I have an Internet link, connected to my Cisco Router. The package I subscribed for comes with a dynamic IP Address. I was told, if I need to remote access into the Cisco Router, I need to enable the DDNS feature. Can this be done on a Cisco Router?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to configure an existing 2600 router to use dynamic NAT for access to the web and ALSO I have (5) fixed IP addresses for use with an email server, a web server, and (3) future servers. I do not know the concept of how to set this up. I'm currently using dynamic NAT for the web and this seems OK but I dont know how to map my fixed servers. I assume this is done with static NAT. Do I need to add sub interfaces on the S0/0 T1 interface for each of these fixed IPs? Then do I somehow do static NAT on these fixed IPs to their respective servers?

I have a network of 3750's configured for DAI with DHCP Snooping implanted and working with windows XP for around a year. Now we've changed a couple machines for windows 7. I have a floor with around 200 workstations on XP and about 4 on Seven.Two of these WIN7 are triggering the err-disable for arp inspection (configured by default to block interfaces sending over 15 arp pps) I noticed that when I go on windows -> network and I do a refresh, sometimes (most of the time after boot up or idle time) it will trigger the massive arp response on the network. I noticed that all hosts on the network updated their arp entry for that computer(win7) at the same time, for some reason I don't know. The windows 7 tries to reply over fifty arp requests for its IP which caused the port to be put on err-disable.There were no applications running on the windows7 computer at the time of the tests, only wireshark and its default services.This computer has configured:DHCP with WINS Its on a windows domain has netbios over TCP.

I have a single dynamic IP on the outside interface of the ASA and would like all internal hosts to NAT/PAT to it. In addition, I would like to have several ports 'forwarded' to internal hosts, one of which is TCP/4343. With the current configuration all hosts are NATing to the external interface properly but the service running on TCP/4343 is not accessible from the outside. See command output below:

All seems to work fine when the distance between the two devices is closer then 200ft. When I connect to 10BaseT devices farther out near 300ft the response from the attached device is lost. It works ok on unmanaged switches at the longer distance. Is there a minimum response time from attached devices for dynamic port security to work properly? Is there any other explanation why it would work on cheaper switches, but not on the Port Secured Switch?

[code] With the above settings entered and the Update button pressed favorable results are obtained; the router reports that DynDNS.org updates okay. However once the "Save Settings" button is pressed an update fails with the error "Authorization failure bad ID or password".Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is the password field limited to certain characters?

My client has about 15 public IP addresses for their WAN network. All the internal network IP will be dynamic NAT to these 15 IP addresses to communicate to Internet. Since they are dynamically NAT, if anybody want to access my client internal network from outside internet, we usually advise them to use the whole range of IP.
The modem router used to dynamically NAT these 15 IPs are Cisco 2800.
I am thinking of the configuration using WAN DDNS on this Cisco 2800 for combine these 15 IPs to a DNS name by DDNS method (or any other way beside the DDNS) so that outside people can use one DNS name instead of whole range of IP. In case there is limitation of configuration of some outside people can use only one setting instead of one whole range of IP, they still can access by using one DNS name.
How to implement this on Cisco 2800?
I am trying to configure TZO DDNS on my 1941. The DDNS lines in the configuration file were provided one year ago by TZO support for a 1811W router, which was working befor i migrated to the 1941. I have attached a config file and a debug file. The unusual part of the debug file is session id 0x95. I thnk this is the format the router would use if it had been configured using CCP. I had tried CCP initially but it didnt work, so I deleted it from the configuration and used CLI instead. Session ID 0x96 is the call the router is making using the CLI configuration, as seen in the attached config file.
I am not sure where the problem is here. it appears to be logging on to TZO. It also appears that the router name is being added to the logon ID in session 0x95...ie instead of myname.net the router is sending cisco1941.myname.net ---not sure if this is relevant or not. It also appears that the update happens? At least that'w what I can garner from the log file.
I bought a HooToo IP Camera (HT-IP212) to monitor my garden activities from my laptop at home. Everything so far is going as normal as it shall be. The wired connection was fine and is providing steady image and video output. Question 1# is i can't figure out how to configure the wireless section. Shall I set up the DDNS for the Cam as per the instruction? Question 2# Can I monitor my garden using the laptop in my office (not the one in my house), how can i set up the procedure?
