.nrc.ca).
I have a WRT610N (v2) router and I recently updated the firmware to the most current version 2.00.01 build 15. I can no longer set WPA2 security for both bands (used to work just fine). Every time I try to save settings for WPA2 for the 5 GHz band, it tells me it was successful but then displays that the security mode is disabled (and it shows up on my computers list as not having any security enabled. If not, where can I get a copy of the old firmware that worked?
Hooked up this router the other day to replace my old Linksys G - which has been bulletproof for 8 years. I am now wondering if I made a mistake with this unit.
I set up DDNS - after much trial and error with dyndns it now works fine.I tried to set up NTP time function - does not work. Then I set time manually. Of course on reboot it looses the time since there is no internal time function. So I need NTP.In the course of troubleshooting I turned off DDNS and behold the NTP time function now works. I turn DDNS back on and NTP does not work.
I see no logical connection between these two functions, yet the seem to interact (or not) somehow. When the NTP is not working, on reboot the time displayed in the router is the last time that I MANUALLY set the time, even though that is grayed out since I have (supposedly) activated NTP.
If I do NOTHING to NTP and uncheck DDNS, after reboot the time is correct.I tried many different NTP servers all with the same result.Looking back on-line, I see the NTP function has been a continual problem with some folks (maybe those using DDNS?) in earlier firmware. Come on DLINK don't you think it's time to get this fixed?
I have an Internet link, connected to my Cisco Router. The package I subscribed for comes with a dynamic IP Address. I was told, if I need to remote access into the Cisco Router, I need to enable the DDNS feature. Can this be done on a Cisco Router?

I just set up DDNS for my home, and also set forwarding port 5000 for my NAS with an specific IP address 192.168.1.xx. Then, I use my office Internet to call DDNS xxx.dyndns.org:5000 to connect the NAS in my home, It is working OK (from outside to home) However, if I call xxx.dyndns.org:5000 by my home Internet, it is not working (from inside home to home). But if I directly call NAS' IP address 192.168.1.xx:5000, it is OK to reach it. So I think, DDNS used behind TD-8970 (inside home) is not working. TD-9870 is not forwarding port.
I don't know what do I miss in setup this WD-8970.
My previous Zyxel wireless router modem can allow me to us DDNS behind it with out any extra setting. Is it possible that there is still some bug in Firmware of this TD-8970?
I have WRT54G2 router. All settings are more-less default and the behavior is following. You start up the router. If you do not connect wireless device within 10 minutes, then you have to restart the router. You have assigned IP via wifi, and when you connect cable device to the router, the wifi PCs are disconnected.
I have windows xp home and the last few days a security installation has kept trying to install ie: "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242) (update 1 of 1)..."
We have a WLC 4402 controlling 40+ LWAPs. Is there a way to keep Tx power level assignment dynamic, but set the time of day it does it? I'd like to minimize user impact. (Firmware v. is 7.0.116.0)
I have Cisco ASA 5510 with CSC-SSM-10. ASA anti-virus service can not update the Base and Plus lisense. No Activation Code required for renewal. I go to "Administration> Product License" in the CSC SSM console and click "Check Status Online" to get the latest expiration date.In the module on the Check Status Online has reported the following error when: Base License status could not be checked because of a license server failure. "Please try again later", "Plus License status could not be checked because of a license server failure. Please try again later". UPDATE manual virus database can be seen in the latest available version, can not be upgraded because the service expired.
I recently applied a new activation key to an ASA5512 to add the 250 anyconnect essentials user. However, after reboot, I lost the 3DES/AES license which now reads disabled.
how to re-install the 3DES key?
I cannot find the old "Get a FREE 3DES" activation link - it says http:403 error.
Has any else encountered the SSLVPN not functioning on a Windows client AFTER installing KB2585542? If we install the update, we can't use SSL VPN with the AnyConnect client until the update is removed.
SG200-08 and SG200-08P fail to hold or update Date/Time.(New installation for a UC320 setup.)I've got both an SG200-08 and SG200-08P that are failing to maintain date/time when set with "Use Local Settings". Every restart/powercycle causes them to reset to Dec 31 1969. Other settings save fine.I first tried to set time via SNTP Unicast using a variety of public time server addresses including the 3 hard coded to the SG200-08 firmware:
Sadly though it always just shows "Active Server Server Host Address: 0.0.0.0" and continues having 12/31/1969 as the date. Both after a config save and a reboot.I can ping the NTP servers just fine from the switches either by IP or by hostname. At this point I've decided that I must be missing something simple. At least I hope so... otherwise it's a firmware bug which means waiting for a fix.Other devices behind the same firewall/gateway (RVS4000) are updating NTP
I have to upgrade to an ASA 5510 CSC, and the new license is generated, the file you sent me licensing, only seen this:Activation Code not required for this renewal. Please go to "Administration> Product License" in the CSC SSM console and click "Check Status Online" to get the latest expiration date (BASE: 09/04/2014, PLUS: 09/04/2014).This means that what I have not make any upgrades or license charge in the ASA? Does the automatic update is made?
I know about recomendation to update a system software! Here is my software version and rdp plug-in version: asa843-k8.bin, rdp-plugin.120424.I also tried to use previous version of rdp plug-ins, but connection through RDP still not work normally! 90 percent of the attempts to give a black screen.
My laptop won't connect to the internet at all and status shows limited access to router. It was fine a few days ago until a Windows update. I did a system restore on it back to before the windows update and the internet was working just fine but then there was an automatic windows update again and the connection is gone again. When I try to troubleshoot it says the network adapter is not working properly. I'm currently using the main computer in the house. I can't access any network at all on my laptop and I'm nearly in tears. This has happened before about 7 months ago after a windows update. At that time I did a system restore and reinstalled the updates and it worked just fine. This time nothing. I have tried to check for updated drivers for the network adapters but windows says I'm running the recent ones.
I need to estimate the installation and configuration time of Cisco NAC (NAC Network Module spare for 2800, 3800 ISR) and Cisco NAC Manager(NAC Appliance 3315 Manager -max 3 Servers. There is some Cisco tool to estimate the installation and configuration time?
My wife's computer was working fine. Two nights ago, a Windows update was automatically installed. Now, it will not connect to the internet. The map shows it connected to the network. We have several other devices on our network both wired and wireless and all of them are working fine.
I was able to use system restore yesterday to roll back the update. It still did not work. However, I tried connecting to a neighbor's wireless. It said something about refreshing the adapter and then it connected to our network and was working fine. Unfortunately, when she shut down last night, the windows update was reapplied. I turned off automatic updates and tried using system restore. It did not work this time. I removed every update that was applied in the last 48 hours but I still cannot get the computer to connect to the internet. However, it does connect to the internet when I bring it up in Safe Mode.
I'm having trouble seeing my WD 2TB HDD USB after the latest update, it's not showing the partitions anymore. Before the update it was working perfectly.
I'm using 1 partition for my Mac backup and the other partition for Win filesharing.
I was upgrading the FW to 2.07 and after waiting 180 seconds, the router didn't came back, I reset the router and now got a Firmware Upgrade System Ver 1.0.0.2 Date 2009/12/07 Screen when typing 192.168.0.1. Tried to upload all the firmwares starting with 2.00NA and always got the Incorrect hardware ID image, please Check! message.. I can't get the *D-Link Router Recovery Mode* page or any other page. Looks like the firmware update wasn't successful and the router is not longing working, need to find out how to recover from a faulty firmware installation.? Also I open a case with DLink Tech Support, they told me to call Tech Support but I can't access the numbers from my country. I already answered their email like 4 times that I can't access the # and they keep telling me to call the #. Anyway what else I can do to recover the Router.
After flashing the latest version of the firmware for the WRV200 (1.0.39) all of the pages on the web based admin tool are not working, and some are missing alltogether.I need to be able to re-flash the firmware to an earlier version (or attempt to re-flash this version) without using the web-based admin tool, as the page for doing the flash is one of the one's that is missing. Re-setting it doesn't work. I have tried searching here and through Google without any luck so far. The WRV200 works fine, but obviously is not locked down from a security standpoint, which is a large problem.
I have wirless router WRT54G ver.2. and I had firmware 2.0 So I downloaded new firmware From Here and did exactly as in instruction.
After update went successful I unplaged my router for 30 seconds but it's not working. I mean it's flashes and everything but can't access it and it is not broadcasting. and whats most interesting, reset buttom is not working
Want can I do? can I access it with some other way and reinstall firmware?
I have been having trouble with my router with wireless network intermittently cutting out every couple minutes (on all devices, like laptop, phone, and tablet.) So, in my wisdom, I went online and downloaded version 2 firmware and after power cycling the wireless doesn't work anymore. Questions:
I have my old Dell Desktop connected (hardwired) into the router, and it works when I take the wireless router out of the loop. How do I update the firmware on the router if I can't connect wirelessly or hardwire anymore? I want to go to version 1 to see if that will solve the original issue.
For the original issue of cutting out and reconnecting constantly, would version 1 work or something else? It isn't my cable modem, as internet has always worked fine connecting desktop or laptop directly.
So, I have this router at home a WRT150N. I put in access restrictions so my siblings won't stray onto unwanted pages.I enabled SPI Firewall Protection and what do you know, it worked. The next day though, we didn't have an internet connection.I checked everything with the modem (power cycles, etc.) and then I tried the router. Upon disabling SPI Firewall Protection, the internet connection came back.I tested it yet again, to see if it really was the SPI. Enabled and bam, no internet access again. I made sure to select "Allow" in the Access Restrictions for "Internet access during selected days and hours" making sure also that "Everyday" and "24 Hours" are selected. Now my question is, what do I need to do in order to enable my Access Restrictions without having to lose internet connection via the SPI Firewall?
I have setup a Cisco SR520W and everything appears to be working. After a few hours, it looks like the WAN port stops forwarding traffic to the Internet gateway IP of the device. If I unplug and then plug in the network cable connecting the WAN port of the SR520W to my the modem, traffic startings flowing again. Also, if I restart the SR520W, the traffic will flow again.
My internet (wired and wireless) usually works fine, but occasionally (read: every few days to weeks) the connection will suddenly black out for a period of time, anywhere from an hour to a day. I have tried resetting both my router and modem, and going through all the settings on my laptop, but I'm pretty sure it's not my computer, as no other devices can connect either. During the blackouts, when I look at the modem, the internet light will turn on for a second, then go off and then the red "alarm" light (aka "something is wrong" light) starts blinking like crazy, and this keeps repeating. This resolves itself after anywhere from a few hours to a whole day and everything is normal again. The light show, and the fact that I can't find any other problems, leads me to believe that it could be a problem with my provider (or the network itself) and not a hardware or software problem, but I can't be sure of this. Also, during the blackouts, I can connect to the network, but it shows that limited connectivity symbol (exclamation mark thing) and says no internet.
My Internal Wireless adapter not working each time boot up I am using Windows 7.
I have to diagnose each time and click fix for it to enable the internet to be on. Why is it disconnecting me from connecting to the internet all the time upon startup ?
Here are the details-

my timer warner router connect to a swith (linksys), and the swith connect to 2 computer. When i restart one of the computer, the internet don't work, but the networking is working, i need to reset the modem by unplug and unplug the line of one computer (so only one computer is hook up to swith and then to the router).... after i got the internet connection from that computer, then i can hook up another computer successfully. But after I reboot one computer, the internet connection won't work again
I have a DIR-825 router connected to my cable modem. The 2.4ghz constantly goes down but not the 5.0ghz. Our wireless devices will see the connection but we are unable to connect. We only have one device that uses the 5.0 and multiple devices that use the 2.4 and none of them can connect.I am currently running firmware 2.02. I also notice that the time changes and I have to reset the time/date.I have tried rebooting the device, resetting the router, changing the network key, updated the time/date, renewed the DHCP...I don't know why it keeps going down, why the time/date keeps changing, and why I cannot get the 2.4 working.
I have a Zoom adsl x6 model 5590 wireless router. I recently tried to update its firmware by following the instructions from the manufacturers site. Everything seemed to go correctly, but I am now unable to connect to the internet or my routers http address. My router now has a red power light along with a solid green light for the wlan and dsl.
